Everyone was incredible (as always) but yunho and seonghwa really stood out to me, they were soo amazing. Honestly, what a talented and well rounded group.
One thing I love about Ateez is - here we are - going into 6 years after debut, and you can tell they still PREPARE for each project with thoughtfulness & intention. They're not just singing these well known songs in a standard, typical, "good" way. They want it to be interesting content, adding effort bc they value the channel & staffs time. They're thinking of Atiny. And people new to them. (Whether for Coachella crowds, or k-variety show lovers.) They're still hungry & appreciative, so won't just settle on good enough. They want people to see they're growing & truly working at evolving as artists. Sooo rare.
It’s so refreshing to see someone as talented like jongho and still want and have the desire to improve even tho when he is already amazing ,some idol should take note 👀
Thank you for appreciating Yunho's criminally underrated vocals and also casually completely nailing why his aura just like, effervesces attractiveness?
San explained he had to change the way he sang when his vocal cords started bleeding. He was singing too high ( and maybe had the wrong technique) and changed to a lower tone so he said he couldn't sing their old songs the way he used to. Keep the Ateez reactions coming. Thanks.

The best part was when you realized how much of their discography you like and how well their music has aged. I wonder whether the unconventional parts of their music are the parts that make you dislike so much of their music on the first go but also make their songs timeless like the clarinet you dislike in Work. No one will hear it in ten years and think "that's so mid 2020s." I think you should relisten to the album with that in mind. Seonghwa actually deserved praise for his high note in Utopia. Since it's release, he's only been able to hit it breathily. It sounded ethereal, so it worked for the song, but I've never heard him hit it with so much sound before. He's making great progress as are Wooyoung and Yeosang. They sing so much more confidently these days. I'm proud of them. Thanks for the reaction! ❤
Nah, there's some things I just know I don't like hahaha and that clarinet and work is just one of them. It's the rhythm and English lyrics for the chorus I immediately don't like, very p1harmony adjacent and feels very trendy.
I’m not sure how much you keep up with the lore, but it’s interesting that you say the clarinet in Work sounds sad because I think it was meant to have this sad or more serious undertone. In the lore for this album, it skips ahead 3 years and they’ve all drifted apart and gone down separate paths because ATEEZ wasn’t successful in World A. So I think Work, when read with the lore, is actually about how they drifted apart and went down different career paths because at the end of the day you have to work to make a living. So sometimes that means giving up your dream and I think the intro Golden Hour points out how to cope with the loss of this dream by looking for joy in the moments in life that we often take for granted.
It actually did! There were a few references to their new career paths. I think Jongho was buried and kept in the ground to symbolize how he was essentially left behind by the others and continued a career in music where he trained idols. Yeosang became a rich investor (hence the calculator, the money, and the chicken laying the golden eggs). Mingi became a rich model and fashion influencer, which is why I think his outfits were the most flashy and extravagant and he was always surrounded by money. Wooyoung became a flight attendant and the plane flies over him in the mv. There may have been references to the others careers that I haven’t seen yet, but here are the rest of their careers. Hongjoong wrote a blog about their adventures in World Z that became a bestselling book (that Yeosang secretly invested in). Yunho is traveling the world looking for the next adventure so he can feel like a hero again. San opened up a food truck and travels everywhere enjoying the little (golden) moments in life. And, Seonghwa became a firefighter that saves people to help him cope with all the people he couldn’t save in World Z.
Have you listened to the smoothing harmonies version of Treasure? That song makes me soar. Jongho’s coach is the daughter of Michael Jackson’s coach. It is amazing how Ateez only has good songs and known to all, all are wonderful and self -astral, they are songs that give you chills listening to their voices live, which precedes in studio, jongho my dear, your vocal makes me levitate, wow. .. And Mingi was sick, so he was drinking more water, he was disrupted that his voice fails, but gave a show.Vocal kings, dance kings, performance kings. I would recommend when watching the MV's to also watch the dance practices to see how good the choreo is, and how well they dance/perform. I haven’t been able to stop listening to Empty Box from the new album. I need it to be 3x longer than it is. It’s my new Turbulence. I love their up tempo songs but when they SING to me like that it hits my soul.
With ATEEZ, I feel like they're such great performers that even songs you may skip on the album would be enjoyable live. Their passion and energy are so infectious that it's still worthwhile. I find that there are many songs that I only enjoy as a live performance or even just with the music video that I will skip on Spotify sometimes or even end up removing later. Especially with a group like ATEEZ, while I don't like all their songs themselves, I've yet to see any performance of theirs I did not enjoy.
