    Thank you so much! I am a non-drummer with no experience recording or mixing. I had no idea that there was so much involved in choosing and mixing drums, or that the NI drummer series has so much control over every aspect. These libraries are pretty old (as are many in Komplete 14 that I own), but it seems that you can't do much better with the newer stuff.

      Yeah it's long, but it needed to be to cover everything. There is timecode for each section in the description. The other option would be to make each section its own video and put them all in a playlist, but that's not as intuitive as having it all in a single video file. Thanks for watching.

    I think NI are an amazing company, but their UI is awful in many ways. I've been using Kontakt for a few years now, but understanding and getting to a good workflow is difficult, many things are hidden, the fonts are small, the menus are all over the place...I wish they were more like ableton or Logic, make things clear and let people focus on the music, not on terrible UI.

    • @BenoniStudio
      @BenoniStudio  4 года назад +4

      You see 4 buttons in the top bar of Kontakt. A disk, a gear, an interface options menu that looks like 3 shapes, and a minimize/maximize button that looks like two squares.
      Click the button to the right of the GEAR that looks like 3 shapes. You'll get a menu where you can choose options for what you want the interface to show. Click MASTER and you'll find things like master volume, tune, and tempo there.
      You can also press the F4 key on your keyboard as a shortcut.

Best heard with speakers and subwoofer...that kik drum tho. I appreciate this vid, I'm about to write an album and need to get better at my drums production and sequencing. BTW these drums are the presets.

    Is there any drum software that allows custom drum samples to be loaded in?

      Most of them do. BFD3, Superior 3, the stuff from Ugritone, etc.... Or just use any sampler. One probably came with your DAW. Or use Kontakt to load your own samples and create a custom instrument.

      Better? Probably not. All drum VI's sound great today. Just use the interface that you like and the one that has the features that you want.

      I think all VST drum libraries by are different. I would buy both the Kontakt drums and I have always been interested in EZ Drummer because it has so many expansion packs in pretty much every genre of music.

    Can you plug in electronic drums and play with these drum sounds?

    • @BenoniStudio

      You would use the MIDI output of your drum brain and set each pad to play the correct drum. Depending on the drum brain, it may be actual MIDI cables or USB.

    These are AMAZING plugins but Modern Drummer is the only bad one, it's a shame it's the one you picked lol
