The dad definitely falls into the rare "sensitive voice of reason" category. I think the way that he interacts with both of them is sweet. You can tell he's always been the mediator between the two.

AlllSmiless possibly. I’m close with my mom, but I grew up feeling like I wasn’t good enough because I couldn’t please her. She always had something to say. But she’s always been there for me and has really just wanted me to feel confident about myself instead of hiding in clothing that was four sizes too big and hair that was always in my face and rarely styled.
At the end of the day,we can all agree that the veil is a magician💀

They would actually be perfect for that, and truth be told, the mother was right about all three dresses. When the bride came out in the third dress, the mother visibly winced at the deep v neckline, but she relented in the end.
Dad’s personality is fantastic and his enjoyment is infectious.

@@sme7385 I just meant I like how the dad keeps the mom in check. Some people just tend to be more blunt and have less of a filter and can come across as mean. I don’t think this mom was genuinely trying to be mean like some of the other moms on this show. She’s probably married to the dad because she helps stick up for him when he avoids confrontation and he helps her not have as much of an attitude and I think that’s cute

@True Cunningham Well in *my* opinion I think the bride should wear whatever she feels the prettiest in! It's her SPECIAL day and she shouldn't have to walk down in some lace curtains and bed linen. Whatever makes the bride feel like the best version of herself~

I think the whole issue with the bride's mother was her concern about modesty. She would never be happy with any dress that showed more cleavage than she thought appropriate for a wedding ceremony. I suspect that the bride knew this about her mother and pushed her buttons on the issue. This was a case where the bride needed to go by herself to choose her wedding dress, because the battle lines were drawn before they ever walked into the shop. Left on her own, I think the bride would have made a choice that came closer to her mother's wishes for a classic, traditional look. The second dress she tried on would have fit that description. I liked both ladies, and the father was terrific.

There are some with psychosis or dementia, some with addictions and unresolved inner conflicts and so on. But they are still mothers. They gave birth. It's huge. They endured the pregnancy and the labor pains. And it is absolutely enough to show mothers all respect and honor they deserve. Yes indeed so many mothers are difficult to get along with. As you say, yous is not a treat, but you, dear one, ask God for His help still to remain sweet. God bless you and your mom with a personal revelation of His Love in Christ Jesus.
