- In this video we discuss how to laser engrave this jug with the PiBurn by either removing parts of the rotary and not having to change your steps or what the setup looks like when you use it like other tumblers and steps need to be adjusted. I show what the jug template looks like and how to set it up.

Great video my friend
Thank you Dan!
Great video!😊
Thank you Hope! I appreciate the comment
Thanks!
thank you so much for the donation. I really appreciate it!
I learn something from every single video you produce. I just assumed once my steps were calculated I never needed to change them. Luckily I have not had any issues with this yet. And after this video, I hopefully will never have one. Thanks for the "preventative education" today!
appreciate your comments!
It would be awesome if you could do a video on the various lenses. I didn't realize you could use a third party lens with the Thunder.
thanks for the suggestion
thank you kind sir i have just came across your channel i have learnt so much in these last few days
Glad to hear it, thank you for watching!
Thank you so much! We were just talking about needing more info on steps per rotation! Love your video..so informative!
Glad it was helpful!
I may have missed it but how exactly did you "calculate" your steps using the smaller neck? I just got my Pi Burn 4.0 with the add-on chuck and have never run a Rotary on my Boss Laser. I subscribed to your channel and have learned a lot. Thank you.
I would refer on how the steps are calculated on the pi burn web site. There is allot of ways to do it. Because what is setting on the drive wheels on the rotary is a different diameter than you engraving area steps must be recalculated

Great key tip at 9:50! Thank you always learning from you
I always appreciate you Michael!
Great informative video. Thank you for explaining. I do have a question? Why do you turn off the air assist? I’m still learning on my laser.
Be sure your air assist button is in the off position in lightburn
@@computercreationz okay. But can you explain the reason why this needs to be done.
@@shawnbrown8995 air assist is used for cutting only there really isn’t anything to blow away when engraving a tumbler. If you use air when engraving a tumbler you just blow all that vaporized material all over your laser that you have to clean later
Ok thank you for the information. Makes perfect since now. 👍
Thank you for this detailed video! I'm looking into getting a rotary tool for my laser and this gave some good tips between the lines.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent my friend this is a very good explanation about the use of rotary accessory, i'm a new subscriber
Thanks for the sub! and the comments. I appreciate it
Great information! Thank you!
Our pleasure!
Shouldn't you wipe those rollers after each one?
I don’t, no need to the only time I wipe my rollers is when I use ceramark spray, what out get on them?
I'm looking to buy a thunder nova 24 and piburn rotary and want to be able to do 1 gallon water bottles. Are you still using the 24" bed or is this a larger machine now? If it is larger do you know if it would fit in the 24" model?
yes you can you will need to remove the honeycomb and the slat bars and build up from the bottom. I would highly consider the piBurn grip. it works fantastic on large tumblers like that. I sold my 24 some time ago and have a 35-100 now. I reached out to someone that has the 24 and the grip to answer your question.
Thanks for your detailed explanation. I noticed in your previous videos you used the Thunder RotoBoss. Can you share the differences or the pros and cons of each one. I'm am considering purchasing a laser and am leaning towards Thunder. I want to also get a rotory with it, so I have to decide which rotory to purchase. Thanks for your help.
there both about the same cost, I gravitate to the piBurn it’s more streamlined and has a lower profile that the full Rotoboss. as far as performance they both work very well.
@@computercreationz Thank you. Keep the videos coming!👃
Do you always defocus to 11 mm when engraving or just with tumblers? Great video as usual I really appreciate it 👍
When I engrave I’m de focusing most of the time. Normal focus on this lens is 10.5
What dpi do you use? I always enjoy watching your informative articles.
318 for all tumblers
Thankyou.
Very informative. Where do you recommend to purchase a piburn? I think I want one now:)
