@@panthxrr7802 if anything they should do it on the rus. They actually had contact with the rest of europe so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what the game features but itd still be so bad
First off: the ninja's form of hand to hand fighting was called Taijutsu which literally means (unarmed combat) it didn't follow any rules, it was anything goes and was a last resort. Secondly: yes the ninja did cover themselves head to toe in dark clothing, but only at night, because it made them difficult to spot. They only wore disguises during the day to blend in. These two methods are called Yonin which means (sunlight secret) work that's done in the day under disguise. This kind of work involved Intel gathering & sabotage. The other is Inin which means (shadow secret) this is work that's done at night under cover of darkness and usually involves infiltration, assassination & arson.
Real shinobi never had a uniform. Instead they blend in on where the assassination will take place. The stereotypical ninja dressed in black was actually made by Hollywood itself.
Actually Karate came from the Ryukyu Kingdom, around the 17th century. It came to Japan in the 1920s Also Taijutsu overall means “body technique” or “body skill”. Basically any fighting using any empty-hand combat skill could count as Taijutsu. Taijutsu itself is similar to Karate, but is more focused on the body techniques.
Ironically though, Hollywood bright upon the population of Ninjas to the point that Japan moreso now embrace the history of Ninjas. Not to say they wouldn't have if that wasn't the case, but museums and such where constructed in the rise of popularity from Hollywood (despite how inaccurate those movies where lol).
It was actually the Edo period and Japanese authors that exaggerated and romanticized Shinobi and samurai, the west just added to what they already made up.
Ninjutsu was not just a martial art to defend and attack one enemy. Ninjutsu was a way of life for the ninja. ninjutsu started out as a self-defense against corrupt Samuri and kings back then, but ninjutsu evolved to become used for assassinations for money. ninjutsu is a very honorable martial art. you not just learn how to defend oneself but how to live as the best you that you can be. people now days say that ninjas really no longer exist but that is not true. go visit the ninja museum in Japan. the dictator is one of the last real traditional ninjas still alive training others who truly want to learn and live as an authentic ninja. traditional real ninjutsu is not easy to learn and there are no belts. even if you study all your life no one will ever completely master real traditional ninjutsu.
I wouldn't call it dirty warfare it just more strategic .. exploiting weakness... think of it like this.. lets say you go to cut down a tree and you notice it has a gash in it or a decaying spot... would you cut there or would you start all over at a strong healthy part of said tree
Ninjas are popular in the 80s and 90s, thanks to cartoons such as Ninja Turtles and Japanese dramas, every kids back then want to be a ninja. Then their popularity declined in the 2000 and above, many people started to argue about ninjutsu, history vs myth, peoples nowadays are no fun.
The swords were straighter in contrast to a katana due to ninjas not having enough money to buy a proper katana or have the state of art to create one. When they killed samurais they took the katana.
In case someone might be interested, the actual Ninjutsu, today Bunjinkan, grandmaster Hatsumi Masaaki has written many books. The master before him, formerly an actaul active Shinobi, Takamatsu Toshitsugu, as well.
@@jacobyoakum6498Your are mistaken. I don't know where you get such fantasies. He is commonly reagarded in Japan and beyond as 'The Living Legend'. The award, the highest honor given for cultural exchange, was presented to Dr. Hatsumi by a member of the Imperial Household on November 22, 1999.
I know I'm replying two years late, but Hatsumi is a complete fake. The Bujinkan has absolutely nothing to do with original, authentic ninjutsu or any kind of martial arts (except maybe a bit of Kukishin ryu). Everyone in the budo community and academia both in Japan and abroad knows this. Ninjutsu is not a fighting art, it's the art of spying, sneaking and gathering information, arson, making poison and medicine, etc. There is no surviving ninjutsu school today. In fact, there were no ninjutsu schools in which people dedicated their lives to ninjutsu, it was just one element of the koryu bujutsu schools (for instance, Katori Shinto Ryu has a ninjutsu segment - it's about the weather and some esoteric Buddhist practices, and that's it). There were some very good experts in ninjutsu in Iga and Koka but that tradition died out well before the Meiji restoration.
Hi See U in History, I love how you talked about ninjas and the samurai history. Can you create a video about ghouls, selkies or gregareans please? Thank you :)
I believe Kawakami, J. san when he says the primary role of the "Ninja" Shinobido was not Martial Arts, but info gatherers. "Ninja" ( spies, intelligence officers, etc. ) were used extensively by the Tokugawa shogunate.Famous example- Hanzo. Later, the japanese imperial forces used them internationally to gather information in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii ( to help plan their treacherous attack) , china and other asian countries. Even before 1941 ,many japanese came to work and live in the Philippines. They disguised themselves as farmers, gardeners, technicians, etc. Their real mission was to provide the japanese imperial army with info like disposition/ strength of the USAFFE etc. After the war, japanese saw the interest of westerners in "mystical " karate, samurai, manga -anime . Grabbing the opportunity, they developed them into huge US dollar earners. And so a new japanese tourist industry -ninja- was born.
I am Japanese. This video was very interesting. However, I think there was 40% of the wrong information. The black costume seems to stand out in the dark. When the ninjas acted at night, their costumes were inconspicuous brown in the dark. There should be no definitive information about ninja martial arts. Non-Japanese people and Japanese children and young people have illusions about ninja. I don't want to say that illusion is wrong. However, this video pretends to be factual. That's not good. But that may be unavoidable. Rather, I am proud that Japanese culture is loved by people all over the world. But I don't want people all over the world to misunderstand Japanese people. I just wanted to say that. Good job.
Hanzou shodai me (first) , was Hattori Yasunaga a shinobi no mono from Iga.The most famous Hanzou was the nidai me (second) Hanzou, Masashige, the Oni Hanzou of Inegawa Battle. Samurai = dead with honour, never run away Shinobi = not really care about honour, run away as long as you can survive and completing mission. Just my conclusion lol
A lot of these details aren't entirely correct, especially in regards to their martial training. For example: Aikido and Judo weren't around until long after the era of Shinobi and the Samurai. (Maybe they meant Aikijujutsu and Jujutsu, not Aikido and Judo.) While some Shinobi were trained in martial arts, it was usually (but not always) because said individual Shinobi were also originally born into the Samurai class, thus already having martial training with and without weapons. The term, "Taijutsu," refers to unarmed combat skills, and isn't a singular style all unto itself. I could go on, but I don't see much of a need to do so. Ninjutsu in and of itself referred to spying techniques and other skills that were imperative to a ninja's survival, not necessarily martial arts.
Surprisingly accurate but some things are still wrong. The samurai was a social cast meanwhile the shinobi was a job, so they were samurai that worked as shinobi.
Pretty hard running with a mask on, especially while you're doing something that have people looking for you. I played a couple of activities with friends that are in the dark and I like to wear my black zugoku uniform, I run in it all the time and hide and trying to catch your breath wearing a mask is irritating.
