We garden in Ireland and our highest temperatures are 70 degrees at the moment and we have had plenty of rain so far this summer. We have a lot of drought tolerant plants in our garden like echinacea, rudbeckia, gaura, coreopsis, salvia nemorosa, gaillardia, daylilies, agapanthus, kniphofia, monarda, shasta daisies, ice plant, African daisies, alstroemeria, salvia shrubs, sedums, sempervivums and cosmos.

That sounds just wonderful!! Do you have to amend your soil or do those plants all do naturally so well?

@@gardenpartystudio Hi there, we have been mulching with homemade compost for years and it has created good drainage and also feeds the soil.

I cannot say enough good things about summer bulbs: lilies, of course, and gladiolus. I admit that at first I was prejudiced against glads because hybrid gladioluses can fall over from their own weight, but I have had such wonderful results with Abyssinian glads. They bloom late summer and keep going until frost.

I'm so glad to hear that!! I am planning to try some more species gladiolus soon! I'm just getting into the summer bulbs myself
