Totalmente de acuerdo, lo conocí cuando vino a Chile y me enamore de su estilo único y a la vez diverso. Como músico y como compositor le tengo muchísima admiración.
Mike Patton is an artist down to the bone. Love that he’s the best, but still does dope ass music like this. Mr. Bungle is my favorite of all. Everything else he and his fellow musicians do is amazing too. He knows his s***.
@@joshuafult84 Question: Do you feel that Mr. Bungle is in a position to uphold some of the ideals of Frank Zappa? Mike Patton: I don't know. I haven't really got a good answer for the Zappa question yet. And, boy, we get that question a lot. The funny thing is, I mean, I like Frank Zappa-I like some of his records-but he never really blew my head off when I was young, or even now. I'll listen to certain records and they're really great, but none of us are really huge Zappa fans. I don't think we're anywhere near where that guy got; I mean, he worked with everybody in a thousand different genres, and he had his own thing going. I don't really know if what we're doing is like what he did or what. I don't really have a good answer for that.
Bozzio's just about the only dude who could justify playing such a ridiculously mammoth kit. That's a badass tune to cover too. I wonder how many people in the audience even knew what it was.
The whole "Director's Cut" album is far beyond any metal being produced these days. I have total hetero-love for Mike Patton; if anyone else made scream-metal for schizophrenics, it would never sound so good.

This is a great rendition. Fantomas is amazing. I wonder if Mike Patton knows about "She Would Die For Love" - the official vocal version of the theme by Julee Cruise. It'd be interesting if he blended both versions. They're similar enough. I also wonder what Badalamenti thinks about this version as well. Anyone know?
wow he uses his voice as a true instrument. we bought this CD "on a fluke" in a way several yrs ago and have loved it but not even known who was behind it.
Is this from the soundboard? Well, maybe bad acoustics, lol, as it's only The Montreoux Jazzfest. No concern for sound/acoustics there! Lol!!! Maybe because of so many instruments/musicians on stage? Some strange live videos out there. Several cameras, shit sound, or great sound, few cameras. Usually great sounding(from the board), yet no video. Old school style! Just a pic from the show/session. Some amateur could re-mix the sound better. I hope the crowd didn't hear it like that! I try to stand as close to the soundman as possible. Should sound best there. Once dialled in no, but soundcheck in empty room, can lead to problems when packed with hot, loud, partying patrons!

i was way off. Amen was the band i was trying to think of. just found it on my shelf & wipe the dust from it. Lombardo is awesome. love Slayer's South of Heaven & Seasons of the Abyss. have to check out more from Patton. love FNM & then didnt follow him after they split.
It's perfectly ok to have this many drums, if A: you know what to do with them, and B: you're taking instructions from Mike Patton, who wouldn't have you on stage in the first place if you couldn't deliver his goods. Fantomas and Twin Peaks FOREVER!
Beastin' tune from an outstanding album. I've got a song called 'The Black Dance' which is inspired by Fantomas and may be of some interest to my fellow Patton fans. Either way, no one else pushes the envelope like Patton.
Out of the 20 or so live performances I have watched/heard of this song this is one of if not the best mix I have heard. Not sure what you guys are hearing but for the density of what they are playing the mix sounds great in my opinion. I respectfully disagree but you guys have great taste in music.Have a good one.
Great vids, arstyfairie08. You've got some real rare finds on here! Btw, this song is actually called Fire Walk With Me, after the Twin Peaks movie prequel FWWM.
@Mohammets you tell em man. Playing with Zappa Is one of the hardest thing to do too He could rip your soul out with his chord progressions make you just want to stop playing any instrument from muscle cramps and an utter failure to comprehend
Cool thanks dude, interesting that he prefers the bass overdrive pedal more than the guitar ones. Might give it a go myself actually maybe he's on to something...
Mike Patton is one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Absolutely!
Yes HE IS!@@shards0fwords
Mike Patton is a musician.
Of course HE IS !!! THE GREATEST ! THANK YOU FNM !

