  • We all know that some influencers take advantage of people for the dopamine rush that comes from social media popularity. The latest horrific example of this is the streamer Natalie Reynolds. Let’s talk about it.

Forget who, but their is a case of an influencer posting all their crimes and current location to social media... seeing his defense was amusing, like the officers would use social media videos they posted as evidence.

I worked with two "adults" that both went to the same highschool together years before. They never outgrew the bullying either because they decided to talk and laugh about "how fun they used to be" because they shoved a boy in the trashcan every day till he finally just started jumping in for them. Their words not mine.
Needless to say everyone in our department hated them even MORE after that.

@user-vl6dc2mc8hyour comment is sweet, and I hope people are able to see your heartfelt, good intentions and that they don’t say mean things because they believe differently than you.
When I was in 7th or 8th grade, my father disowned me. My dad had told me over the phone, “you know what? I’m done, I’m so done with you. Don’t ever call or text me again. Don’t ever show up at my house. I don’t want anything to do with you ever again.” I was so hurt that I was basically numb for several weeks. I didn’t laugh, or cry, or anything really at all for those several weeks. I would sit in class and just count the bricks on the walls.
I had a best friend whose family went to church every Sunday (mine didn’t). I spent a lot of my weekends with their family, so I was going to church with them on Sunday mornings.
The sermon that was able to break through my emotional shutdown was about God’s love for us, how He is our Heavenly Father, how His love for us is unconditional. After hearing that sermon, I accepted that my father and I were never going to be on good terms, even if we ended up being involved again later on. While that realization was painful, I didn’t feel the hurt like I had been. I felt this total calmness, this amazing serene peace. I felt like I was going to be okay, and that it was okay that things weren’t working out with my dad. They never really had, but I always had this painfully optimistic hope about him, even though I always got hurt and treated like it was my own fault that we didn’t have a good relationship.
I genuinely believe that there is a Higher Power, whether that be God or The Universe or whatever anyone calls it. I think we have different names for the same type of connection.
Anyway, sorry for the long reply. I just appreciate what you commented and I wanted to share that I have felt what you described. I think it’s sweet that you want to lead others to those super positive, uplifting experiences. I hope you are well! ❤

If you recall the youtube channel 'daddy o five' (or whatever the hell it was called), I think it ended with arrests for the adults involved on abuse. So there are instances where the incentives of youtube result in monstrous behavior. And even if stuff is staged there would be the problem of imitators. Ages back, people filming stunts with guns resulted in an imitator killing her boyfriend when it turned out a desert eagle was more powerful than they predicted. A fake robbery for youtube got someone shot a couple years back (Timothy Wilks).
The predictability of public spaces is what allows you to navigate them. They aren't just messing with strangers. They're messing with the social order that keeps you safe. And there are more cases where authorities have been called. In some cases repeatedly. I hate it. The whole thing is punishing society for its good manners in not breaking their legs.

I've watched several commentaries on this particular incident & you are the first I've seen to have recognised how problematic and stigmatising it is to flippantly make statements pertaining to unaliving oneself and MHI. For those of us who struggle to find the motivation to exist at times, it completely devalues our experience/s.
This reprehensible individual and her sychophants appear to thrive off of exploiting the vulnerable; from children, those without stable housing, animals, to those living with various health challenges. Every individual deserves to feel safe. I hope Natalie's cronies are also exposed as they too are complicit. To laugh at or mock another person's distress, trauma or suffering falls far short of moral and ethical standards.

I remember there was this girl in high school (she is sweet, don't get me wrong) but she said she had social phobia, but she didn't even have that, she went to parties and everything. I was struggling A LOT with social phobia, I couldn't even join my family to go to a restaurant because I was that scared. I could barely go anywhere except my school. And I HATED taking the bus, with a strong HATE. I was always sweating and looking down because of the anxiety at the time.
Also, I always joke about my mental health, cause I have bipolar disorder, and I'm joking about it cause it's a way to get away from it. But now it's a trend to have a mental health disorder... like what? I would do anything to get rid of this, even though medicine has helped TREMENDOUSLY. There was a girl who did that in NYC, and she was with a guy filming her. Cops arrested both of them at gun point because the guy was getting hostile
and charged them both with indecent exposure and child endangerment, because there were children within the isle as well in the store. The girl had a thong & see through bra.
Another situation in NYC with another girl, she was twerking her butt at a 5-year-old child. Cops arrested her and charged her with sexual assault to a child.
Other people tried to intervene and prevent the cops from arresting her. In the end, 7 people got arrested and charged, and the child went to CPS.
CPS found out that the child was adopted by the girl when cops told CPS the girl twerking at the child while in a thong bumping the child's face with her butt, as took the child away.
The girl and her family are permanently banned by CPS from ever adopting again. The state also stopped all of her state payments they were giving the family to take care of the child.
In the end, she was brought up on 19 charges against the child, when police went to this girl's house and did even more investigations.
During the investigations by the detectives, it was found out that it was a trend from TikTok. Where people would be almost naked and twerking
in faces of children to get reactions from the surrounding crowds and the child themselves as they were being twerked at.
Now, NYC passed a stricter law that now allows the state agency to investigate anyone adopting a child to have their social medias checked online,
the agency has been given permission to take photos of people adopting children, and doing a reverse check on the internet and social media
before they are allowed to even proceed to have permission to adopt a child. CPS said ANYONE in the family no matter who they are if they have anything
that adopting agency don't like on the internet aka social media, the family will not be allowed to adopt and will be permanently banned statewide from doing so,
as well as that, family will be reported to city agencies if they view a child is being endangered.
CPS considers twerking at a child, child endangerment, as well as many other behaviors from adults towards children.

