Thank u. I wondered if doing a corn starch slurry was even possible. I was not going to do the initial cool water or warm up the slurry. You saved my beef stew.
I enjoy batch cooking and it really helps with all of the different schedules that we have. I think it looks fantastic thin too! I know that is going to be so so good!!! Yummo!
Thanks so much, you inspired me to do this batch cooking and I've really enjoyed it. Now I have a freezer full of easy delicious meals 😋 thanks for watching and for your kind comments 💚🌹💚 happy cooking
I too do batch cooking of that amount. I always find it too watery but tasty and enjoyable when fresh but when I freeze portions and heat it up a few days later it tastes bland due to too much water content and I am going to try this method and hopefully it will thicken it and not lose flavour thanks
Good luck 🤞 you can use a package of instant brown gravy mix in lieu of cornstarch for a more flavorsome thickener. Thanks for watching and for your kind comments 💚🌹💚 love from Arkansas
So that's what you do to prevent clumps. I'm always learning stuff from you. I would just mix water in cornstarch and pour directly in pot. Thanks for the tip!
That beef stew looks absolutely delicious, really hearty and warming Tennielle 😋, just the job for this time of year👍. That's a brilliant way of thickening your gravy or sauce by using cornstarch, it's a long time since I used any, I'm usually trying to reduce wine down but it's never a success!! I've put it onto my shopping list for when I eventually get home as I don't think I have any in my food cupboards, so Thanks very much for the tip ❤😘. Hope that you're going to put your feet up after all this cooking!! Enjoy your dinner and the evening ahead y'all. Love you cousin😍❤😻🥰🤗😘😘
I guess I could have reduced it more but the flavor was right and the meat was falling apart and it had been cooking for like 18 hours so I was ready to finish it up. It turned out pretty good 👍 hope you get back to cooking in your own kitchen soon 💚🌹💚 love ya Cuz
At the end of cooking if it seems too thin then add and bring to a light simmer to activate the corn starch. Then serve and enjoy. Thanks for watching and for your kind comments 💚🌹💚 love from Arkansas

At what point of cooking do you add the slurry? At the end or beginning?
