- This video shows how the Lane Tracing Assist and Lane Change Assist works on the 2022 Lexus NX. Lane Change Assist allows the vehicle to perform a driver-triggered and monitored lane change using the front camera and radars when Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is in use. In short, it helps automatically change lanes when safe to do so.

Thank you for making this video. Really enjoyed the mutli camera approach!
Thanks for watching.
I've enjoyed all your videos.
Thank you!
thanks for making this video that nobody else did. I see the system 3.0 is only a bit better than my 2.0 Rx 450h except mine doesn't have traffic sign recognition and lane change assist. Safety system 3.5 or 4.0 on the Rz will be difference. It will come Advance Driver Assist with Traffic Jam Assist. Self steering will no longer require driver's hand on or touch the steering wheel and will dose the steer at even a big curve such as off ramp.
My biggest issue is the off-ramp where it follows the ramp and not the highway. The slow down and start up in traffic jams have improved in this version. It's more natural and not quickly trying to reach the set speed and then slam on the brakes when you approach the car in front of you. You can set how aggressive it will accelerate in the settings.
Looking forward in seeing LSS+ 3.5 or 4.0 and most likely teammate will be coming with the newer vehicles. Just not sure if they will so quickly bring a new version as the new LX is only 2.5
@@lsft So the Off-ramp steering pulling is not corrected yet, My Rx does the same. Teammate is already available on the Nx executive package only for now, they have Advance Park, that's the Teammate (10% teammate, I would say). The full version Teammate will be available on the LS 500h in the end of 2022, then will come in along with all the Lexus with the top trim (except for the F Sport package, I don't know why either. In Japan, they can have it on F sport, but not in North America).
Lx will stay like this for at least another 6 years as it is the OFF ROAD version, there will be no Teammate or Advance Park on it. It is the Legendary Lexus.
But for sure, Teammate will be available on the Rz 450h and 450e.
Is that also available to nx 350 f sport?
Yes. But it depends on what features you have. It is not standard for the lane change assist. Lane tracing is standard.
Well explained
Great video, thanks for doing this review!
Have you used the lane trace assist, or "ProPilot Assist" on the newer Nissan Rogue? For MY2021, the Nissan system seemed to be leaps and bounds ahead of Honda and Ford when it came to this technology. I wonder how Lexus / Toyota stack up to Nissan's latest tech.
No, I haven't used Nissan's ProPilot Assist, but I think it's comparable. I am able to drive with very little stress when using the lane trace assist.
Thanks for the LTA review! Question: will lane tracing assist work even without adaptive cruise? With KIA/Hyundai, the lane tracing assist can always be on-- which is really nice. Thanks!
The car without adaptive cruise control will still prevent you from crossing lanes and will adjust to keep you within the lane. However if you insist on getting out of the lane the car will allow you. It will either vibrate the steering wheel or beep depending on the settings.
@LSFT wow thats great news LSFT. Glad the car will stay in the lane with LTA. Does it "ping pong" in the lane or does it generally stay centered in the lane? Thanks!
@@R56Cooper I have not personally try and let go of the wheel. I think it will have the ping pong effect as it tries to stay within the lane.
@LSFT I see, well thank you for the observations-- will have to go for a test drive and check it out!
It does not ping pong. How did you not test it when you where driving it, shouldn’t guess when you are wrong.
Great content, thanks!
Im getting my 2022 IS F-Sport next week, do you think it has this feature?
The IS gets LSS+ 2.5
Which includes:
LANE DEPARTURE ALERT (LDA) WITH STEERING ASSIST (LTA)
Lane Departure Alert Function by Lane Markers
Steering Assist with Enhanced Line & Road Recognition
Steering Vibration
Vehicle Sway Warning
ALL-SPEED DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL WITH CURVE SPEED MANAGEMENT (DRCC)
PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM (PCS) WITH PEDESTRIAN DETECTION
Frontal Collision Warning (FCW)
Left Turn Intersection Support (LTIS)
Emergency Steering Assist (ESA)
Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
Pedestrian Detection
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM (AHB)
It does not have the Lane change assist feature, but does have the adaptive cruise with the curve speed management. The NX comes with a newer version of the LSS system (3.0)
@@lsft thanks alot!
Thx for another good video. I always get a message in my dashbord that say lca is unavaleble in this speed. I have tried different speed, but the same message. Have you ever got this message, is there a setting in the menu. this is in Norway.
My pleasure. Lane Change assist only works between: approximately 55 and 85 mph (90 and 140 km/h). If you try at other speeds, you will get that message. I have seen it myself when my cruise speed is slower than that.
Awesome video! I just wanted to ask, do you know how to get the ev driving mode ratio on the car’s dashboard?Thank you!
I used to have it, but I don’t know what I touched, and It disappeared.
It only shows up after you power off. You have to wait for it to show up. I don't know how to get it to show in other situations.
