This is one of the first ballet vs hip hop videos I've seen that has melded both together equally. Usually ballet is the one adjusting to become more 'hip hop' as if ballet is the one that needs to change. This one has both types of music, both types of dance, and neither one become the other. Neither one is worse, nor better, and both are presented as equally beautiful. I love it!
Nefertari Lol just because YOU love ballet doesn‘t mean it is better! And come on don‘t kid yourself ballet is not really that popular anymore. It‘s like people trying to compare different martial arts and picking which oennoe what style is the best while really it all depends on the individual practicing an art form. In short: get off your high horse
@@balletshoes I am a ballerina as well and I do agree with you in the sense that it takes so much to truly become a ballerina. I've been a dancer for 20+ years and I'm still learning. There is so much that goes into it from the training to the technique, etc.. it absolutely requires a life time of hard work and dedication. I do not agree however that ANY other form of dance is not equal. The reason we dance is for the freedom. We get lost in it. It's an experience that only a dancer can understand. I think that's what connects us all and in that sense there is no better or worse way to dance. What makes a real dancer to me is the look on their face of pure joy. Everything about dance is beautiful. Regardless of the style
When they take off the clothes and particularly the shoes, it's like stripping each other of the identifying features of each genre of dance and identifying what they do as just dance, the art of body movement. It's actually quite a powerful message if applied to other areas of life that find themselves in conflict.
Amen! Taking the clothes down to "skin" shows how they're both talented dancers doing what they love in different ways yet they're the same. Beautiful imagery and gorgeous dancing from both of them.
I think dance is a form of art, you can’t discriminate art because it is what the creator and the audience sees. To someone it may be this, to another it may be that. There is no right or wrong in art, just expression of oneself. And that is what makes dancing such a beautiful art, a practice, a skill
there are many crusty pretentious people in the upper echelons who will definitely tell you there is a "right and wrong" in art. they've made a handsome career out of shitting on people's hard work and emotion.
I was waiting for the switch to happen in either... One becoming the other... But they never changed their styles... They did similar steps but in their own styles which also shows us how similar two completely different dance forms could be..that's the beauty... And I loved how it never mingled fully with each other keeping their individuality, uniqueness alive and yet perfectly in sync...😍😍❤️❤️❤️
that moment when you don't know if you should keep practise ballet or start dancing hip hop and see this video and you are more uncertain than before. dammit they are both beautiful.
honeymonie monie hello fellow bts fan. btw i feel your pain. or i did once. i gave up ballet several years ago to persue latin dance. i miss ballet a lot, but i love dancing tango and salsa.
I think the message in this dance is very clear and beautiful. It demonstrates how 2 different kinds of dancers unravel each of their differences (clothes) while trying to dance on the same rhythm. It shows how we could appreciate any form of art if we wouldn't judge, and accept the differences, appreciating people above every stigma and stereotypes. Also realize how the dancers focus on each other's dance moves, while still keeping their original dance styles. It tells us that we could enjoy other's different ways of expressing art while still being our unique self.
The msg is NOT "Define this style of Dance" .... The msg is "Find a style of Dance that connects us all". Music is something that is universal and timeless. DANCE is the frail human form trying to put into movement something that is above all nationalities, ages, colors, genders and even styles. THIS LITERALLY STRIPS THAT BARE. BRAVO. 👏👑🎀 🌹
This dance is the art of love. She's soft elegant.. he's a little rough but makes sense yet they still dance together they help each other to remove what gets in the way.. and even when they don't see each other they still dance together..
This made me cry. Its the only Ballet/Hip Hop video ive seen thats actually moved me. Its beautuful and to me them taking off their clothes represents to me them sheding the label of Ballet or HipHop and just melding them together. Neither one changed into the other they just came together to do a new style. I think it also shows no matter what sex, race, colour you are or language you speak people can overcome differences and learn to work together and we are all the same. We are all human beings.
About how two opposites complement each other beautifully and it is precisely the diversity that creates harmony. And at the same time it’s a “danced dissonance”. And it beautifully depicts the appeal or attraction.
Kati R just be happy you can wear casual, most schools in asia have to wear same kind of uniforms everyday in school and have our own PE clothes. Fucking people can’t be greatfull and try to make things better for themselves instead of seeing how others would feel
I dance Ballet, Hip Hop, and a lot of things more and when i see this things they touched my heart but I would like to see some girls dancing hip hop and boys dancing ballet that would be amazing 😍 PD. Puerto Rico tiene talento puñeta
I love when people combine two genres that are complete polar opposites and it turns into something beautiful. Rock and classical music, ballet and hip hop, paintings and sculptures which were all developed from combining different styles of art and they’re all beautiful
This piece gives me goose bumps and brings tears to my eyes each time I watch it...stripping down the layers to show the soul of what dancing really is, the raw emotion and power and beauty is so real. Sensational job to these amazing dancers and everyone else who brought this vision to light 💕💕
OMG. I cannot even believe how metaphorically, mystically beautiful this is. I am weeping. Thank you to all of you who brought this to life. It speaks my heart. I'm still sobbing tears of gratitude at the grandeur of its spectacular beauty.
Surprisingly tasteful dance shows how the two "different" styles of dance can borrow from each other. To me the clothing is like dropping the outer pretenses and discovering the inner hearts of the dancers are much the same! Beautifully done!
Angela Tillman It’s not too late to start! I began taking ballet classes at 25 with only swing-dance experience under my belt c: We will never be pros but you can learn it for the joy of it!

Lol...or just the odd one out who's enamored with and fascinated by the beauty of the human body and what it can do! It was a pleasure just to see them move. There are all the motor neurons that fire at just the right moment to produce that movement, whether it's subtle, controlled movement (like fine motor control in popping or locking) or a sweeping grand jete. And the hours upon hours of practice- of moving your body and becoming deeply familiar with your body and where it is in space...that's what produces the glorious fluidity of movement. It's remarkable, truly! I'm not particularly skilled in performing art. Most kinds really- my violin playing is traumatizing. My guitar playing, I'm told, is very educational- the girl I sat next to in a class I took learned how to tune me out to hear the teacher. My drawing is poor. And when I dance? That does not mean that understanding the beauty in human movement is exclusive to dancers, however. :P And yes, it is a beautiful and profound work.

So well composed. That arabesque she does is amazing. I really enjoyed how the 2 dancers never broke from their respective styles/genres of dance.
When we strip back what makes us different on the outside, it shows us that we are fundamentally the same on the inside... A beautiful piece.

A beautiful demonstration of how we can find ourselves within our differences 💕
Beautiful!! Love it!
thank You. this tears of emotions are carees for the soul.
And this is how contemporary was formed
So graceful! Individualistic yet intimate.

From ballet and hip hop it ends a contemprorary.
Two magnificent world of dancing, when they are connected you can see the beauty in it.

Bravo je ne pensais pas que ce mélange serait finalement si harmonieux. J'admire votre audace !
The pure beauty of dance is just breath-taking. If I could choose anything in this world before I die, it would be to die dancing!
Bellissimo! Dance, music and video a superb match!
