Love the concept of the fan on top because heat rises
He did have a point about the air convection cycle..The fans work harder with the mesh air flow rather than a solid closer.A 2 or 3u slotted panel at the bottom would be ideal for fresh air flow cycle🌬

Heat rises to the top of the rack weather you have vent or fans at the top you should be fine.

I use solid on my sound
cover the mesh door with cardboard now to accomplish the cfm test
That’s the intention. I will do just that when I put certain things in place.
The vented door is actually needed . Don’t change it , remember hot air rises so the fan up top will work fine no problem. The key most people to account for is displacement. That hot air the fan remove have to be replace to prevent a vacuum. The cooling comes from the circulation cool in hot out !

Good work Roots! I am picking up a lot of new ideas fallowing channel. I always have complete systems Pioneer, Kenwood over the last 40 years. I now at a point where $$ is not so restricted I am enjoying a new hobby! Don’t want to get into the sound business but want to have a nice system at home. I like to feel my Music 😊!
