Joker, Garnet, Finn and Wonder Woman are must buy for newbies, all of them will help you in Rift and have easy combos for Casual PVP/Ranked.
For now, i study on spend my currency based on what characters the missions/events required. I would say Joker should be a priority

He's the "newest" (without Jason) character rn, so that may be why he's so expensive but MAYBE he will be more cheap later on ??
I think that's the plan. After each season the cost will drop to the normal price.

Joke and Finn have low skill floors with high skill celings they're like the perfect beginner characters

I remember embed the free rotation was weak. I never played half the characters I always focused on the one I wanted to play with the most but guys just remember this get good with everyone and then you’ll find your main

Honestly all Velma needs is better reward off her stray hits. She's got disjoints for days and can play neutral pretty well, but she's a whiff punisher that is rewarded like a zoner. It's not helped by the vast majority of her specials being... questionably useful. The Vial is so situational that I honestly would rather just have it removed and keep the camera as her up special full time; Her grounded forward special is slow as hell, extremely high risk and basically no reward; You might get her down special twice per set, and I'm not talking about the mystery machine. She's absolutely playable right now, but I feel like I have to crutch on the same 6 moves for the entire round because the rest just isn't there.

I’m tired of the iron giant slander😂😂😂 even in the beta he was classified expert. He hard to use.
I just want Velma to be playable. Pretty much all of her abilities are so hard to hit or hit in such a weird way it's hard to follow them up. It's so hard to get the van because you lose all your clues when you die and if you actually get it it does nothing more than half the time. You basically play at a deficit because your character is weaker just to get back with a van and then when it doesn't actually do anything it's just frustrating. I loved her so much last time I played her in beta but I think I'm gonna stick with Steven and Harley for my mental health until they change something about Velma. It's sad because I love Scooby Doo but Shaggy is just too boring to play.
I don't really play platform fighters but i tried brawlhalla for awhile. I picked up harley just for looks but i labbed the game first to learn fundamentals so that's probably that's why my opponent either hated or loved me cause i know what i'm doing lol.
Brawlhalla is really fun. Who did you play? I liked playing Sindra a loooot

Oh! Yea, he is solid. Hammer characters are generally very good when you know what to do. 💪
For a brawler you need more persision with your attacks usinf morty compared to other characters who have wider hitting attacks
Morty is easily one of the hardest characters to get good value out of in the entire game putting him in easy is wild 🙏

I agree with Velma taking more skill and as the 0.1% who still enjoys playing her I must say definitely takes skill with my personal skill lvl I put her in A tier and for most people she's a C
I'm with you there, as another 0.1% Velma player. The problem I find with her is that I'm very often crutching on the same buttons over and over again because let's be honest: Half of her kit is as useless as people think she is. Light bulb is godlike, but it's her only functional juggle button. Grounded down attack is huge, extremely disjointed, active as all hell, reasonably quick and a combo starter, but the launch angle is really funky for follow-up attacks that aren't light-bulb, even though you can get so much more if the angle lines up. Megaphone is extremely strong even without the aiming and I have so many pictures of Banana Guard charging underneath me.
The problem is that she needs to rely on stray hits to win: She has no combos. She has nothing true out of her 1-2-3 that isn't finishing it off, and very little potential for follow-up after the fact. Maybe if the training room was better it'd be much easier to figure out exactly how to make her work.
@@kevingriffith6011 I have a zero to death combo with her that consists of light bulb and camera so I would recommend trying to also use camera within your combos too if you haven't already bc it no longer spikes and instead Just knocks them up now so it's also a good combo tool but yes I also agree with you
@@FirePrinceNezha The trouble i have is *landing* the camera in a combo, since I have to get above my opponent to do it. I absolutely do appreciate the camera as a combo tool, but Velma just isn't nimble enough to get into position to use it practically in her combos outside of using it as a combo starter, unless you know something I don't.
That being said, I haven't labbed a lot of potential Velma combos, particularly ones that involve her neutral B or down B, which I'm sure has applications in juggles. Labbing complex things is such a pain, though.
I agree it isn't something I labbed it's Just something I discovered on accident one day in a 1v1 set a happy little accident if you will it's more simple showing rather than explaining 😅

Yea, they all serve their purpose well! Velma requires a bit more effort to pull off though, but once you do it's nice. I really like her voice actor too, they did a great job.

How on earth is bugs easy? He does 100 things. You summon rockets, ride them, dig holes in the map, summon safes, knock them back. I feel like if I were to play him I'd do random stuff by accident.
Whereas Taz, which I haven't played either isn't going to be overwhelming, I can punch, tornado, cloud or bite. They're not on the same tier.
Ngl i feel bugs deserves in the bro row ive mained bugs sense the day the game came out and i still main him his combos r crazy and ive run into other bugs mains and they caught me sum stuff like i dident even know when u gonna under ground and when you jump the air to create the safe then drop in the hole it goes out the other end
Yea, I spoke on bugs in the video. I think people may be misunderstanding the tier list. I pinned a comment and explained in the video, but I think I didn't communicate it well. My apologies, I'll do it better in future videos. 😭
In terms of a real competitive S tier type tier list, I'll be doing one once ranked drops (as well as the balance changes). I feel to rank things accurately, we'll need a mode where we can really see experienced players use their characters. Normals are very hit/miss and things can appear stronger than they are due to casual play. 🙂

@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 We're so close to being able to lab properly, we just need better bot settings and fast stamina recovery. Stuff like having more than just neutral attack and neutral special to lab against, or having better control over how the bot responds defensively.
I really, really want frame data. That is on my wish list for real.

Really? I've never tested it. Always felt the same speed when moving around. You think it could be the perk and whether or not they take it for the speed?

I played 100+ hours in the beta, unlocked and played most characters. I played shaggy for the first time the other day and Jesus Christ he's ez mode

Putting cracked on Velma in the thumbnail is wild, she couldn't possibly be more trash, worst character in the game. They took her from a decent support to an absolute dogshit excuse for a fighter.
That said I'm a Stripe main, love that he's not only an assassin but an assassin that blows himself up. He's definitely squishy but boy oh boy does he wrack up damage fast, and nothing more satisfying than getting an opponent near the edge of the map where they think "whew that was close" only to whip out the pistol and ding them out lol.
Used to love Morty but man the bomb's not splitting in different directions anymore with his forwards special is painful and destroyed a large part of his bomb style kit.
