Perfect timing! I am getting ready to upgrade from the iPad/E6 Connect setup to a Laptop/GS Pro setup. Thanks for all you do Mitch!

What kind of laptop did you end up getting, I’m shopping for one as we speak. How is it performing

      @@Magicsimgolf acer nitro 5 AN515-45-R92M Gaming Laptop. Ryzen 7 and RTX 3060.
It’s performing well! I can’t run GS Pro on ultra like I could with a beefier gaming PC but it runs great on High and hasn’t given me any trouble.

GSPro requires way higher spec'ed computer IMO. I have both TGC and GSPro, running on my AMD Ryzen 7 / AMD RX 5600M Laptop. TGC is much smoother than GSPro even with higher graphic setting. Personally prefer TGC but they don't fix bugs like how GSPro does. GSPro will be the best option for sim golf in a short future.

Of course the higher spec computer you get, the better experience! I’d love to have one of the top specs but I managed to build a budget PC and it runs GSPro golf enough for me. Hopefully I will upgrade in the future though!

I have a Lenovo Y545 with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz with 16GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. It runs TGC2019 great but I have not yet tried GSPRO. The one thing that bothers me is it runs very slow and then disconnects if I try to stream TGC2019 via Google Chromecast. SkyTrak runs with the Chromecast with no issues. Any clue why that may be? I'm thinking I might want to one day get a dedicated laptop in my shed versus using this laptop in the house and then moving it into the shed every time I am itching to play or practice with the SkyTrak.

Your laptop should run GSPro with absolutely no problems. The 2060 is a better graphics card than the one I have and mine runs GSPro fine on high settings. As for the chrome cast issues then I’m not sure unfortunately. That sounds like it could be an internet issue but like I say I’m really not sure.

@@hcpgolf Thank you sir. Watched the video where you built a PC along with the two sites which help in doing so. At some point in the future and especially if I win the lottery, I'll put a dedicated PC in my golf shed.

    Hi Mitch
    How much is GS pro?

Hi Lee, GSPro is $250 per year

A few things. Agree with most of your assessments but that 3050 is not worth it at all. It’s so limiting especially if you have to run other software line us Uneekor users that need to run ignite or view on top of GSPro. And I’m a laptop, all of these cards run slower than their desktop versions. So bear that in mind.
The one other comment is on 4K and the 3070. Even in desktop space the 3070 can struggle with 4K on sone courses so would love to see real live gameplay of someone running a laptop with fps on screen and in ultra or very high. Based on hundreds of comments on discord, I don’t think it’s perfect for 4K.
I always tell people that their computer is not the place to cheap out on their builds. It’s the heart of their sim rooms that needs to run the multiple softwares, streaming/video recording, live chats for online play, and other things. Running a high end game that puts these laptops in overdrive and at really hot temps will limit what can be done and shorten the life of their computer.
But….if graphics don’t matter or smooth gameplay, and you need portability, I’d go with a 3060ti and not push the machine past very high even though it’s capable of more. Shouldn’t notice much of a difference in graphics but the machine will run cooler and last longer.
    That’s my 2 cents anyway.

Fair points, I was merely coming from the perspective of being able to run golf simulator software based on the minimum requirements for most softwares and also comparison against the GPU that I use (only 1650s) and I am capable of running GSPro on ultra - albeit with stuttery gameplay, but it works well in High. I wasn’t considering others who may want to use cameras for swing analysis etc. Some great info in your comment though, I hope someone will get benefit from reading it 👍🏼

@@hcpgolf no worries. A lot depends on your launch monitor. I know guys running high end optix cameras with swing analysis software while streaming and playing GSPro. Requires sone extra juice. I believe a hole in the ozone layer is visible above their sims. Lol.

Just to let you know my configuration
    Dell XPS 13 2 in 1
    11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHzEdition
    16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
Intel IRIS Xe built in graphics
    Windows 11 Home
Running GS Pro at 1920x1200 High graphics
No GPU built in graphics. Also found memory to be extremely important recommend at least 16gb some of the courses on GSPro are real memory hogs.

    • @hcpgolf
      @hcpgolf  2 года назад

Yes good point about the memory, 8gb RAM is the minimum recommended but if you can manage to get 16+ RAM that would be more beneficial 👍🏼