Brett, I love your work. I love what you stand for. I love all of that. As a new high school grad, I would not go to GCU. It's a "Christian" university, but not in the way you think. They're progressive Christians and one of the top party schools in the NATION. And it's not really private. They don't even require you to go to church or be Christian to get in. Would not recommend, they're fake. I've seen it firsthand and heard stories from my sister's Christian friends who go there.

I wonder if there are any major universities in Arizona that aren’t party schools. I also remember one time I was taking an Uber ride home from ASU’s west valley campus. My driver told me about this time he had to pick up a few students from GCU, and was surprised about how many female students were scantily clad. He expected that from ASU students, but not GCU students.

@@grahamturner2640 The only party school that I am aware of is ASU, and their polytechnic campus is quite focused on academics. Even UA is a more serious school. I am not sure about NAU, however, but it does turn out loads of liberal fruitcakes. It is probably a bit of a stretch to call GCU a party school, but maybe a cultural christian (small C) school? Arizona Christian University is definitely not a party school.

Do not go to GCU if you want to pursue a teaching degree. I've been working in education for 8+ years, and GCU REFUSES to let me use my own classroom for student teaching and will not allow me to use my years of teaching experience to count toward student teaching. As the primary breadwinner of my family, I went to GCU Online with the understanding that it would be more flexible for my family, but that has not been the case.
I signed another 2 year contract at my school, and GCU's response was to tell me to QUIT my job in 2 years to do student teaching. Doing so would put me in financial ruin. Don't make the same mistakes I made, DO NOT GO TO GCU.

When i was in high school i was riding in a car with a few of my classmates, they weren’t really friends but i was riding with them because of some group thing we were doing at the time… anyways these were some pretty well off kids. I was one of the few that didnt come from the gated communities (this is socal btw… and I think that’s relevant because its telling of how socal kids have always been raised) but they drove past some older woman i think and i guess they had some issue with that car because they decided to drive up next to them and dump a full large soda out the window… throwing it on their car and driving off and laughing. I thought it was pretty gross even as a kid back then who was always eager to fit in. Meanwhile i have some family members that come from some broken homes that would absolutely do the same thing. The common theme is a lack of empathy towards others whatsoever and finding the most scumbag behavior and mean things to just be entirely hilarious to them.
These two groups of people from opposite sides of the class spectrum have one thing in common: uninvolved parents. Yeah with the well off kids they have far more access to better education and resources of all kinds but their parents usually just use their money to offload the “burden” of having to raise their children… and usually they both have multiple divorces in common too. So… kids become pawns and their needs put last as well as showing some pretty ugly behavior in front of their kids to emulate.
But nowadays even decent people arent showing up to parent as much anymore because they HAVE to work or because when they’re there… theyre on their devices instead of being involved in their kids lives. And they give them full reign online… its pretty gross. But all that to say… these kinds of kids have been around for a very long time… its just getting more and more rewarded by society because of social media algorithms… its BS… we keep talking and talking about it but nothing ever ever changes…

I have a "friend" who keeps telling me they "want to shoot themselves" or "kill themselves" etc constantly just because their school ends in 4 days which is "too long to wait." Bro. That is not okay, it's disgusting to say that just because you're tired and you're being overdramatic. Is what I want to tell them. It's difficult, though, because I'm just a kid and most kids my age isn't mentally mature enough to understand what they're doing and won't grasp why I'm annoyed with them, and rather deal with the situation properly, they'll drop me and gossip with their friends online about how mean I am for one statement.
I have a suicidal parent, none of my friends know of course, but how do you think that makes me feel when she's complaining about how "bad" her life is and then saying she wants to shoot herself? Or stab herself with a knife? Just because she's tired?

I understand how frustrating this is. When I was young I lost my father at 12 years old. I was going through a lot but tried to put on a brave face. One of my best friends would cry to me every day and tell me she would cut herself because she had an argument with her mom. The reason? She was 12 and her mom wouldn't let her date a 17 year old. She would say the same thing "I want to kill myself!". It was incredibly frustrating.
An older friend explained it in the best terms possible. My world was a lot bigger then hers, so her problem was very small to me. Her world was half my size, so what seemed like a small problem to me, was huge for her. It's all about perception. It might be frustrating, but you cannot change someone's perception. Only life can do that. Unfortunately our world's got bigger at a much younger age.
