    Matt remember the old days of monster cable my father used to have the Toyota forklift account at their South San Francisco facility and one day I was able to go with him there to check out the facility this was back in the early 2000 pretty awesome set up they had!

    About 20 years ago my sister and brother-in-law asked me to put together a music system for them. Yep, NAD at its heart. Still going strong.

    It’s a solid receiver, my brother has one. I ran the Dirac calibration setup for him and it definitely cleans up the sound. I’m looking to pick one up myself after hearing the difference that Dirac makes

      Is it dynamic like Yamaha. I know NAD to be very mellow

    NAD doesn’t advertise which HDMI version they’re using in this, but it’s most likely 2.0 if it can output 4K60. Which would be the same as their VM 310 MDC module.
    I hope they’ll update their HDMI to 2.1, to be able to output 4K120 or 8K60, soon.

    BluOS is part of Lenbrook so it’s more than likely locked to their products and not as a licensed streaming module. NAD, Bluesound etc. has it of course. Don’t take my word for it though 😉
    Also it’s not NAD that makes their class D modules (amplifiers). It’s Hypex and Purifi from mostly Bruno putzeys designs. Then they license the technology to Lenbrook (NAD).

    Excellent review. All of the themes were exactly what I was thinking, keep it simple, make sure it works, use quality equipment.

    I had one, enjoyed it, loved it, then sold it for separates. I regret that. Now I need 3 components (processor + 2 amps), and I still don't have a digital streamer for Tidal since I don't have BluOS. This separates system doesn't even sound much better than the 778.

    Why no Blu-ray via uncompressed audio when watching movies in your personal home theater? Or does Apple TV provide DTS HD : Dolby True HD?

    Does the Dirac recognize both subwoofers as separate subwoofers inside the Dirac full upgraded software? I know it's a combined sub1 and sub2 wiring (so they're not really true separate sub outs). But in looking at getting one of these to buy, I wonder if the Dirac actually see's the subs individually in the software measurement or does it only see one subwoofer that combines the 2 subwoofers that could be connected to the sub1 and sub2 out (but are in essence combined wiring, so only really one sub out)... If you know what I mean?... As I understand it, you can't get Dirac Multi Bass but I just wondered if the Dirac Live Update could measure 2 separate subwoofers in it's software and recognize them as 2 separate subwoofers inside it's software when using this NAD T778 unit? Would love your input and thoughts on this and if you can confirm this for me?

    FTC boy I’m trying to remember that from my speaker days but I think you’re right Matt basically this unit sounds like it’s over built I bet you they’re under rating the power a little bit…

    I’m debating between this 778 an anthem mrx740 and a Arcam avr850 😏. The Arcam is older but still has atmos, 4k Dolby but also a better amp than all of these

    • @donaldcoulter6017
      @donaldcoulter6017 Год назад

      Arcam has the Class AB amp circuits but lacks the processing sophistication

    • @Laissez_Faire
      @Laissez_Faire Год назад +1

      @@donaldcoulter6017 so I tried both the Anthem and the Arcam avr850 and hands down the Arcam wins. I also tried an Arcam AVR20 which is the newer model and still give it to the avr850. The 850 also has Class G amplification over all the other models

    When you hardwire you don’t need the bluos dongle! Don’t need the hub either when setup via lan.

    I have owned the Nad t778 for about a year it sounds very good for 2 channel music and HT I have found for my speakers tone controls are set flat for best sound ( my hearing) plenty of deep bass from this class D amp/ receiver. Unless you are using extremely bright speakers this thing sounds great without adding a bunch of unnecessary sound enhancements. Dirac is good for HT but music I prefer it off the Bluos streaming is great.

    What amp or avr would you recommend for B&W 702 s2, htm71 s2, 706 s and subowoofer? I have a Marantz sr7010 and I don't like it at, it sounds too bright to me especially in two channel application.

    I’m running Klipsch speakers with my T778. Two towers, center, six overhead speakers and a 15 inch sub in a great room and it blows the doors off the house. Blue OS is incredible. It can process up to 24bit music. 8 bit is CD so imagine the level of studio quality sound it can crank out. Amazon music has lots of high definition content now,even Atmos and that is where you will get that crisp unbelievable studio quality 3D sound. Play it in Surround mode instead of stereo for HD/Atmos tracks and crank it up. Tell me what you think. Also how can you play music in a garage full of echoing surfaces and get any kind of clarity.

    The problem with the title of this video is that the T778 is not "Reference" Audio nor Video. I am a NAD fan and own a Masters Series M33. However the T778 is not considered "Reference". Is it damn good yes but lacking many attributes to be considered "Reference".

    For a shop receiver how will it hold up to dirt, dust and metal particulates? It is something we should enclose with filtration? Asking for others, for me i would never, ever spend 3200 for a shop system. I have a 1K system atm and it's better than my house surround, so I could not constitute that much for just a receiver. But hey maybe some folks can just so when people visit there shop they can be like " Hi welcome to my shop, want to see my $3200 receiver and little dick?"

    Thinking about getting this NAD T778 instead of Denon 6700 to power up Dali Rubicon 2 + Rubicon Vokal and 2 Dali Oberin 3.
    Need to go to a shop to test the sound, but I heard NAD Stereo Amps compared to Denon AVR Stereo modes. Sounded heaps better. What do you think I should go for?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  2 года назад

      I think the NAD is a better choice. It's just so much simpler than the Denon stuff. The Class D NAD amps are really growing on me.
