Journey was my first game I’ve ever played on ps4 and it left a deep mark on me. I’ll love that game forever. I was absolutely thrilled when I found Sky ☺️❤️🔥🌸
2 other games that are somewhat similar are Spirit of The North and The Lost Ember They have really beautiful graphics and gameplay I've seen a youtuber play Unravel and immediately fell in love with it. Games like these are really my kind, sad that most of these aren't available for me
@@olivialucillemanayos6686 No, idk what last campfire is. I dont remember much of lost embers lore, but you basically play as a wolf who lived as a human in her past life. You also have a talking ball of light following you round lol. You just explore and gradually uncover the story. You have cool abilities as well
@@olivialucillemanayos6686 Lost ember is kinda cool, haven't played it yet, but I did follow it's development. You get to play as a bunch of different animals, shifting between them. I was hoping to find new games only to realize I’ve played all of these already 😭 lovely video tho ❤️ all of your picks where amazing and I agree they all have a sky vibe
Another one is “Rime” A game about going through the 5 stages of grief. A simple but beautiful style, enticing puzzle elements, and wonderful story telling. I highly recommend it.
Journey is a game made by TGC, so it's probably the most similar. I'm not discouraging you to play the others, but this is just for th people who want the most similar one possible
I played Journey first so Abzu and Sky feel like rip off ideas to me. Both made by similar people but the stories are the same. Discover world, learn the ways of the world, learn the ugly truths, fall into despair, defeat evilness and become invincible
@@angel_animefriends7320 I also felt a little like Sky was a ripoff of Journey, but I recognize Sky was the next step for the company. ABZU is unique enough with the different setting. Sky feels like Journey got a tune-up, which makes me a little sad but maybe my expectations for the dev team were too high. All of their games have been incredibly simple so far, which makes Sky feel too similar.
Aer is a really good game, i finished it twice and the story is really interesting, the only thing that bothers me is how quick it is, in 1 or 2 hours you can finish the entire game like even the hidden achievements, and the end can be confusing but it's really cute and nice to let off the stress of a long day
I played journey back in 2012 and wow if it’s still not one of my most favorite games ❤️❤️❤️ so heart achingly beautiful, immersive and incredibly moving
Omg yess!! I have one of these games actually, AER! I really want to try playing Journey too! (Actually the player character isn't called Aer, thats actually a lore thing that I don't want to spoil, her name is actually Auk
yeah, it's very similar to RiME (for those interested, I'd definitely recommend it; the story is amazing and the graphics are beautiful, the game is very poetic and is meant to resemble the stages of grief.)
Sky also reminds me of Rime in the aesthetics. Its the journey of a boy going through these worlds and solving puzzles. It's single player but there are creatures you befriend and at the end of the journey you feel this bitter sweetness... the same feeling I got after playing Journey. I am excited to try out Sky, It seems like a very fun game.
Thank you so much for this video. It was very beautiful ^^ Journey & AER (and Abzu at the third) are the most similar to Sky in my opinion. Other games I would associate with Sky would be Sword of the Sea (it seems like a mix between Jounery and Abzu) and Shadow of the Colossus: it's a wide map with no minor enemies and with symbols and ancient ruins that remind me to some extent of Sky. Also the eyes of the colossi are shiny like the characters in Sky.
Hey! I've been wanting to try Journey on my brothers ps4 and now I have more reasons to play it! Also thank you so much for these amazing recommendations, I really needed to try something new 💗
No problem! I also played it on PS4, and the visuals are stunning and the gameplay is amazing!! 🤗❤️❤️ I’m glad that this inspired you to try something new! 🥺❤️❤️
ABZU is often mistaken for a TGC game due to the similarities to Journey, and also because the OST for both is by Austin Wintory. (Journey has one of the best game OSTs in existence) If you make a follow up to this video, there are some more games that I think many Sky players would enjoy: The Pathless (same company behind ABZU. more action-oriented but the aesthetic is there & there's a flying mechanic) Bound (I think fans of Sky would really love the ballet-style movement of the player-character) story-driven "walking sim" games like Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, Gone Home probably any game published by Annapurna Interactive, tbh. aside from The Pathless & Bound, I wouldn't say the other games are "like sky" at at all, but the type of thing people like sky might also like, yknow?
