If you work in Ordered Environment you can go to your pathfinder and click edit on the Subdivision Entity and that takes you back to Subdivision Modelling Mode. In Synchronous Environment you should click on the Subdivision Feature in Pathfinder and then select the Callout in the graphics environment and that takes you back to the Subdivision Modelling Mode.
I wouldn't hold hope for g3 surrfaces. The appear to be G2 BUT I have found that once you mess with the "Blend" edge weighting all bets are off.... I wouldn't expect a software like this to achieve Class A surfaces. You would need NX from their lineup or something like Alias from Autodesk or Catia from Dassault.
