I can’t believe I’m just seeing this!😭 this was my grandmas house! My childhood home. My grandma was the sweetest woman and I’m glad her house got a final look before being tore down 😢
Thanks for sharing! I bought an old home in Dayton that needed much love in its rejuvenation, built in 1928. I am about 70% complete. I would love to join you guys on your explorations. Stay safe and thanks again!
That's not a piano, it's an old reed pump organ. I have one from 1882 that my father bought 48 years ago at a church auction. He bid $100 and didn't think he'd get it, but he did.
Thanks for taking us along. I always worry bout you guys going in places so run down and rotting away. It looks like it had been a beautiful home at one time. If the walls could only talk! So sad to think about it just rotting and crumbling away. Take care and be safe in your exploring.
What fabulous woodwork in that home. Glad you checked the age of that book. If home gets bulldozed, and prolly will, the good stuff will be lost forever. Great find!
Very cool exploration! That was a beautiful house in the day, sad that it was so badly neglected. Thanks for the background info, it takes time to look all that up and I appreciate it. The window and door moldings were so beautiful and unusually ornate. Glad you captured it all before it implodes. Good work filming, too. Hope to see more from you, notifications set! Stay safe out there.
Hello I'm new to the channel I wanted to say I love watching people explore these abandoned. Thank you for making me happy stay safe while you explore.
I have a similar story. My late grandfather was in the German army in 1941 during the invasion of the Soviet Union. During the month of August 1941 his recon unit was tasked to probe a large Russian swampy forest near the town of Velikaya Luki. They came across a village where time had apparently stood still for years. The inhabitants still thought the Czar ruled Russia. The unit left them in peace and wrote a report for their divisional HQ. True story. There are actually several stories like this. Russia was such a vast & undeveloped nation at that time, with few decent roads, that small villages essentially lived off their own land using local resources & had no need to communicate with larger villages. These villages had no clue that the worst war in human history was taking place around them.
my husband and i bought an old house built around 1890. we were excited to renovate and hopefully find some really cool stuff. the only thing left in the house was a piano, and when we demolished getting ready for renovations, the only hidden thing we found was an old issue of hustler stuck to the wall behing a bathroom vanity (sad trombone sounds).
This actually made me laugh out loud. We all wish we could find gems or hidden treasures. The best way to find the treasures it’s to explore lots of abandoned places. I don’t show the 9 out of 10 that I explore that are just meh 😑.
Great to see you still exploring, haven't seen you for quite a while. I know life got busy for everyone the past year. I would bet that wood in there probably still shines with a good cleaning and dusting it is still beautiful too. That rose wall paper pretty cool too, you can actually see all the details. Floor was pretty sketchy couldn't see the wood it was covered with all the stuff. You be safe and hope the see more soon.
Great woodwork in there. It such a shame that house is rotting to the ground. A hoarder probably lived there, but also, they may have died with no relatives. It was a nice house in its day. Thanks for sharing!
Are those separate houses. They are so close they look attached. I have always wondered how houses that close together are built. There is almost no room in between them to work. Great video as always!
I’ve been driving past this place for years, and my gut finally told me I needed to check it out. It was probably in much better shape three or four years ago.
That house was once beautiful. I will never understand the mentality of hoarders. Glad you all stayed safe exploring this house and did not fall through any floors.
I watch a fair amount of videos about these old forgotten homes and the one thing that gets me every time is an overwhelming sadness that everything is left to rot and no one cares not even their families I know sometimes there is no one left but most of the time there is just very sad to see
With all the those yellow envelopes made me wonder if someone there worked for the treasurers office. Hugh Quill was treasurer until 1993 i read. Unbelievable the amount of stuff left in that house 😮. I would hope someone would save some stuff from that home before it collapses or torn down.. windows, doors, wood work.
Does anyone come in and salvage that wood? It's really cool. I remember taking off 6 layers of paint on the woodwork of my parents house and how beautiful it was after we refinished them. Their house was built in the 1880's Cincinnati
Hey man, I would really like to get ahold of you for some questions on the house you did outside of Eaton ohio ! The 1850’s Underground Railroad house please get back with me
Those 1800s books and such would be coming home with me.Then taken to the Montgomery Co. Historical society. Could be important history just decaying in trash. Or at least take pics and send them to the Mont Hist society. I agree that it is best to leave everything in an abandoned house etc. But history sitting in trash?
This is on my street. All of the abandoned houses around here are used by homeless people so most of the junk you see is their trash. Most are burned out as is the one next door. This one is beautiful but not salvageable which is a pity.
Looks like an episode of "Hoarders." Why do you think that people just up and leave everything? Why is it seemingly such a hurried exodus? There's no way to renovate that place. It needs to be torn down.
@@OnceOccupied I just don't understand how everything is scattered around in these abandoned videos. Is that people scavenging for valuables? Everyone I have seen is like that.
I can’t believe I’m just seeing this!😭 this was my grandmas house! My childhood home. My grandma was the sweetest woman and I’m glad her house got a final look before being tore down 😢
I’m sorry for your loss
@@OnceOccupied thank you. Did you end up keeping the books you found? If so, I would love if I could have a look at them. I never knew those existed.
I'm heading to Dayton soon. What area is this in? I would love some pictures
That doll head makes me so sad. She was a beauty in her day. I would love to have her now
Thank you for taking us along on your explore. Love it!! Also love basements and attics. Loved the history of the place, makes it more real.
You’re very welcome!

