Wow what a beautiful wedding! I love how this wedding was so focused on the most important thing about marriage which was love and commitment and not superficial things. I love how Akinyi is so open and transparent about everything in her content. She never pretends to be anything or anyone but who she truly is and that is the reason I’ve always liked her from the tv show and now to this RUclips channel. Her character has never waivered. Benjamin is such a pure soul and I can truly see that these two were made for each other. May God continue to bless your marriage. As for the African church not showing up all I have to say to that is being African myself them not showing up truly broke my heart, I am lost for words. We did a simple wedding as well....we bought flowers from hobby lobby and kept the tags on and returned them to get our money back 🤣🤣🤣...I've come to learn that the life after marriage matters the most. Coming across this video today, really broke me down seeing Akinyi walking down the aisle by herself shedding tears , reminds me of walking down the aisle by myself on my wedding day 6years ago. So sorry You we’re treated this way. Being in a foreign country can be so difficult for the first few years where we don’t have to see our parents when we need to. Planning a wedding on a low budget is the best l, at the end what’s matter is what you both share together. I can relate so well to this except that my parents are deceased now so seeing her parents attend virtually brought so much tears. The confusion of being in a strange country with everything being new is so challenging. Thank God you have a great church family to support with a lot. The African church just did what they do best; judge. I am sad that the mentality follows us even when we travel out of the continent. Kudos to the family that showed up for them. In my case, my husband and I just went to the court house and got married without any ceremony and no family present(his) because I didn’t have family in the USA. In fact the state allowed for him to be the officiant of our wedding. I did not feel the pain of not having my own family present. Long story is; love and willingness to commit is what matters in marriage. Thanks for sharing Akinyi.