Those are some really good suggestions! I will have to look into them, thank you!! 🤗❤️❤️ And it doesn’t matter if not all of them are 100% like sky; just the sort of vibe that players would enjoy 🥰 That’s why I put Unravel on the list: it’s not that similar, but I feel like people who like Sky would like it too 🤗🌟
If you are looking for a game thats alot like Sky I'd reccommend Oure! I actually started playing Sky because I was looking for games like Oure lol You fly around the clouds as a dragon and help re-awaken the ancients and bring light to the world. From the mechanics to the art style and music, I felt Sky deffinitly borrowed alot of its features from Oure, yet Oure is super underrated! 10/10 would reccommend! :D Great video Btw!
The game monument valley also reminded me of Sky too because of the aesthetics and little cape-character lol (but monument valley 2 reminded me of Sky even more)
I love sky because it's relaxing and the little moths are Soo cute. I love multiplayer games because I can hope to make a good friend someday. And I just love flying around lol
Speaking of unravel, apparently the lore of that game is that yarneys are literary storytelling devices, one yarneys doesn't tell the story of just one person, they are constantly reconnecting to people and telling their story, not just the story of the person who made them
Sky reminds me of the game Ico for some reason. I think it's the subtle way of telling the story, the environment is set in the future with ruins of the past and there is a character you meet that you guide by hand holding. I thought of this game after playing Sky as well as the Last Guardian game. I recommend for anyone wanting a calming but mysterious experience.
I absolutely agree with everyone mentioning GRIS! It's by far the most beautiful 2D game I've ever encountered, and that's coming from someone who's not really that huge on 2D games in general. I also have a feeling that people who enjoy all or most of the titles mentioned in this video and in the comments, are likely to enjoy The Last Campfire as well. Although it's not as meditative as most of the other titles here, they feel like kindred spirits to me, based on what I interpret as existential themes and text/subtext
You guys should check out Rime! 🥰 It's a story driven game with puzzles. It kinda reminds me of games like Abzu, Journey and The Last Guardian all mushed together. So it's sorta like sky. It has a really beautiful story and let me tell you, it left me in tears haha. 😅😅 It doesn't get much light and is often left in the shadows of other games. I just think it's super underated and deserves to be appreciated by more folk.
Fun fact: When you enter the office, go inside the building, turn right, go in the hall, and go to the room with the crabs in it, on the wall there is flower, journey and another game that I can’t read (Idk if this might go away soon but it’s just what I saw recently)
Was so excited to see this vid but sadly i knew already of all these games but on the up side i do agree these games are really amazin and wonderful like sky. But what males sky so much better is the ability to just be in game with friends chatting and sneaking into oob areas and just chilling playing music or being silly.
And Giantsquidstudios, should have a new game similar to Abzû, but a Sky cotl in the water, and the avatars should be based on mermaids, sirens, and selkies in an kingdom based on Atlantis.
I am a legend of zelda fan and when I first played sky I felt that well it felt inspired from zelda a little bit snd reminded me of legend of zelda but they have tons of differences…
I started watching this last night & fell asleep 😴 😐 woke up not long ago & restarted the video lol wow you really done a great job bringing other games to light that I hadn't heard of & would love to play 😀 unravel omg its to adorable 😍 AER I would have looked at the graphics an not given it a chance but seeing it the way you presented it is impressive & really makes me give thought to giving lesser graphic games a chance. Abzu I hadn't heard of either so I'll be researching these games to see best devices to play them on 🙃 I played flower 🌼 years ago when it first came out & loved it I also played journey & sky's older version light awaits so I've been with TGC a long time lol they do an amazing job with these game. Most don't realize what it really takes to produce a good game to be able to play on many devices. They have to tweak things just so androids can be compatible just like ios even down to your consoles each one has to have a different tweak to it for compatability. So when I see ppl complaining over a FREE game like these it makes me mad lol I know what it takes & the money spent just for us to play for free so guess I can appreciate the small things more then some. TGC has a Documentary that was done on them I suggest anyone to try an find it an watch. It really brings to light who TGC really are & all that they have put into these games. Let me just say they poured their heart & soul onto it they are an amazing gaming company that listens & cares about their fans & players. They also give you some insight onto exactly how these games are made & the changes it takes for different platforms.
