AMSTERDAM has a LOT to offer in terms of DELICIOUS and UNIQUE Street Foods! Today we are in Albert Cuyp, the largest street market in Amsterdam. This place is a MUST visit destination for street food lover. Everything from the original fresh Stroopwafels, Buttery Poffertjes, to RAW Pickled herring. We had so much fun filming in this episode X)
Since childhood I’ve always had mayo with my fries. It’s sooooo delicious
You Miss the ‘Toko’ a mix between traditional Dutch-Indonesian food. ‘Pasteitje’ ‘Risolles’ en ‘Lemper’ there is a lot in the Netherlands also on the Albert Cuyp.
Noted.. on my list for next time
Lemper and risolles are amazing ❤❤❤❤
Yummy 😋 I love all the Goodies that you guy’s tasted especially the Kibbeling and the Stroopwafels ah and the Fries Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼😊
@13:50 perhaps even more quintessentially dutch than fries with mayonnaise are fries with satay sauce or a mix like ‘patatje oorlog’. And they’re less boring.
I need to try this next time 🤗
I would also recommend a stall that sells fries with real mayonnaise instead of "met" which is fries sauce. Fries sauce is often referred to as mayonnaise while it is not even close to it. It's almost entirely made with water where mayonnaise is at least 70% oil. It tastes delicious with fries. Also interesting is the Flemish mayonaise which is sour.
This being recommended to me as I spiritually decided that I’m moving to the Netherlands 😂 Great video! Can’t wait to try these delicious dishes !
don't move its too expensive
@@marcusvalerius2678 code for we don't want you here.
Ok now I know what I am going to do this coming Saturday! Thanks 😊.
Loving this video's :)
For tourists the following advice. Beware of old herring and some of those exaggerated prices you can see in this video. Back to the herring, if the seller does not ask if you want onions, chances are he is trying to hide the smell of old herring. Always ask how fresh the herring is and have the onions on the side and never on the fish.
I LOVED the fries with mayo
This was fun looking 😂🎉
verry well done! thanx a cloggie
My favorite was the koostengels and my favorite drink is the Rivella!! Yum
So many people think the same about fish as your mate, me included! I hate the taste of fish, but i do like 'kibbeling' 😂
YES it's called ALBERT..... Mad mad boy.....
Love poffertjes. I disagree they're small pancakes since they've a different taste and texture then pancakes. By the way, try the market in the Jordaan on Saturday. Better price for the snacks😉.
Oh, another to try if you like fish: shrimp kroket 😋.
I will try that next time I in the city. Many thanks 🙏
I agree. Poffertjes have a few different ingredients in the batter that Dutch pancakes don't have (probably American pancakes as well):
- Buckweat flour
- Yeast
- Keukenstroop (a dark Dutch syrup that is a leftover product from sugar production)
- Molten butter
50% of the flour is regular wheat flour and the other half is buckwheat.
why am I watching this when I'm hungry D:
Fun fact: My brother used to live close to this market, and the first time I really walked the whole market was last year, doing tourism. I live in Spain.
yUM YUM
Krijg er honger van...🤣🤣
I enjoyed the food through you!
🙏🙏
June July we will go to Zeeland in the Netherlands for 8 weeks. Looking foreward for friet and kibbeling
I life in Zeeland. You should go to weekmarkets, you have fishcars there. You can ask for haring with onions and kibbeling. Poffertjes is something in Amsterdam, or you should go to a pancakehouse. Perhaps they have poffertjes overthere
kelihatannya enak itu brother
This showed up in my recommendations. No idea why. I did watch the whole thing though. No idea why either.
You had to take bitterballen
The best "Haring" from the market, is from the vender/fish shop Molenaar across from this vender!! Best "Kibbeling/Lekkerbek" comes from the vender/fish shop J.C.M. Koning (Eerste van der Helststraat, where they are not grabbing the fish by their bare hands!!!),! Best fries "Bob's Vlaamse Frituur". There are only two venders of "Poffertjes" and on this one i totally agree!
