Great knife. Overall absolutely love mine and have zero regrets. Pros: Overall the design, details, fit/finish, and mechanics for the money is absolutely spectacular for the price and honestly would have paid $100 more. A few cons although these are by no means a deal breaker but it’s not an unbiased assessment and more a promotion of the knife without them...It is quite blade heavy due to the heavy internal liner “skeletonization.” Also the insert lock bar notching is completely non-functional and provides no additional purchase, unlike the functional jimping on the spine of the blade, although aesthetically pleasing. The jimping on the spine of the blade is perfect and if additional pressure is applied you will get additional purchase. Without any pressure you don’t get any purchase and I prefer it that way. Lastly, the non-deep carry pocket clip mounting is completely unrefined and hardware heavy in combination with the handle screws at the rear of the blade leaving a cluster of shiny silver screws exposed when in the pocket; therefore, the pocket presentation could be better. It would have been nice to see reverse mount pocket clip screws and tack on to the price tag or the screws could have been coated black to draw less attention but I don’t prefer this since if you ever have to remove the hardware screws some of the coating comes off usually come off with especially when Loctite is used. Unlike the pocket clip mounting I do like the functional portion of the pocket clip with the milled holes that are chamfered and curved design that follows the lines of the handle. And mostly importantly there is just the right amount of tension and ramp so the knife will slide in and out of the pocket with ease.
I just ordered the carbon fiber with the black PVD coating. They won't be ready to ship until December, but I already can't wait. My wife hates you Jim, you have been responsible for SO many knives that I've bought in the past lol. Still haven't gotten my grail knife yet though. A Todd Begg Bodega custom. Great review as always, Semper Fi.
How do you think the carbon fiber goes up against the g10. is the carbon fiber you think going to be kind of slippery? Because the g10 version you can get right now and I'm thinking about getting that one instead with the satin blade just like to know your thoughts I've never handled a carbon fiber handle and I wonder if this would be slippery and I wouldn't like it
I'd take this over a goldclass any fucking day. That shit's the biggest fucking scam ever and the fanboys that buy them are Tiger King level stupid. Why buy those when you can get a custom for the same price?? It makes me cry to see such a shitty finish on damasteel.
Thanks Jim... I was on the fence, blue CF version sitting in my cart at BladeHQ. Then i watch your review... Had no choice but to buy it. Thanks!! $225 for those wondering in the future.
Perfect timing. I had just ordered a Spyderco Roc and canceled it to get this. The Roc is about 192 at most retailers right now so this is a much better value.
Always fucking awesome to see a full CF frame with an inset lock. Can never have too many of those, and can't beat them for a super light and sexy EDC. Just wish this had a flipper. Can't win 'em all I guess
Got a blue fat shred CF Hell razor in the mail as l type should get it tommorow Can't wait..You and Dirk sold me on this one Love that crazy curved blade There's not a lot of reviews of this knife which I'm surprised THANKS again for Bringing it to my attention 💪👍👊
I’m STILL waiting for an answer from Tom Braider (Mr. Skeltons personal assistant) if I can purchase a REAL Swiss made Invicta watch. Can I ? “Jim......are you still close friends with Eyal Lalo (President and CEO of Invicta)” ? If the answer is “YES” then could you contact him in my regards to the availability and opportunity to purchase one of incredible watches manufactured in Invictas SWISS etalier ? Anxiously awaiting your reply ! PS: I would love to discuss premium cigars with you now that Cuba has relaxed it’s restrictions !
Thanks for this video. Just bought this knife (the stonewashed g10 version) and love it! The action is probably the best I have ever had and it feels awesome in the hand. Been wanting one ever since I saw a no handle version (fixed blade?) in an old issue of Knives Illustrated.
My jaw just dropped when I heard the price. Ordered one immediately. It looks more expensive then what you are really paying for. Like holy shit man! That is cheaper than a CRK Small Sebenza 21. Still on my list of knives to own, but just hesitant on paying $400+ on it.
I just put my order in. Can’t wait. I’m a big knife guy and you are so right for S35VN and Carbon Fiber that a great price I went with the satin blade. I actually called him. Nice guy. He said about 7 weeks. No worries all good things are worth the wait. Iv been waiting on a custom wong design for 6 months. The Hornet 2 also CF and satin blade. Thanks for the great video.
Hey I am a fan of the channel and new to knife collecting I want to know have you or do you plan on doing a review of John Arnold mafuta knife I really want one but want to see your opinions first
FYI. I ordered 2 of these when your video came out from Red Horse. At the time of sale I was not informed that they did not have any to sale. I have followed up multiple times by email and been given ship dates that have come and gone. Now they are not responding to my emails. I would distance myself from people that do business like this. It’s been almost 2 months. No answers and no knives.
Looking at this and the new auto version, but I can only get one here at Christmas. I like the auto, but the action looks sluggish and the absence of the “speed holes” changes the appearance ever so slightly. Which would you get if you could only get one ?
@@JimSkeltonKnives Thanks for your input! Do you find the firing a bit sluggish and/or the firing button a bit sensitive for edc? I need to place an order for Christmas.
@@sturmgewehr70 It's not the hardest firing auto, but I don't find it too slow. Safety isn't a concern, it takes a concentrated effort to push the release button, it has a bit of travel before it unlocks the blade.
@@JimSkeltonKnives Thank you. I’m going to take your advice on the manual version to give as a gift. Maybe after Christmas has passed, I’ll order an auto for myself.
David Yoho I am just greatful that I had the opportunity to amass a small collection of custom already, including a Skelton Bladeworks Damasteel knife of the month winner.
Sorry man, can't watch the video. I saw those hands and found out you werent wearing a mask and had to nope out plz be more careful next time really a shame and we need to take responsibility for our safety. Honestly disappointed. 😔
Dude seriously. He is in his home. People that are so scared to even live make me sad. Also it is his right to do what he wants in the privacy of his own home.
215 for a Red Horse knife that is a no brainer acquisition.