Thank you so much for your kind words! 🤗❤️ I’m so glad you found the video interesting, but also relaxing 🥰🥰 And yes! I also played flower a good few years ago, when I was a kid and it was my first experience with tgc and I honestly loved that game so much! 🌼🌸🤗 And yeah, I also totally agree. I’ve seen so many people complaining about sky and the seasons and the iaps, basically everything they can complain about and it does make me sad sometimes, because sky is a free game that has had so much love poured into it 😞❤️🥺 Thanks for your comment, and thanks for enjoying the video! 🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
The stories work as stand alone as well! 🤗❤️❤️ Unravel one doesn’t have as much of a story, it’s basically about yarney looking through old memories to reconnect a grandmother to her distanced family 🥰🌟 The second one has all the stuff with the two kids in the background, but I don’t think the first one has much (or any) of that, so you haven’t missed anything pivotal to the story, don’t worry! 🤗❤️
Another game I think fits into this category is The Lost Ember. Not only does it have beautiful graphics, but it also has many similar biomes. One of the last biomes you enter is a snowy biome, similar to Sky. Also, spoiler warning for Lost Ember from here on out. In Lost Ember, you play as a wolf who is trying to reach the City of Light. You meet another person (a small light source, to put it simply) who was also locked out of the city of Light. You, the wolf, are also able to shift your soul into another creature's body at will, and you can always return to your wolf form at anytime. You can take form of birds, goats, small burrowing creatures, and others. But, by far the most beautiful thing about this game is it's storytelling. Unfortunately, if I get into the story of the game, it will spoil it entirely. You can always go play it yourself, though! It's currently on the Nintendo Switch's eShop for (I think) $12.00(?). I might be wrong, though, as I bought it a while ago and have bad memory. Sorry if I forgot anything!
There was this one game that I just finished playing. Its called "Spiritfarer" and while I was playing it I noticed some similarities with Sky. So the story is that you are Stella who was just appointed as the Spiritfarer. You go on a ship anf then travel around many different islands to search for spirits whom requests you have to fulfill before you can bring them to their 'end'. And whenever you bring them to their end, you get their constellation. Its a really pretty and nice game. You guys should check it out. Its a pc game, unfortunately.
Hi! Few years ago I played exactly same game as sky , but in that game it was limited levels and no such memory spirit thing. But the game was almost same that even the thing that they wear or fly with was same. I wish to know that game but I couldn't find anywhere when I tried.
How about "Shelter" game series? Runes, atmosphere and design always kinda struck the same chord in me as ABZU and Sky did. After these games i just want to sit and think about infinity. They're like nourishment for the soul.
I’m glad that so many of you are enjoying this video!

You fly around the clouds as a dragon and help re-awaken the ancients and bring light to the world. From the mechanics to the art style and music, I felt Sky deffinitly borrowed alot of its features from Oure, yet Oure is super underrated! 10/10 would reccommend! :D
Great video Btw!
I think I have like, fear of the ocean and Abzu kinda hits different for me then Subnautica, I really like it
Same! I tried to play Subnautica, but it was a bit scary 😭😂❤️ It was really pretty though! I really adored the visuals! 🥰❤️🤗
Ooh I really want to play ABZU now! Great video!
The game monument valley also reminded me of Sky too because of the aesthetics and little cape-character lol (but monument valley 2 reminded me of Sky even more)
I've played AER for hours on end, it's a really cool game!
I love sky because it's relaxing and the little moths are Soo cute. I love multiplayer games because I can hope to make a good friend someday. And I just love flying around lol
Journey is the mother of sky 😂😂
Speaking of unravel, apparently the lore of that game is that yarneys are literary storytelling devices, one yarneys doesn't tell the story of just one person, they are constantly reconnecting to people and telling their story, not just the story of the person who made them
I have played Abzu and Aer and loved both of those games. Super Pretty and Fun!!
I’ve done unravel 1 and 2 and it’s a really sad but fun game
I got an ad about sky children of the light lol
Sky reminds me of the game Ico for some reason. I think it's the subtle way of telling the story, the environment is set in the future with ruins of the past and there is a character you meet that you guide by hand holding. I thought of this game after playing Sky as well as the Last Guardian game. I recommend for anyone wanting a calming but mysterious experience.
the pathless is really good too! it’s way longer than sky and journey though
Thank you! Awesome recs! Much appreciated!
Sky reminded me SO MUCH of Rime! It's SUCH a good story game (not an MMO) and is so similar to Sky.
I remember when Journey used to be trending on the ps store but now it's underrated 🤦♂️. I guess time really does change the way of life
You guys should check out Rime! 🥰
It's a story driven game with puzzles.
Yoooo nice!
I’ll be keeping these as a recommendation for the future!!
