- Hi everyone, this is my interpretation of the gorgeous transcription made by The Pianos of Cha'n about Summertime, originally composed by George Gershwin in 1935.

I had a friend who was an excellent pianist. We were early for a community choir rehearsal, and was his custom, he would head to the piano and play from memory. He was playing this and another choir member, who tended to be quite pretentious, came in gave it a listen and asked, Shostakovich? I loved looking at him and saying, "nope....George Gershwin". To this day, its still one of my fondest memories of this piano solo. My pianist has passed over now, but his memory lives on. RIP Randy. I will miss you always.

Gershwin was one of the greatest composer of all time... Too often forgotten or underated... A mix of classical music, rag time, early jazz music. Incredible...

Since finding the original video and sheet music a few weeks ago, I have been learning this. (I don't ever expect to play it as well as you do, but I can hope!) Nice work, that’s a difficult one.
I love this. It's much harder than it seems with all the jumping around. I'm hoping to one day not only be able to play it, but to have it memorized. It would be wonderful to be able to look at the keys alone! Hahaha. Thanks for a wonderful rendition. It's such a sexy piece.

I'd say that tecnically speaking it'll be a 5/10 but the epression is way higher! Anyways remember that the overall difficult of a piece depends on how perfectly you can play it :) Thanks for the comment and have fun playing it :)
Alright thank you man I appreciate the hell out of ya. I couldn’t find that information anywhere on the World Wide Web lol and okay I got you I can play the first 1 minute very well but only cuz I play 6 hours a day as a adult beginner. it’s been a tough road I’m way out of my league but that’s how I roll start where I don’t belong but finish strong 🤣
I like your breakdown though slow tempo then build up to fast tempo. I been writing and recording music for over a decade now so pianos natural to me. And I see what you did and how you did I liked the rendition 2:00 till 2:20 was probably my favourite. Had you tapping your feet and bobbin in your head lol
How many hours did it take you to finish this song at first before you got good and sped the shit up and could do what you wanted with it ? I’m 1.5 months in RUclips self taught 🤣 I’m a natural-over achiever.. my next question is, realistically. How long would it take, to say master the entire song. Not as well as you but at regular tempo. I’m at 7 days of 5 hours the same song now, I just wanted a realistic time basis. Just for point of reference so I have a legitimate time to beat.

BRnico there’s a poco accelerando but I think he exaggerates it so it’s technically rubato but that’s fine, that’s his take on it and I think it sounds nice. People should be allowed to interpret how they like