Niet met blote handen? Hoe dan? Handschoenen?
Does your friend have a vlog also? Can he give us a tour as well?
Try peanut sauce on your fries next time! the best!
Will do!
With mayonaise and onions
Extremely expensive the kibbeling and the poffertjes, Amsterdam tourist prices I guess?
Same price for tourists and locals. It’s just an overly gentrified neighborhood.
thats why you dont go to amsterdam. everything over there is overpriced. and yes i say that as a native dutchman
I like the Dappermarkt more because it’s not so touristic
Me too! and we like to keep it that way dont we? so.... sssshhhhh ;)
Geen frikandel gegeten? Wel een misser!
Traditional herring is without anything else.
And herring is not raw, but fermented.
Fermented food can still be raw. Classic 'Hollandse nieuwe' isn't fermented though, it's ripened for a few days but absolutely not fermented. Same for 'maatjesharing'. Salty herring or the jarred stuff is indeed fermented.
Geen Satétje???
11.11 Talks about everything except how tasty the fresh fish is .
It just cant think of all the word to describe this. But this is surly delicious!
Netherlands incrible country 👍
I am a real Dutch and hearring is something I avoid. Just like any raw fish like sushi. And I have several reasons for that ;)
In dutch
5:35 Time for some turd snacks!
I can smell it too!!
😆💩

many what waiting?
Hahah 🙊
Amsterdam is the most beautiful city in Europe.Highly recomended to everyone who wants to move there or visit it
He had to give u or the fries with oorlog or with the piccalilly because its not spicey weird guy
Herring doesn't need the green thing...yuck...only onions please!!
those green things are pickles lol. in the west of the netherlands they eat haring with pickles. in most places in the netherlands they eat it only with onions.
Only in Amsterdam area, because they always sold old shit. You don't taste it,s with pickles. Only in a dam they sell stroopwafel with chocolate, or nutella.
Only for tourists.
From what i know (Im a dutch native) haring goes with sour pickles alot of the time, but it is optional ofc
Dutch here, traditionalist herring raw onion only and down the gullet it goes by its tail.
I can’t believe you’re in a WHITE shirt.
You got scammed with poffertjes 3,50€? Can not believe
You failed mate didn't like the haring 😂😂 no surprise most people abroad hate it, am vegan for 5 year now 1 thing I miss is haring especially there on the market my fav place
I think it an acquired taste which need sometime to get used to it, similar to sushi taste. I surely will give them more tries 🤗
@@supathefoodieit is indeed sour salt, fish unusual taste combi
tons of vegans that still eat fish though.
@@CetinAmsterdam haring is not sour. if a haring is sour its going to rot.
The turd snack
Quite nasty the guy grabs the kibbeling with his blote klauwen but glad it tasted allright.
Hou van je stone coal Engels 😆
lekker die kibbeling met zijn handen in het bakje gooien. Hallo Covid.
I’m Dutch
How come your dude didn't try the herring?
Not every Dutch person likes herring, i don't like it either.
YES ANGEL can't and won't JOIN..... They falsely blame interfere and disturb me...
I dondt eat seafood i just eat kibbeling ?? GET OUT DUDE !! 🐟🐠🐟
Looking at this video after smoking weed.... That's not fun at all :-(
Please stop saying Oh My God, its very sad if a person say His name like this
I did not enjoy the street food in A-dam. Unhealthy and the Dutch vendors I went to couldn't speak a word of English. Pickled herring isn't delicious.
Herring is NOT "raw" it is fermented.
It is not fermented, it is salted. They only eat fermented herring in Scandinavia
@@koiwijzertv4951 salted to preserve so it is fermented but not fully.

not completely true. yes it is salted as well
Skip Amsterdam only americans and chinese go there for canals and weed xD btw stroopwafel is from Gouda..... Amsterdam isnt a reflection of the real Netherlands.