Fun fact: When you enter the office, go inside the building, turn right, go in the hall, and go to the room with the crabs in it, on the wall there is flower, journey and another game that I can’t read (Idk if this might go away soon but it’s just what I saw recently)
Oh I played unravel it was quite a pleasure really amazing game even with its scary moments very enjoyable and the little yarn is the cutest
Was so excited to see this vid but sadly i knew already of all these games but on the up side i do agree these games are really amazin and wonderful like sky. But what males sky so much better is the ability to just be in game with friends chatting and sneaking into oob areas and just chilling playing music or being silly.
I would definitely recommend Aer and abzû 🐟 🦈 🕊️
And Giantsquidstudios, should have a new game similar to Abzû, but a Sky cotl in the water, and the avatars should be based on mermaids, sirens, and selkies in an kingdom based on Atlantis.
@@meganlewis2377 I agree
@@Someoneisntthere yeah and other rivers, lakes and oceans!

@RZ - 05KJ 933657 Plowmans Park PS Glad I could help😊
You did an amazing job n this video, well done!
lol, once i glitched through sky and it had invisible water at the bottom
I'd recommend the last campfire, sky remindet me at the feeling of this cute looking game
First game I see that is similar to sky: Journey
Me: that is my childhood 😭
Honestly I kinda shock when you mentioned unravel lol
I’d also recommend Rime, although it’s more of a logic puzzle game than Sky is.
POV: ur in android 😓😥
Thanks for making this Video! I was looking for a game like sky since i can't play sky ( the game cannot run in my phone ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ) its really helpfull :D
I loved journey, it took me a while to complete the game, but I still loved it
Sword & Sworcery -- except it's not lighthearted, but it is beautiful, unique and honors sacrifice.
It was because of Journey that I use a Playstation gamepad on my mobile devices while playing Sky.
I’m eyeing Aer now.
there's actually a character in sky right now in the event that IS the character from journey. identical. if you talk to the blue event lady
I am a legend of zelda fan and when I first played sky I felt that well it felt inspired from zelda a little bit snd reminded me of legend of zelda but they have tons of differences…
Aw I was looking forward to these games but they cost money, none the less they look amazing ❤️
Abzu I hadn't heard of either so I'll be researching these games to see best devices to play them on 🙃
I played flower 🌼 years ago when it first came out & loved it I also played journey & sky's older version light awaits so I've been with TGC a long time lol they do an amazing job with these game.
🤗❤️ I’m so glad you found the video interesting, but also relaxing 🥰🥰
And yes! I also played flower a good few years ago, when I was a kid and it was my first experience with tgc and I honestly loved that game so much! 🌼🌸🤗
And yeah, I also totally agree. I’ve seen so many people complaining about sky and the seasons and the iaps, basically everything they can complain about and it does make me sad sometimes, because sky is a free game that has had so much love poured into it 😞❤️🥺
Thanks for your comment, and thanks for enjoying the video! 🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hope sky would have an underwater world map 😌😌🤔
I actually got unravel 2 without getting 1 so I don’t know the story 😅
The stories work as stand alone as well! 🤗❤️❤️ Unravel one doesn’t have as much of a story, it’s basically about yarney looking through old memories to reconnect a grandmother to her distanced family 🥰🌟 The second one has all the stuff with the two kids in the background, but I don’t think the first one has much (or any) of that, so you haven’t missed anything pivotal to the story, don’t worry! 🤗❤️
@@ValForestGramps ok thank you 😊
Journey should be on the list too!
Sky reminds me of stray cat doors and ferrel
Omg unravel is a really good game! I remember playing it a couple years ago
Fast as sonic 🏃♀️
I think the last campfire is kinda related to Sky because it uses fire and you can help some forlorns
I haven't even got far into sky yet but I think I've got another one and it's called haven you can get it on xbox
also flight. it's pretty much the same concept as sky bu you can turn into a bird. (flight by ashim shakya)
Its also somehow of a platformer game/cozy management type of thing. But more laid back.
Unravel looks good! Fun qnd simple
Bro.. The unravel games are so good get one of your siblings to play it with you its so fun-
Hi!
Few years ago I played exactly same game as sky , but in that game it was limited levels and no such memory spirit thing.
But the game was almost same that even the thing that they wear or fly with was same.
I wish to know that game but I couldn't find anywhere when I tried.
bruh sky is already underrated in ITSELF
also the characters in journey look kinda terrifying ngl
Lost Ember! This game is also similar to Sky, because of graphic and gameplay
How about "Shelter" game series? Runes, atmosphere and design always kinda struck the same chord in me as ABZU and Sky did.
After these games i just want to sit and think about infinity. They're like nourishment for the soul.
