The Twister was formerly called Treetop Twister. In 2001, less than a year after its opening, 20 year old Gemma Savage was killed by Treetop Twister. Faulty wiring meant that it was possible for 2 cars to collide which resulted in fatal head and neck inuries (although she died in hospital rather than immediately). The coroner recorded this as 'Death by misadventure' which is an utterly insulting verdict because it implies that Gemma was doing something reckless by going on a theme park ride. In fact properly maintained and with full staff training and downtimes for repairs NO theme park ride should EVER kill.
These spinning coasters are fun when they spin really fast, but they can be a back racker when going over those small hills. Other than that they're a fun coaster for their size. Nice video Steve. :-)
