Lyrics:
Check it out, Joe, hah!
Two, three, four, eins, zwei, drei
Sie sagt, „Sugar sweet, ya got me rapping to the heat!“
Ich verstehe, sie ist heiß
Sie sagt, „Babe, you know, I miss my funky friends.“
Sie meint Jack und Joe und Jill
Mein Funk-Verständnis, ja, das reicht zur Not
Ich überreiß', was sie jetzt will
Alles klar, Herr Kommissar?
"Hey, wanna buy some stuff, man, huh?"
“Did you ever rap that thing, Jack? So rap it to the beat.”
Alles klar, Herr Kommissar?

Falco's "Der Kommissar" is a landmark song that helped to popularize rap music in Europe and beyond. The song, which was released in 1981, was the Austrian singer's first single and went on to become a global hit.
"Der Kommissar" is a rap song with a catchy melody and danceable beat. The lyrics tell the story of a young man who is being chased by the police. The song is sung in a mix of German, English, and Viennese dialect.
The song was a commercial success, reaching number one in Austria, Germany, Spain, and Italy. It also reached number one in Japan and number seven in Australia. In the United States, the song was a dance club hit, reaching number 19 on the Billboard dance charts.
"Der Kommissar" is considered to be one of the first major rap songs by a white artist. Falco's use of rap was controversial at the time, as rap was seen as a black genre. However, the song's success helped to pave the way for other white rappers, such as Eminem and Macklemore.
Falco was a controversial figure in his own right. He was known for his flamboyant persona and his outspoken views. However, he was also a talented musician with a unique voice. "Der Kommissar" is a testament to his talent and his influence on popular music.
Here are some additional details about the song:
The song was inspired by Falco's appearance in the Austrian crime drama series "Kottan ermittelt."
Falco was initially hesitant to release the song, as he felt it was not original enough.
The song's title refers to the police commissioner, a position that does not exist in the Austrian police force.
Falco collaborated with Afrika Bambaataa on a remix of the song, but the project was never completed.
Falco's "Der Kommissar" is a landmark song that helped to change the course of popular music. The song's success helped to popularize rap music in Europe and beyond, and it continues to inspire and entertain listeners today. I cannot hit the Like button enough times. Makes ya wanna start learning German. RIP Falco
Big fan , Falco forever , greetings from Belgium ❤
In Italy this song is back in fashion due to the ridiculous choice of health commissioners in Calabria 🇮🇹
Verissimo ahahah
Porro docet

Amazing
Back when Austrian dialect stormed US charts... good times.
*Viennese Dialect! And all in all it's german
Rockin' Resurrection
Last time I checked, Vienna was still in Austria.
@@WaaDoku Yeah and Sydney is still in Australia but they're speaking english! So the austrians are speaking german. And Viennese dialect is actually closer to the "normal" german "hochdeutsch" than any other austrian dialect
Rockin' Resurrection
Viennese dialect couldn't be further from High German. It's the flavor, man. Listen to his swag.
@@WaaDoku
If you listen to any other austrian dialect, then you'll realise how close this one is to highgerman
Travis Scoot: I bee the best rapper

"Don't let this masterpiece die"
Nunca la dejaremos morir 🔥 Los Clásicos Nunca Mueren! 🙌🏼
My teacher showed me this in my German class, and how he and his friends used to laugh when they saw this on MTV. Its a great song.
I'm Italian and my dad made me listen to this song when i was little, in the 90s. I love rap and i love this song, Falco is a genius and he made so many good songs.

@jon jon Brasileiro He was WAY

Tuo padre è un grande!
I have always adored Falco. He is a very talented performer with a great singing and rapping voice, a great stage presence, and a precious personality. He was way ahead of his time, musically. He was taken from us much too early. I miss him.
I liked his music but didn't know he was this good looking 🥰
@@Saudade_Ana He was a very sexy guy! Very! 🖤❤️‼️
