The Bup 64 map started off super solid, and I love the concept with making spooky challeneges around algo horror, but canonballing Simple into FNAF 2 night 5 was evil since it's the most luck based one in the series.

Definitely one of the most unique competitions would love a Creepy-Pasta Competition 2 now with decomp bet people would be able to create a bunch of cool shit.
I feel like a lot of these hacks are innovative for their time. Since they came out a whole year before SM64 creepypastas became a thing (with the personalization stuff and whatnot), most of them had to create entirely new ideas on how to make SM64 scary. I have a feeling that if this contest was done nowadays, most of the hacks would be based on the SM64 beta, the Wario Apparition, or some other thing that's "liminal." We wouldn't have gotten an epic boss fight against an Omega Peach, or a compelling story about the deterioration of Bomb-Omb Battlefield. We might have gotten a hack about the yellow switch, but it definitely wouldn't have had as much of a focus on the emotions of the NPCs once the switch has been pressed.
Yeah, I agree with you up to some point, I think there would be a lot of hacks like that but, let's not undermine the creativity of the amazing people in the romhacking community, we'll see once the creepypasta redux eventually happens

Super Mario 64 (Modded 8019C828) seriously had one of the best openings to any spooky hack. Really hope the creator works on their own game in the future, they absolutely have the talent.

So, for Bup, the weird creature from the first trial honestly worked better as a jumpscare than the actual jumpscares. ...or I may just be too desensitized to intentionally-made jumpscare scenes. As for hugging the left wall for mazes, that works but only if the maze is Euclidian and doesn't have any loops.
Once again no SimpleFlips laugh count for being a movie. If the video is 59 minutes and 59 seconds or below then i can count the laughs, 1 hour or above its what i call as a "movie". If i try and count the laughs something terrible can happen and i cant let it happen. PS: SimpleClips is the only channel in his alt i never count the laughs for always being a movie in that place