@@lsft 非常感谢🙏

Question, I have this option on my 2023 I just got. Do you have to hold the turning lever or just slighting press it and it blinks three times?
I have another video on this topic.. You can watch it here. A slight press would just blink the blinker 3 times ( that could be changed up to 7 times when you get set the personalization at your first inspection visit).
You can watch the reboot video on the Lane Change Assist: ruclips.net/video/HTsPB1Agqbw/видео.html
Great review. THX^^
My pleasure
hello there! thanks for the video. Can I ask you if the LCA is available for Nx 450+ Fsport variant?
My NX450h+ F-Sport has Lane Change Assist. Depending on where you are, it will depend on the packages/trims.
@@lsft thanks for the fast reply! I thought all extras are the same for each type of car no matter where it will be sold. Btw, I'm actually getting myself the same colour as well :))
@@chavdar.dobrev No every country has specific options and packages.
Great taste when it comes to color!!🤣
Hmm wonder what I am doing wrong for my NX 350h LCA is not working at all. Everything is enabled.
What have you turned on? Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane change assist on the Lexus Interface, Lane Tracing assist.
When you have adaptive cruise control activated, then you press on the signal, but don't press it all the way. Keep holding on the signal until it tells you it is attempting the change.
In my recent adaptive cruise video, I've used it a few times. You can watch that video and see if that helps. If not, I'll do another video with greater detail.
@@lsft By not pressing the turn signal all the way down worked. Thank you for the assistance.
@@fan_cool_007 i think i need to do a follow up video on this... So clearly how it works.
It's same as me. LCA is not working on my NX350H
I liked the video. the explanation, the camera game, objective video. excellent content! 🇧🇷
Thank you
Boa sorte tentando usar essa tecnologia nas ruas do Brasil 😂
@@PabloTheThinker obrigado.
Is the adaptive cruise control always on, or do you have to turn it on each time?
You have to turn it on and set speed
@@lsft Thanks! So does the lane tracing and collision avoidance stop stay on all the time then?
@@PabloTheThinker Lane Tracing does not stay on. It only works when you are in cruise control. Lane Departure Alert stays on all the time (as long as you keep it on). Collision avoidance stop is on at all times.
@@lsft Thanks for the info!
Hi I have the new 2024 and I noticed two things, 1 it isn’t fuel efficient, 2 it always blows cold air even if AC is off. Do you have any background on this? Thanks
2024 what model? Is the outside air cool or hot?
@@lsft NX 350
NX 350 is the least fuel efficient of the 4 trims. You might need to let it break in before you get better efficiency. The air from the vents if AC is off, but do you have AUTO turned on?
@@lsft I tried everything, Auto and Off even shut down completely I still feel the air is cold.
@@bluwng if everything is off the outside air is coming it. I'll have to try later on to see
Hi! My car has a constant beeping noise that I can’t get rid of, do you possibly encounter a similar problem before?
When does it beep? While you drive?
@@lsft it beeps when it’s on a low speed
@@iwahju It only beeps when I'm close to objects. If you aren't sure you should check it out with your service department.
@@lsft got it thank you!
Is Lane Change Assist available on all NX models?
No, it's not available on all NXs. It's an add-on feature.
Great video. Thanks
Thanks!!
Maybe it's a silly question, but why would you need Lane Change Assist?
There is no silly questions. In some ways you are right - you don't need LCA. Typically it's a feature bundled with other features and it's a stepping stone to autonomous driving. When cars can drive itself, this is one thing it needs to do well in. If you are going on a long road trip, it's a helpful feature and not have to be too stressed in making a lane change when you cruise along the highway/freeway.
Unfortunately it looks like Australia doesn't get lane change assist on the 450h+. I'm a bit disappointed in that. ☹️. There's no option to enable it.
That sucks. Is it because the software is not compatible with the roads in Australia? Hmmh...
@@lsft yeah I'm not sure. Lexus Australia put some limitations on a few things compared to other countries. Like the 450h+ is only available in f sport and all options are locked. Ie there's only 1 450h+ model and you can choose the colours that's it. The car is still excellent, but I would have liked the option. We've only had it a week and I'm still learning a few things, but I definitely love it.
@@BrentonStringer glad you got your vehicle
You’re going pretty fast over 100 mph. Stay safe.
Km/h. Non mph ….
It's Km/hr. Plenty of people faster than me on that video. 😂😊
@@lsft lolz nobody drives 100/h on 401. They all go fly 140
That's why I had to bring it up to 115km/h so that I could do a lane change, or else people will be honking at me driving 100km/h and changing in front of them.
Hi, my car is NX 350h luxury. I follow all your steps and turn on lane change assist as well but I still don’t have the function. Do you know why? Any tricks?
At no point do you actually say what the lane change assist does.
Good point... Lane Change Assist allows the vehicle to perform a driver-triggered and monitored lane change using the front camera and radars when Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is in use. In short, helps automatically change lanes when safe to do so