Dang. I wonder if it’s original to the first owners. Given the stuff we found upstairs.
@@OnceOccupied It could very well be!
I find it hard to believe that could have been inhabited as recently as 2013
Great explore and thanks for doing the research to share with us
Thank you! I hope everybody likes houses because they are my favorite things to explore.

I really appreciate the love and I’m glad you like the videos!
@@OnceOccupied thank you and your welcome
Stairs seem to hold up the best in most old houses, though occasionally you'll see one where the stairs go first.
Great exploration, thanks for sharing

Glad you didn't hurt yourself in there! 👍

Thanks for the kind words. I love old wallpaper, especially when it’s partially covered by layers put on over the years.

It was my grandmothers. She got Alzheimer’s and her sister inherited the house and let it and everything go.
I know you have posted in a while but i hope you keep at it
IMHO, you should have taken the old books and letters and searched for a relative or given them to the Historical Society. Awesome house!
A lot of good salvage in it. Solid wood doors, the casement, and the mantels, will all sell.
Are those separate houses. They are so close they look attached. I have always wondered how houses that close together are built. There is almost no room in between them to work. Great video as always!
The doll head is classic!
As he Roll the dolls head over the doll yelled be safe out there 😂😂😂😂😂
What a shame I can imagine how beautiful that house must have been looking at the details of the wood work
I’ve been driving past this place for years, and my gut finally told me I needed to check it out. It was probably in much better shape three or four years ago.
I can’t believe the house sustained that much damage in 10 years.
I agree. I think if it had a metal roof, it would survive another 50 years.
Sadly there is a good chance that house was neglected way before it was abandoned
That house was once beautiful. I will never understand the mentality of hoarders. Glad you all stayed safe exploring this house and did not fall through any floors.
I can't believe things were left there, door knows etc.
What I was going to say. Jeff is surely correct.
The house was probably beautiful back in the day. I love the old wood work. Thanks for sharing this explore 😊.
Glad you enjoyed it!

he started in 1993, left in 2007
Truly awsom stuff
Ive been in this exact house its right by my mothers

Please post in your show more what gear you use, thanks.
he door frames and doors look like cherry wood.. i think the wood work is salvageable
Does a bathtub, falling through a collapsing floor, make any noise if there is no one there to hear it?
It looks like it hasn't been occupied in like 55 years or something
Adorable!
I live in Dayton... Where is it at ?
Do you know if any of these houses have been bought since you went in them
Those doors need rescued!
Hope you guys are okay. I miss your videos! ha!
It's been a year that you don't have the next upload video
Hey man, I would really like to get ahold of you for some questions on the house you did outside of Eaton ohio ! The 1850’s Underground Railroad house please get back with me
Wow all I can say is your Brave
That is a old and is a pretty home
That organ is an old pump organ probably fixed up be worth more than that house..

No heirs to clean it out. I would almost bet the 2nd owners were daughter and granddaughter to keep all that original paperwork.
Agree that’s pretty plausible
@@OnceOccupied I just don't understand how everything is scattered around in these abandoned videos. Is that people scavenging for valuables? Everyone I have seen is like that.
Do you think people have used these abandoned homes as a dump?
Looks like maybe a hoarder before they died
Why ? Someone could use all that wood work and doors. I just don't understand some people
I live in Dayton, my house was built around 1890ish. Its in a little bit better shape than that. 🤪
I know the family that lived there
Why do people have to ruin everything
Between the people and Mother Nature you just can’t win.
Sad
I hope you have good insurance! I wouldn’t go in there for anything!
You got the date from "Good Housekeeping" magazine! Ha ha! I guess they didn't read it.
my house is 14 years younger
Yes dear Jesus it isn't worth getting hurt.
A real fixer upper.
Too bad. Everyone knows what happened,
All a bit tawdry & squalid
