The moment the music in In Search of Victory transitioned to piano, and the picture of Quan, Ethylin and their kids came up, I almost cried. Jugdral is full of tragedies, but their murder was one of the worst. Slaughtered in a desert, and if you take the manga as truth, Ethylin killed herself to prevent Travant from using her as leverage against Quan, who then relinquished Gae Bolg to save Altena, and died for it Genealogy of the Holy War might be my favorite of all the games, but holy shit it is brutal
well, what basically happens in the game is ... ethlyn gets killed mid-battle which causes Quan to lose his will to fight and hand over the Gae-Bolg in exchange for the life of his daughter which inevitably means his death as well.

My favorite difficulty setting is Hard/Classic because it's just easy enough for me to use whatever units I want with any build and still get through the game without too much trouble . . . but it's not as ridiculously easy as Normal the entire time. I also don't like the Casual setting in any case. I tried it once and I played as if it was Classic regardless.

All of you need to remember that it's that kind of elitism that makes FE notorious. To people not used to the game, FE Awakening's Normal/Casual is BRUTAL.

I'd go so far as to say Sacred Stones doesn't get enough love in general. I think a lot of people just sorta... forgot about it as the game between the first english one, and the first 3D one.
Your units are suddenly thrown into disarray by strong enemies. Your weapons break, foes hit more than they miss... and perhaps someone even dies in the turmoil. But these songs still manage to convince you to keep trying. It's damn inspiring!
I've listened to about 2 minutes of this. And I already know that this is Godlike. This is absolutely amazing. Also the lyrics to that last song... I'm done.
I did not know anything about Fire Emblem. I only knew what was on Super Smash Bros. I am SO glad I clicked on this being the huge music lover I am. This was such a good masterpiece put together, I am DEFINITELY getting into Fire Emblem.
It may be too late, but if you decide to start with Awakening, please remember that is greatly differs from the past games in the series. If you want to get into the series, note that Awakening adds in many things that the past games do not include, whether it be for better or worse.
Precision I do like to learn from the original first. If Awakening is as different as you say, then I might try to play an older version. I understand most are in Japan only, so if it's too much of a hassle, i'll just watch a play-through.
Shaknowne Chrono If you don't care about using roms, you can easily find pre-patched versions of the older games on rom downloading sites. Genealogy of the Holy War, for example.
Cortlin Fleet Pre-3DS Fire Emblem is still underrated. The amount of people who fangirl/boy over Lucina and Chrom but scoff at the likes of Leif, Lyn, Hector, Eirika, Sigurd is not insignificant.

Fire Emblem music has always been (in my opinion) better than any other video game music. Nintendo never fails with music. Mario, Legend of Zelda, even Kid Icarus, and many other games have GREAT music.
From humble beginnings to grand epilogue's! How these games have changed. With every dragon came a new blade to slay them.... I am glad I found this game series.
I wish there would be an updated version of this arrangement with the newer entries. I think the newest game included here is Radiant Dawn? Would be amazing to have one up to Three Houses/Hopes.
Every time I hear Shaman in the Dark I feel like I’m listening to Murderous Eyes from Resident Evil: Code Veronica. That exciting chill for a powerful foe. On a side note, I can’t stop crying every time I hear *With Mila’s Divine Protection* now.
NintendoPSX Zelda music is way more memorable. I only remember some recruitment themes and some boss themes from FE. The only game which IMO has a super memorable soundtrack is Awakening. Zelda has tons of memorable themes. Ballad of the Goddess The Great Sea The Dark World Lorule Castle Demise' theme Ghirahim's theme Saria's Song Overworld theme Ballad of the Wind Fish Gerudo Valley Termina Field etc

Well you get the elite ring in that chapter and I assume that Arden either got a lot of exp in the first 2 chapters or the level is nearly finished and the elite ring helped massively. I really wouldn't know since I don't use him like at all. I think the highest level he got for me was like 5.
Perhaps A LOT of boss abuse in the Prologue and Chapter 1. Notice how Ethlyn is a freakin' Paladin by Chapter 2 in the video. Definitely some boss abuse was going on. Either way, working that hard on both of them is sorta meaningless, especially given that Arden is a terrible father, and Leif will be fine regardless of how hard you work to make Ethlyn good.
12:30 to 13:46 is the best part imo because the recruitment themes are usually my favorite track and the arrangement of With Us and Together We Ride are done so well, kinda upset fire emblem 1s player phase isnt in this

I'd go so far as to say Sacred Stones doesn't get enough love in general. I think a lot of people just sorta... forgot about it as the game between the first english one, and the first 3D one.

I did not know anything about Fire Emblem. I only knew what was on Super Smash Bros. I am SO glad I clicked on this being the huge music lover I am. This was such a good masterpiece put together, I am DEFINITELY getting into Fire Emblem.
It may be too late, but if you decide to start with Awakening, please remember that is greatly differs from the past games in the series. If you want to get into the series, note that Awakening adds in many things that the past games do not include, whether it be for better or worse.
Precision I do like to learn from the original first. If Awakening is as different as you say, then I might try to play an older version.
I understand most are in Japan only, so if it's too much of a hassle, i'll just watch a play-through.

Cortlin Fleet Pre-3DS Fire Emblem is still underrated. The amount of people who fangirl/boy over Lucina and Chrom but scoff at the likes of Leif, Lyn, Hector, Eirika, Sigurd is not insignificant.

Fire Emblem music has always been (in my opinion) better than any other video game music. Nintendo never fails with music. Mario, Legend of Zelda, even Kid Icarus, and many other games have GREAT music.

NintendoPSX Zelda music is way more memorable. I only remember some recruitment themes and some boss themes from FE. The only game which IMO has a super memorable soundtrack is Awakening. Zelda has tons of memorable themes.

How does one manage to promote Ardan, let alone promote him by Chapter 2.
Well you get the elite ring in that chapter and I assume that Arden either got a lot of exp in the first 2 chapters or the level is nearly finished and the elite ring helped massively. I really wouldn't know since I don't use him like at all. I think the highest level he got for me was like 5.
Perhaps A LOT of boss abuse in the Prologue and Chapter 1.
Notice how Ethlyn is a freakin' Paladin by Chapter 2 in the video. Definitely some boss abuse was going on.
Either way, working that hard on both of them is sorta meaningless, especially given that Arden is a terrible father, and Leif will be fine regardless of how hard you work to make Ethlyn good.
