I remember watching this with my sister. A boy singing about how any boy can lead the nation, in front of both of his sisters. Sure, "it was a different time." People owned slaves in "different times." Doesn't make it right or good.
@@nonprofitgirl It's possible for people to hold opposing opinions "in the United States! United States! Of America..." The idea that Jodie could be president if he tried real hard, but that it was unthinkable (at that time) that Sissy might be president one day, is not an idea that I celebrate. Welcome to the USA!
Wonderful!! One of my favorite episodes. I remember I was a kid and looking forward to Monday nights when "Family Affair" came on. What a privilege to remember watching this during its first run.
Merci nostalgique au bon vieux temps une belle enfance passer en compagnie des séries télévisées des années soixante dix bonne continuation et merci encore
So unfair - Jody gets to do a solo even though he's tone deaf - a solo of a song that excludes women from the presidency no less - despite Buffy being banned from singing with the choir for also being tone deaf!
A few months before the episode aired (actually six months, according to 45cat) "Every Little Boy Can Be President" was released as a single on United Artists Records (#UA50296). It did not chart and it has yet to be uploaded to this website in any form other than this video. The B-side of the single, "The Garden Song", has also not been uploaded to this website.
I"ve heard this song exactly once before - Johnny Whitaker sang it during the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade from a float, maybe 66 or '67? and i can still sing along with it. Talk about an earwig...
When the Camera is not on the Choir, the Choir is the Band and when the Camera is not on the Audience, the Audience is the Band. Do not you know anything.
Yeah! Buffy is absolutely the star. But the chemistry those kids has is a thing of wonder. :) Can you imagine waking up and knowing you had to sing that song for national TV??! And my new go to phrase is “Ready, Buff!” :)
Not this episode but the first ep of season 3 and lana calls buffy Ava and on the trivia it said Buffy real name was Ava Elizabeth well no it wasn't cause 2 reasons 1 when the principal said Buffy that's unusual name Buffy or mr French would have said well it's a nick nsme her real name Ava and 2 when lana said her mom was going to name her Ava if she's hadn't named her Lana and Buffy would have said well my birth name is Ava Buffy is my nick name but she never did so Ava wasn't her name at all the same with Jody not once did i ever hear anyone say his name is Johnathan
Actually a lot better than Trump because Jody says in the song that if he were President he'd never tell a lie. Trump certainly can't make that claim. He lies everyday along with being an idiot and incapable of doing the job. Oh, and he's a racist and misogynist don't forget. And he colluded with the Russians to cheat to win the election. He is totally illegitimate.
You like what we have in office now? A paranoid schizophrenic, lying, 3 time married. adulterer, anti female, bigoted, no nothing, business failing. divisive, international embarrassing, idior who does nothing but watch the fake news station, ducks up to commies, and is a Hitler wannabe who befriends pedophiles, rapists, dictators, and anybody else he'll bound?
This has been in my head for DAYS…”every little boyyyy can be president!!” OMG Buffy and Jody are the CUTEST THINGS I HAVE -everr-seen! So sweet!
They were cute anissa jones and johnny Whittaker ❤❤ like Chris and Tracy partridge family and bobby and Cindy brady bunch
OMG! How freaking adorable was Jody and his song? the kid really did fantastic!
He sure did! Johnnie Whittaker's rendition of Every Little Boy Can Be President was one of my favorite Family Affair moments.

He sang beautifully!! That is one of the best family shows ever produced.
Wonderful!! One of my favorite episodes. I remember I was a kid and looking forward to Monday nights when "Family Affair" came on. What a privilege to remember watching this during its first run.
This was a great episode! Many episodes were sad but this is definitely one of their funny and cute ones!
Oh WOW! Some of these comments! I thought he did a magnificent job. ABSOLUTELY adorable!

Good Job Jody!! That’s a hard song to sing!🙌😃
Johnnie was adorable. I always enjoy this show.
Jody didn't get jealous when Buffy was the star of his baseball team.
Awesome performance by Jody. Well done.
"Elder" Johnny DID a WONDERFUL JOB!!!!!
Merci nostalgique au bon vieux temps une belle enfance passer en compagnie des séries télévisées des années soixante dix bonne continuation et merci encore
I remember that he later performed the song live in The Macy"s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I remember Johnny singing this at the Macy's parade. Glad I'm not the only one who does!
Ha! Wouldn't you love to see footage to see how it compares to our memories?
Absolutely! I'm sure he lip-synced it anyways.
I remember it, too. Googled the refrain lyrics, ended up here. Parade version was better... I hope...
Haven't heard the show's theme in years. Immediately thought of Rankin-Bass Christmas specials. 😀
Maravilloso recuerdo..
Have a girl sing that song: "Every boy can be president . . . why not me?"
That is some piano! Where is the band music coming from?

Jody Davis and Opie Taylor could have been brothers. Opie was a cute little kid, too.
I feel like i'm watching my own child.
Exactly!!!
CUTE!! Love this one!

Mis adorables sobrinos en español.
"Jody" was my first crush...right before David Cassidy :)
Ugh….i can’t remember what I had for breakfast but…….
He was truly the Justin Bieber of his time
Don’t say that! Better than any Bieber.
this was just uploaded it has not been on here since 2012
I was named after Uncle Bill actor Brian Keith. I'm serious.
That is so cool! Brian was a good (& handsome) actor
Interesting. I know a guy who was named after Jodie.
Can you imagine someone on a TV show today singing a patriotic song like this?
Can you imagine someone today believing the made up version of history that was taught in the 1960s?
Oh, geeez...someone would be offended, I'm sure ~ lol. These sure were the good ol' days
No girls allowed! How "patriotic?"
Great Song and performance, can somebody help me with the lyrics?
America has lost its wholesomeness
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
😍 😊 😚 🐻 ❤🎉

This was a good show. The 2002 version did not fare as well
The less said about the 2002 version, the better.
They probably had to blur the black girl on the screen because she was staring darts into the kid

Not the greatest singer, but he was a little kid. Cut him some slack!
Christ, this was awful ! No wonder two of the cast members offed themselves, god love them, they just couldn't live this down.
How dare you? Asshole!
2:06 Where did those horns come from????
LandondeeL From the orchestra.
Ha-ha-ha. There's no orchestra in sight.
He's the devil.
The song Jody sings for the glee club is too difficult for him. He can't sing it in key.
No ,Jody had no business trying to sing.He was terrible.
There's a key?
he was 6 years old...wtf ! a school show. ..he did fine..do better at 6 yrs old bunch of pathetic pieces of shit
He WAS just a little boy, after all :) he did fine
Thanks for giving your critique. It was very insightful and makes you seem very knowledgeable about music. Keep spreading your gifts!!!
But NOT Killary Clinton. Lol.
She would have been a lot better than that dictator maniac we got in there now.
Omg.......what do you think of the dictator we got in there NOW?
Wretched song. Where was Mr.French when this whole train wreck was first under discussion? He could have stopped it!
Well, Jody, you definitely would've been a helluva lot better than Obama.

My Bonny has only one lung.
My Bonny coughs big green phlegmballs
And rolls them around on her tongue.
What an awful song Jody sings