xjbhm3q thanks for your comments. I ordered one today to check out myself.
I'm 16 and I just made my first flipper i hope to be able to make something this good looking in the future 👍
theocracy the 1st dude that’s amazing!
Looks like you're on the right track... GOOD LUCK! 💪👍👊

Not even a Batman mask? Oh right, wrong reviewer! 👍
Wow !! that is a beautiful knife .. I subscribed to the channel
Nice review sir! Im getting one. Just found your channel, 1st video, like what I see. Cheers!
Can you make educational video about *STEEL TYPES?* Thank you brother, another great review!
The only way I have managed to stay sane during all this Corona virus bullshit is catching up on Jim Skelton videos
Who is making them? In house or Chinese?

No Jim, "tickles my turtle" should be on a t shirt lmfao
I'd buy it!
Love your reviews.
That’s really awesome 👏... what a killer price!!! I’m loving it I’m wondering who the OEM is? Looks really well made!
Alex’s Knifebox I ordered one today. I’ll let you check it out once it comes in 😉
uhm its my birthday and you posted this, i think youre sending me a message.
If you flip the thumb stud will it stop the knife from closing? Asking as a lefty.
It is a turtle tickler. That's great fuckin value for what you're getting.
Nice... Should get mine on Thursday!
Who’s the Manufacturer?
Thanks Jim... I was on the fence, blue CF version sitting in my cart at BladeHQ. Then i watch your review... Had no choice but to buy it. Thanks!! $225 for those wondering in the future.
I also grabbed a blue and Black a couple days ago Can't wait to get it in Hand 🙂
Perfect timing. I had just ordered a Spyderco Roc and canceled it to get this. The Roc is about 192 at most retailers right now so this is a much better value.
Hopefully you can get both. The Roc does interest me, but this is hot on my list. I need to get one!

I take that back, not a full CF frame and inset lock here. I feel like they could've eliminated the liners from the show side and saved more weight
$250.00 not 215 just a fyi
Dammit Jim.......ordered
RedDawnWOLV haha he got me too 🤷🏼♂️
Just ordered mine a few days ago. Watching this got me excited to get it in my hands.
So, how is it?
Hope you are enjoying it.

Always wanted a custom of his but finances were never in the right place. Once this came up, I jumped all over it
Outstanding. Just ordered one myself. Thanks Jim.
Looks like that blade might be a pocket buster when carried. Do they still use that term?
i understand why they didn't but i wish they would have used titanium liners

hehe been living like this for years still a bit sain lol
I ordered mine yesterday with the coated blade.

When there’s a manual and auto choice on any knife, I will generally choose the manual. Less stuff to go wrong at some point in the future.

Really nice blade for the price 👍🏼
Not knocked out by that clip.
the holes give it a litle sabenza feel
The price of it is now $250
Lol just flick it 😂
That does look like a good deal. The pivot kinda reminds me of a TwoSun...
Which virtually all have three spokes on the operative side.
Link?
This in damascus would be my jam, even if it is not something like damasteel.
They got them on the Red Horse site now 👍👊
Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately trying to keep my house from falling apart has eaten up the hobby fund for the time being.
