This was a very helpful video, thanks for sharing! I've been growing my business for about six months now and your videos have played an important part in starting a roasting business from absolutely nothing. Thanks again!

In Massachusetts coffee beans are not considered food until you make a beverage. No food tax/sales tax

What?!? That’s awesome. It is so weird how the laws are so different everywhere on coffee.

Would you recommend starting off with a Bullet for a small roasting business,or do you think something like a Sedona BC-2 or BC-5 would be ok ?

I think to learn on it is fine. I just feel if you are going the business route, you have to get something that can scale. You will realize very quickly that roasting 20 separate batches adds up to a lot of time that could be spent else where in the business. The biggest size you can financially budget for the better of going the business route.

@@RobPirieCedarOtaCoffee Thanks for the reply! I guess it’s a bit of a combination of the two. I’m still learning, but I’ve had a lot of interest in my coffee, so I am also concerned about scalability. I think my original concern was going too big at first. But it sounds like going too small can be just as much of a problem.

What types of coffee did you start off with.

My very first bag of coffee was Indonesia Java Jampit purchased out of the warfs in New Orleans. Haha had no clue what I was doing but I had a sack of coffee to roast.

Does one need insurance if they are only drop shipping coffee?

That would be a good question for Jason. I interviewed him a few episodes back. I would reach out to him and see. He may have a drop shipping video that covers more details like that.
