So amazing, Samara has such a sweet spirit, glad to see her get recognition for the awesome work she put out this year not only officially but on the internet and in streamed live sets etc. Loved all the artists performing but Samara is is my Joy.
Had this concert running thru a remote speaker, Didn't know anything about who was playing or whether it was recorded 60 years ago. Thought The tenor sax was Sonny Rollins, thought the drummer was maybe Buddy Tate, couldn't place the bass player. Then I heard Emmet and walked to my computer because Emmet sounds like Emmet. Looking forward to hear Samara Joy sing in this show.
I can tell Samara from Sarah's voice. Both beautiful voices. Samara's voice next to my piano & a decent drummer and bass player would motivate me to play again in public. I play for my dog; just need a fellow musician to draw me out again. Why? I don't know the answer to that, but I LOVE playing in a band in public. Just like the old tune "I'll Never Smile Again", probably not until I'm playing in public again, but I'm afraid but I don't know why because I can play. Guess I'm a nut.
@@song4night Russel wrote on Instagram that he doesn’t play with the trio anymore when someone said they where looking forward to seeing the trio on tour next Spring. That’s all I know.
Love the 2 girls and all their performances, Samara killed it and I love the first song Ms. Reno did. The brother could sing and he did his thing with Samara but his flamboyant femininity was off putting and I actually stopped watching at the beginning of his first song.
I grew up in a small West Virginia town listening to jazz on late night AM radio. I'm 81, a straight white guy, and have been seriously listening to jazz for more than 65 years. I'm also a veteran of the Civil Rights Movement. One of my most important lessons from both jazz and from life is that I must always be ready to appreciate people for who they are, to be open to and love new ideas and realities. Some of our greatest artists are/were LGBTQ people.
Your negativity, homophobia and very clear effort to try and tarnish this gorgeous performance with your hatred is not welcome here. Do better. Even if that IS how you feel -- the idea that you took the time to write it out, knowing good and well that J Hoard or any of the other incredible performers that participated in this offering of love and holiday cheer might see it, is something you should take a good hard look at with a mental health professional. Live and let live, man. Music knows no worldly limitations -- like love and acceptance, it, too, is infinite. I hope you get better soon.
@@richardcortezmusic my opinion. I am not hateful to him, if he can't take criticism then he doesn't belong in that business. Didn't use a slur nor wish violence on him, I thought his over feminine flamboyancy could be toned down as it was off putting. So what is hateful there. I liked most of the show, but when he started pretending to act like a girl, it was not good to me. If a guy came out there clutching his genitals like a rapper and I said it was off putting , would you say I was heterophobia? Don't hate anyone. Wish the brotha well.
@@jimbrown1559 Don't disagree, Elton John, Sam smith, Luther Vandross loved their music and performances but if they came on stage and tried to pretend to be a girl, I probably would of been turned off as well as many others. I knew they were gay, didn't care. Simon Cowell has said the same things to performers. Not hating them , honest feedback. Wish him well,
I accidentally hit the 7x speed dial and for a moment I thought "damn, Emmet's been shedding like mad these holidays".
Mr. Pennicott you are extraordinary! Thank you. Best wishes health, joy and wellbeing. 🖖🏼 🥂
MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!!

SAMARA Oh My God
Fenomenalis.
Samara sounds like Sarah Vaughan…I can’t think of a higher compliment for her singing. Outstanding!
She's the business!

where's Rastaman these days?
Yeah wondering that myself. He is not really a replaceable is he. Wherever he is big love. And thanks for another stellar show.
Miss him too big time. Apparently they don’t play together anymore 🤷♂️
@@vaughanmatthews763 Yeah, he made a big difference.
@@ericrichards-thepianoman8183 Strange, I heard they were friends from very young.
