I read your blog reviews, but I still enjoy the video format as well! I agree with all your points, I've been using a two-section Leofoto (SO-282C) for the past year. It carries a higher 55lb rating than your SA-324C, but I still find it extremely flexy to shoot off the top. Not a huge issue since I rarely shoot off tripod and it's just my spotting set up. I actually like it because it's super lightweight and easy to carry around, but if I wanted to shoot off tripod I'd buy something much sturdier.

I'm 6'2", and the height of the Leofoto is perfectly fine. Not sure why you say it won't work for a 6" person. Also, the MA-30 head is STILL on their website, so not sure where you got the info that it was discontinued.... Not great watching reviews with factually incorrect info given. And seriously, you're comparing a $386 Leofoto tripod with a $1900 RRS with Anvil? Obviously the RRS would have better build quality - it's 5x the price...

When I posted this 9 months ago, the MA-30 was not on the Leofoto website. This has been one of my criticisms about Leofoto in that they do not have consistent online product information and stuff falls off their site. They also run multiple sites with varying product pages which exacerbates that issue. As far as the 324C working for you at 6'2, that's interesting. I would think that you'd have to be hunching down quite a bit to glass through binos or a straight body spotting scope. Then again, perhaps you're bagging on top of a tac table to make up the difference between 61 inches and your standing eye height.

But for those looking for the MA-30, please post the Leofoto product purchase page for reference. Everything on leofotooutdoors.com does not reference the MA-30.

I ordered the LS 323c. Would it have that kind of flex shooting from the sitting position? I assume most of the flex is coming from the lower legs?

Thanks for the review. Just ordered their 365C tripod for shooting. Curious to see if it will have less flex.

Hi there, did you have the same experience with flexion ? Thanks for your response, I have my eyes on the new SA-324CX model :-)

This is odd. I have the same tripod with a different head and it does not exhibit that type of wobble at all.

I have the SA-364CL with the MA-30L ballhead (straight up fake anvil ballhead). It seems to have a lot less wobble than your 324. I'll try to upload a vid later.

In most peoples world, very little shooting off tripods is not a common thing. Prs has gone away from it. What we use it for is a bino/ work station. And occasionally for rear support. So for that I think it would work great.

Definitely a fair point and I feel this is a great tripod for optics use. However the head is not. I would prefer a ballhead with separate ball tension and panning knob controls for spotting optics.