Hi, I love your commentary reactions and I would really like to see you react to each of their solo covers, such as Hongjoong's "Lemon tree" and Yeosang's "Hug Me" videos. San and Seongwha have some beautiful one's as well if your looking for like light feel. Thank you for appreciating Ateez!!
The best way I can explain my reaction when I first heard treasure on killing voice is by explaining the meme of SpongeBob ascending with earbuds on in front of the gates to Heaven
Love your thoughts on this and I am definitely running to go sub to your Patreon. Otherwise, I got so emotional watching this the first time. I do wish they had done Mist though. Like they all sound gorgeous during it but give Wooyoung his big moment
ive been saying this since they were in kingdom there is no male singer in kpop who does falsettos as clean as san's and im so glad you noticed that too!
Finally someone mentions San in Kingdom, that was the first time I heard Ateez and I fell in love with: I just wanna make you groove!! and from there he is my bias, I had not heard a falsetto as beautiful as that.
what's also different with jongho here is he keeps his eyes closed when belting as opposed to that death stare when they perform in shows i feel like that helps give a little more soul a little more flavor and passion
i mean theyre usually dancing when they perform so he has to keep his eyes open if he missed a step considering how often they change formations but in here theyre just standing and vibing where he can comfortably close his eyes.
@@ichhimaii1956 umm no jongho usually stands in the center of the formation body facing his 3 o'clock, face on 12 when he does his belts with the stare 😂
Jongho Vocal King. A lot of people complain that Jongho is only Hight Notes but here he demostrate he can sing in all ranges, particulaty in the las album. He do not any Hight Notes and he sound heavenly
I took one of my best friends with me to see Ateez last year and her jaw was on the floor every single time Jongho opened his mouth. We couldn’t stop talking about it 😂 just absolutely spectacular.
i get what you're saying with the songs from the new album, though I think we should give them some time to breath - of course they'll be more comfy and ready to play around with songs they've been performed a bunch of times already, gotta feel it out with the new ones first /nm
I definitely agree! I think their trying something different but not sure where it’s going to for now still excited for their future comeback and albums
yeah i watched them explained it in Jonathan's show (forgot the show's name) and i think San or Seonghwa explained that they were trying new stuff and make it more easy listening and easy to dance to, compare to their older songs
Oooh nice question. I'd always loved singing as a kid and it was something we did as a family but really Mariah Carey made me obsessed with what voices can do and from then I(around 2004), I really got in to music/singing then I went to music college etc
Me too but I also get why they mostly did their title tracks but I wanted Mist, Be With You, Dune and others. Hongjoong said they wanted to do about 3 episodes worth of songs so yeah I want a part 2 and 3.
For me, I felt like they teased too much of Work. So when the song actually dropped, it felt lacklustre because I felt like I had already heard and seen everything. I would've LOVED to be surprised on the day of release by Hongjoong saying he got a fur coat so he makes it purr, or Yeosang hugging a chicken. And because the song stayed the same with no unpredicted beat drops or switch-ups, and I saw all of the surprising elements of the MV beforehand, I was like "but I've already seen majority of this already".
I hear what you’re saying. I liked Work, but when I listened to the full song, it felt anticlimactic to me. The surprise for me was how much I loved Shaboom, as I didn’t like the song at all from the teaser.
Omg thank you! I am glad you could break down how incredible this was. They are unmatched. Also, I love you kept getting excited and swearing like crazy. It was hilarious, but also me.
watching your analysis and the video itself, i have to say i am so impressed and grateful that the members keep on improving themselves. i feel that with newer groups, the focus is on dance and looks so the vocals always fall short so to have a group already be this AMAZING and excel in everything but still taking the time for lessons (whether vocals or dance) is so refreshing and makes me extremely happy to be atiny ♡

they literally worked jongho out, doing high notes back to back and he still ate all those notes up, this man 👏👏 also he looks so damn goood
yunho's vocals are criminally underrated, and i LOVE when he and Yeosang sing together like their part in Turbulence
ive been saying this since they were in kingdom there is no male singer in kpop who does falsettos as clean as san's and im so glad you noticed that too!
YOU GET IT!!!
YES
Ok but Lee Know?
There are several actually. But I love San.
