    I get that repeated measurement can produce a more accurate result, but how does it reduce absolute uncertainty? as uncertainty is found by range of results /2

    • @pohsy3103
      @pohsy3103 2 года назад +6

      when you repeat measurements, the results will be more accurate thus smaller range of results as errors can be eliminated no? and thus smaller absolute uncertainty? not too sure tho

      @@pohsy3103 Hi yes that is correct, the more repeats, the greater concordancy and precision - allowing you to remove anamolies and decrease your range.

    Great video thanks so much but on another video it said the absolute uncertainty of a gradient is just the difference between the line of best fit and line of worst fit. Is this wrong, as here it says it’s the difference divided by 2 (at 29:52). Why is this different from the absolute uncertainty of y intercepts which is just the difference between best and worse intercept (at 29:59).

    • @liamfinley723
      @liamfinley723 2 года назад

      It’s line of worst fit - line of best fit over line of best fit x100

      @@liamfinley723 that’s only for the percentage uncertainty I think, not the absolute uncertainty
