Nailed it on it being relaxing. People think hauling trash is the worst job ever from the outside looking in but I look forward to our residential route. Our first packer was only a 12k investment. If you buy smart and don't go nuts a packer is a game changer for ya. Thanks again for being transparent.
I was in the retail route sales business for 25 years. I totally understand what its like being "married" to your business. As the years progressed working 6 days a week withour vacation, I developed a relationship with a couple of school teachers that wanted to earn money during their summer break and occasional weekends. They were responsible and could be trusted with my business. This gave me coverage a couple times a year for respite from the business.... if you don't, it will definitely be your downfall. GREAT CONTENT!
Seriously considering starting with a couple roll-offs early next year. I’m in rural north Florida in a growing market with plenty(for now) of new construction going on. Not looking good for the residential side of it here, but I’m getting excited about the prospect of starting the roll-off business to supplement my income from my regular job. I work the graveyard shift, so that leaves my mornings and/or evenings open to deliver and pick up. Your videos have been inspiring. Thanks for sharing your experiences and tips!

This is awesome I’ve been planning to expand my rolloff company into residential pickup. Just had my first meeting with an HOA management firm hopefully everything works out looking at around 85-300 homes to start off. Where did you get your trash bins from? Thank you!!!!
@@lakechamplainsanitation7226 thanks! I love the channel! You are definitely one of the reasons I stopped dragging my feet and started my business. I love how your super professional, informative, and always looking for ways to expand outside of roll offs. No other RUclipsr is doing this!!!!
When you did you residential trash pick up in your set up with the dump trailer that you built the walls up on, how did you go about separating trash and recyclables?
I have a Boxtruck with a lift gate, mostly did moving jobs and junk removal, due to injuries I’m looking to go the residential trash route, providing trash bins etc , I would have to roll them on to the truck, and dump each bin and drop them back to the customers, sounds like something that could work? Think I’ll loose on diesel and time , I’ll give it a whirl and let the people know how it goes
Could you do a video sometime about valet trash? I’m in the process of starting a valet trash business right now and would love to get your take on how you would go about it. Unfortunately, I’m stuck in an urban area for the time being and that seems like the only way I can get trash routes.
Starting to consider expanding my side hustle after finding your Chanel. How many stops do you average with the 7x12 trailer and what is your average full load weight at the dump?
If you just started with a pick-up or a dump truck how did you physically pick upstream can and dump it. Did you just reach in every can and sling each bag?
I've been hauling trash since I was 18 and I'm now 31. I'm getting ready to start my own business. Im not sure if I should start with a pick-up and a dump trailer, a packer or if I should get a roll off truck and start with dumpsters. Any suggestions? Pros- Cons?
I do work for a trash company they've been in business since 1946 it's a family-owned business I have my CDL class A license. My question is you think $55 is a reasonable price for 2 months starting my own business ? my company charges $70 every 3 months , and with commercials they charge about $200 to $300
Where do you research if you can or can’t do this business in certain towns or areas? I know some areas have contracts and can’t get into there but what would you recommend? Thank you
I’m not a RUclipsr but would love to do a joint video with you on your channel on this same topic. I started a small hauling company in 2012, frontload/automated side load/roll offs with 10 trucks now.

I never gave it a thought that towns could be under contract with trash companies
Nice! The business idea is very unique yet will surely profit in the long run.

Where do you buy your bulk commercial trash cans?
Get you a 3/4 ton truck and build some wood sides on it. Load and unload by hand . Easily get 40 houses on there!