IUDCHSUH Death stare omg!!! SO TRUE
Stop 😭😭 why is this so true
i mean theyre usually dancing when they perform so he has to keep his eyes open if he missed a step considering how often they change formations but in here theyre just standing and vibing where he can comfortably close his eyes.
@@ichhimaii1956it’s just a joke hehehe
@@ichhimaii1956 umm no jongho usually stands in the center of the formation body facing his 3 o'clock, face on 12 when he does his belts with the stare 😂
It IS my favorite Killing Voice of Kpop Male Groups!!!!! I f**kιη loved it!!!!!!!!!
Whatever jongho is doing he needs to keep doing it …. He’ll literally become a prominent Kpop top vocalist
Jongho Vocal King. A lot of people complain that Jongho is only Hight Notes but here he demostrate he can sing in all ranges, particulaty in the las album. He do not any Hight Notes and he sound heavenly
Seonghwa’s vocals are so underrated…his singing conveys emotion so well ❤❤
especially that Utopia high note wow
I took one of my best friends with me to see Ateez last year and her jaw was on the floor every single time Jongho opened his mouth. We couldn’t stop talking about it 😂 just absolutely spectacular.
32:25 "I need Yunho biblically" me too man
" They do every song that I like? Oh maybe I like all of ateez music " yep yep
So me!
From left to right (For those who have no idea about them) :
JONGHO (Maknae), SAN, WOOYOUNG, YEOSANG, HONGJOONG (Captain), YUNHO, MINGI and SEONGHWA.
The way you always lose it with Yunho always cracks me up. Is always one of the best parts of your ateez's reaction ❤
Hahaha thank you
So true! Something I always anticipate as well for every Ateez reaction. My Hottoek heart is exploding. 😂
Wooyoung has been surprising me with his growing vocal technique and abilities!
i didn't really like Work at first bc it feels a bit.. flat? if that makes sense, but honestly the more i listen to it the more fun im having with it
treasure reaction was so real, best song ever
i get what you're saying with the songs from the new album, though I think we should give them some time to breath - of course they'll be more comfy and ready to play around with songs they've been performed a bunch of times already, gotta feel it out with the new ones first /nm
I definitely agree! I think their trying something different but not sure where it’s going to for now still excited for their future comeback and albums
I speculate and mention this in full in my reaction.
yeah i watched them explained it in Jonathan's show (forgot the show's name) and i think San or Seonghwa explained that they were trying new stuff and make it more easy listening and easy to dance to, compare to their older songs
Get in line for Yunho 🙄 (I agree 100%)
Treasure out the closet I could cry 😢 also how did you get into singing idk if you’ve said before
Oooh nice question. I'd always loved singing as a kid and it was something we did as a family but really Mariah Carey made me obsessed with what voices can do and from then I(around 2004), I really got in to music/singing then I went to music college etc
@@Koko3op ooo it’s perfect then that you get to do videos like this since you’ve always loved singing!
I think they are the first 4 generation of K-pop that perform here😮
First 4th gen boy group. I think a 4th gen girl group has done one but not sure which group.
It’s a huge flex.
I mean boy group 😂 it's gidle
Yunho is my husband fr like that's the loml
13:48 The way I started giggling with you in unison at this moment 🤭🤭
Hahahaha
I needed more bsides! Killing voice let's do another just for bsides
Me too but I also get why they mostly did their title tracks but I wanted Mist, Be With You, Dune and others. Hongjoong said they wanted to do about 3 episodes worth of songs so yeah I want a part 2 and 3.
in mingi's live he spoke about how he was still sick when they recorded this video so
Yunho shows how to sing as a MAIN DANCER 🔥 and love your reaction videos
I really love listening to Ateez with you! You never miss the details!
They all have the best voices
JUST WOAH!!! Their energy? their harmonization? them even doing the ad-libs??? yeah... WE NEED ATEEZ KILLING VOICE PT.2!!!!!
No Inception, No Halazia smh Im hurt
MINGI JONGHO AND SAN KILLED IT
인정
Atz allergic to they bsides 😭😭. But they so freaking talented
Yesss that can happen too tbh.
Glad you enjoyed!
watching your analysis and the video itself, i have to say i am so impressed and grateful that the members keep on improving themselves. i feel that with newer groups, the focus is on dance and looks so the vocals always fall short so to have a group already be this AMAZING and excel in everything but still taking the time for lessons (whether vocals or dance) is so refreshing and makes me extremely happy to be atiny ♡
