@@pedtalkssports Yeah but he doesn't get the main mention as a pivotal part of that generation. Very good consice analysis of Spanish football history. A good place to start if you are young and want to find out more about it. I remember "La furia" days and they were horrible, very basic. I watched Spain play live twice in the 1978 world cup! From the mid 80's onwards they started to pick up. They had some very good players and teams but not enough to win anything. Then the tiki-taka era was sublime. Now this shift in identity feels like a new dawn, an inteligente move. I think the difference is that now they have belief, and legendary performances like that one against Germany in this euros, will instil more belief into the future generations. "I think the difference is that now they have belief" Yeap, you nailed it. As a Spaniard I can tell you that mental block was HUGE. At the beginning of every major competition people, and most likely players too, went with enthusiasm, but there were always this little nagging thought in the back of out minds that said "we're gonna be eliminated in quarter finals again, aren't we?". And that held true for decades. However, then Tiki-Taka happened. And that generation gave us something that is even bigger than 3 major world competitions in a row: they gave us hope. That what happened 15 years ago wasn't just a lucky generation. It can happen again. And there's nothing more precious than that.
And the Spanish fans are Madrid fanboys that don’t care about Spain, if their players aren’t on the squad. Kross injured Pedri and all they cared about was how it was kross last game. They literally cheered for a Madrid player that scored on there international team. Bunch of 🤡🤡
