- God of War Voice Actors Panel Game On Expo 2023. Today, we have a great voice actor panel from the actors of God of War. WE have Christopher Judge, who voiced Kratos in God of War (2018) and 2022's God of War: Ragnarok. We also have Thor, who is voiced by Ryan Hurst in the English voiceover for God of War Ragnarok. Ryan is known for his role as Lobo in Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2020) and Jedidah in Rango (2011). Additionally, he played Opie Winston in the FX series Sons of Anarchy.

Ryan and Chris seems like calm and reasonable persons. Ryan actually blew me away with the fact he traines dogs and ducks. And Chris was so insightful and funny. What a great panel!

Someone NEEDS to take a dialogue back and forth between Ryan and Chris from this panel and animate it as Kratos and Thor.
Hell, just the line of Thor saying "Oh I also train ducks" and Kratos turning with a huge grin and saying "I hate you!" would be perfect!

I remember Chris saying that between seasons of SG1, he'd always get pissy about having to go bald for the show, so he developed a tradition in which he'd do the most bizarre things imaginable with his hair during his off time. To this day, Chris's hair is always the most batshit looking thing in the room.

This was very nice! It's rare to see actors this at ease and playful when in these panels, unless they just have the drive to push it to the next level themselves (and it still tends to not be uniform). In this case, it's like everybody there were long time friends! Props to the host for being able to keep the banter with Judge, which definitely helped build the energy up.

These guys are amazing. GoW 2018, Ragnarok and rdr2 are my all time favorite games. The characters, actors and stories were the best I’ve ever seen and every playthrough has spots, even as a grown man, that make me tear up. Well done all! I really hope we see Kratos again. The fact that the actors involved ARE the character, they don’t just lend their voice but the entirety of the characters from voice to movements to emotions .. miraculous imho. I’ll be disappointed when Kratos journey is no more. Thanks fellas and thanks to your castmates. You rock!
damn i knew judge was out for medical reasons but i was not expecting it to be a traumatic surgery. does anyone know why he had to get both hips replaced and knees and back? the dedication and will to continue as kratos sped up this mans recovery for sure.

And when I first saw his performance on the GOW from 2018, since then I copied his way of impersonation, his way of talk and all that is included in being a voice actor and I can say I do it perfectly and it's so funny to do his voice in a game with voice chat

Does the host not realize that they actually go in and do all the acting for the parts like movements etc like actually act out the scenes for everything and not just read?
So, if you don’t know how interviewing works, a lot of times the host has to dumb down the questions because there’s a lot of people who don’t know that actors sometimes do the motion capture performance as well, but that’s not always the case. Often times as interviewers we dumb down the questions for all the audience to avoid the question coming up later. I’m not sure if that makes sense, but that’s a method we use. Joe Rogan uses this method a lot he knows the information but he acts like he doesn’t to put himself in a relatable position to the people who don’t have the knowledge
I feel like this lady isn't understanding that what Chris is saying, is that all the actors get together on a soundstage and PHYSICALLY act out the scenes, including emoting with their faces. The only difference in what they're doing from "regular" acting is that they're wearing a mo-cap suit

No chance they use real weapons. They don’t even do that in the movies lol, imagine how dangerous that would be. Especially not in games, they used inflatables for the last God Of war so they probably did here as well.

I'm sorry but the host here was incredibly under prepared for this and her not realising they literally act, on a sound stage not a vocal booth, and you're seeing Judges full performance from his face to his movements in the game.
Calling him a voice actor and describing them as "going in and reading" shows she thought the game was made in a vocal booth, thats not at all how God of War was made and you'd expect her to know that.
She knows , there’s a form of interviewing when you dumb yourself down to the audience member who might not know these things . It’s a style, Joe Rogan does it all the time.