Masterpiece of a masterpiece
Huge Lynch, Twin Peaks, Patton and Zorn fan
This piece is insanely beautiful. Patton's fabulous. And that drum set is somehow excessively perfect.
Mike Patton ... That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. Total perfection !

It really is genius to put so much beautiful complexity into a 3 minute song. Those vocals at the
end - oh my god.
if patton was a zappa member, he would definitely be one of frank's favourite
Mr Bungle is sure taking inspiration on Zappa
Patton is the "Zappa" of the '90s onward. If the world of music was the Zappa family business, he would have proudly handed the keys over to Mike.
@@barbamatteo nope all the bungle members said they never listened to Zappa and in fact disliked Zappas music

This is my favorite track off of that whole CD, actually.
Same
fantomas live was one of the best shows of my life
As a David Lynch fan, I can say that this song is the best hommage Mike Patton could do.
Could be on Lost Highway soundtrack! Great!
"How much do you love Twin Peaks?"
"Enough to watch Mike Patton deepthroat a microphone."
Vhiskey89 thank whoever hired that “sound guy” because mike can do ANYTHING
Mike Patton is one of the coolest human beings alive.🤔👍
For everyone expressing uncertainty...
Yes, that definitely is Terry Bozzio.
Interesting that Bozzio would hook up with Patton, who I'm beginning to think is a genius in a genre-bending way as Zappa was.
Peter Baum beginning to think?
This is damn good cup of coffee... Wow, Bob, wow.
Bozzio's just about the only dude who could justify playing such a ridiculously mammoth kit. That's a badass tune to cover too. I wonder how many people in the audience even knew what it was.
Mike's voice and talent knows no bounds...
Love this!
His stuff with John Zorn is phenomenal, plus there's his solo stuff, and Fantômas of course which rules.
that has to be an awesome job. filling in for great bands & not having to play the same songs over & over & over has got to be a bonus
Simply beautiful!!
What you can actually tell is that everything Bozzio plays here is elaborate and perfectly in time.
Beautiful...
had never heard this. thanks reddit. I hope this sound could be utilized in season 3.
The whole "Director's Cut" album is far beyond any metal being produced these days.

Amazing. I'm speechless.
is it possible not to love this?
awesome.
funny this is one of the highest rated patton videos and the vocals are so low.
+A. Lane I came here for Bozzio.
I know right?! I wish there was better version of this with improved vocal.
Genius at work
gots to love the melody mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
very nice....another gem
wow fantomas is out of this world...and that drum-kit is just ridculous

couldn't agree more. The Director's Cut is truly one of a kind
Fantomas is freakin awesome! Especially director;s cut!!! Finnishing very well where Naked city started!
I love this song :D
AMAZING. Fantomas to me was his best project.

This is absolutely the best cover ever.

mike patton is so absolutely kick ass, i love this guy!!!
gotta love that screaming on the end of the song that aint like the studio version
the sound is so damn serious!!! Fantastic!!!!
-cant get it LOUD enough!!
Marvelous creations
this is one of the sickest live mike patton performances i've seen. twin peaks only makes it better
I think he knew the material just fine, hes just so good that he can add these lil off beats in to give it his personal touch
SO GOOD!

@IepsyI Now this is what I call a good and thoughtful comment. Good job, sir. You have won the internet.
I love this but I'm confused by the close ups of Mike's mouth. Lol
It's from the Fantomas album Directors Cut. A great album.
Fantomas to me are a "Perfect Band" !!
exactly. This is a crazy good performance marred by sound guy on the vocal mic. He should be fired.

Terry Bozzio and Mike Patton. True artists
@ordepone Lombardo was on tour with slayer, with slayer being his main band, fantomas got a session drummer
I have not words :-)
The Director's Cut (The album this song is on, by Fantômas) is basically only covers of "film music" ;)
