So I come on your page every time I need to refresh my brain. I came to try and find the video on how to do the math to space images on opposite sides of a tumbler. I’m forgetting a step. Then I start watching this, and learned about project notes. Once I finally find how to do the math I’ll put it on a project note for my template. So today I’m not only learning a wrap in between finding the video with the math, but I also learned about project notes. Winning!
Thank you, this is very informative. I am learning light burn from watching videos, I will get my laser in the fall. You are good at teaching! Thanks again!
Your videos are superb!! I learn more from you than any other channel. Your presentations are easily followed and understood. Thanks again for all you do for the laser community. I am no longer worried or scared to try a full wrap now.
There is a new node edit command, "M" for middle. Hovering over a segment and pressing M inserts a node mid-way between the segment nodes. Much quicker than using the "bullseye" to find the middle and using I to insert a node.
Yes I too learn more from you than any other channel. Thankyou. I am following along to try this. I noticed at 15:06 you grouped the image before changing to wireframed filled. right after that at 15:43 you checked that your image was ungrouped and it was. Did you again ungroup it off camera? I suppose you would have had to pull it apart again?
Again well done! I wish you were my neighbor. I would love to come over and have a beer with you and talk lasers. Take care. PS: I would bring the beer of course.
Liked even before I watched! I have been stalking your channel since I saw a post that you were working on this video. It sure did not disappoint! What does disappoint is that I don't have a PiBurn. Also, I do not have a laser that can do tumblers! I have one on order, so I can begin creating some designs for when it arrives! Now to order a PiBurn - 3 or 4 is the question. It's 4, right?
sorry for one more question. I love how clean that lens is. I went on the site to find the 1.5 inch tube and lens, and i found the tube kit but if you know off had what kit would i get for a thunder? i have a 51 but i think that part is the same across thunder lasers
is your rotary fixture able to spin over 360 degrees? i have a universal laser system and I'm having trouble how to figure out the overlap and make it seamless
Hey Robert. Another great video. I'd like to ask how you got your arrow pointer to be yellow and large? I recently had eye surgery and having a larger arrow pointer in Lightburn would help significantly. I have been able to adjust it in Windows, but that's a global change and affects every program. Is there a setting in Lightburn? Thanks!
I modified that in windows not lightburn. you can RUclips how to,create a custom arrow and it’s all a windows 11 modification. it will be large like that for All programs
Hi there! Do you know how they do a full wrap on a Stanley tumbler that has a tapered bottom? I have a Mira 7 and the piburn and would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks 😊
I know the 30 oz is easier to do than the 40. some people angle the tumbler so the top and bottom have the same focus then the middle will be closer. I’m not familiar with Mira lasers so I don’t know if you can change the lenses some people use the 1.5” or 4” lenses to do this because these lenses provide more focus distance. good luck on the quest
Thank you for your great videos. I do have a question about laser engraving tumblers though. A few days after I engrave a tumbler the stainless steel tends to tarnish somewhat. Is that because I am using incorrect power and speed on my laser or simply before I purchase cheap bottles? ..thanks JB
more than likely they are not stainless steel, cheap tumbler that aren’t made to be engraved will do that. stay with a better quality brand made for engraving. Jds industries is my goto company for tumblers.
if you stager your seem like I did her you will have some part s of your design out of the boundary as long as you have other parts inside the boundary. it all has to stitch together. thanks for watching!
@@computercreationz do you get replacement mirrors from them as well? I was thinking I should have extra's on hand just in case...I have a nova 51 that I haven't set up yet (waiting on electrical to be completed) and trying to order everything so I'm ready to go. If you do get extra mirrors what size would I need or is 25mm the only size they come in?
Hi, how long did it take to engrave and what was your line interval. I've been doing .05 and wondering if I should be doing .08. I'm also using a 2" lens. I did a 24oz rtic and it took about 1.5 hrs @ 180speed and 14pwr. Came out great though. Lol.
Hi it took about 25 minutes at 400mm/s at 35%power on my Thunder nova 35 100 watt co2 laser, I engrave all of my tumblers at .08 or 317.5 Lpi. 1.5” lens
We are just about at our wit's end with the full wrap. Would anyone seeing this happen to have a solution, or possible reason as to why we would do a full wrap test on painter's tape and have our full wrap match up perfectly, but when we remove the tape and perform the full engrave on the bottle, the pattern is 3/8" short? We are using a rotoboss jr.
3/8” short is a ton. are your sure you don’t have the tumbler pinched between the rotary. I leave 1/8” between the bottom of the rotary and the tumbler.
@@computercreationz thanks for the reply. I wish i could say that we have it pinched. We have tried with or without a heel wheel, with and without a clamp, and even just letting it free roll on the rotary with no luck.
@@computercreationz we are very close to just investing in a chuck. We can't seem to get a consistent engrave on the rollers when trying to do a full wrap.
normally yes if the neck is a different size and on the drive wheels of the rotary you will need to calculate your steps. you will notice in this video I have a donut on the neck that matches the diameter of the bottle so I don’t have to change steps. great question and thanks for watching

Learning about the notes feature alone was well worth the watch! Great video!
I got allot more efficient
when I figured out nodes
Thanks Robert!! You are awesome - next request is full wrap on 20 oz!! LOL - Maureen

there a great rotary! I really enjoy mine.

I like that idea!
How did you calculate the steps per rotation?
there is a video on this channel that will show you exactly how to do it. thanks for watching
Robert, Have you done a full wrap on a tapered tumbler? If so could you do a video on how you accomplished it?
it roughly the same process just a bit more trail and error due to the taper.
Would the roller diameter be the same if you are using a PiBurn V3? If not would I need to look at the manual for the sizing?
I’m not sure what drive wheels was used for the pi v3 just measure with a digital caliper. this will ensure accuracy in your engraves

What adjustments if any do I need to make if my mug is graduated?
I do t the pattern is still rectangular even with a 40 oz Stanley dupe that tapered
where can i get the blue attachment you have on the tumbler ? great work
I purchased these off of Etsy.
@@computercreationz Do you happen to have a link or at least keywords to search for?

Hello, Do I enter the diameter of the neck of the tumbler or the body of the tumbler? Thanks
The diameter of the body of the tumbler
is your rotary fixture able to spin over 360 degrees? i have a universal laser system and I'm having trouble how to figure out the overlap and make it seamless
yes it will keep spinning around depending on how my steps per rotation is set. it’s connected to a 100 watt co2 laser

Can I use that spacer ring on a Rotoboss?
yes I have a Rotoboss as well and have used it allot that way
Would you recommend the Pi burn or the Rotoboss after having both? For a Nova 35/80
I use both allot but gravitate towards the piBurn
how are you getting the crosshairs showing and moving with your pointer? great video btw, as usual

How do you account for the slight difference in circumference (taper of the bottles)?
I haven’t done tapered full wraps as yet.
How do you adjust for walking?
Make sure the bottom of your tumbler is slightly higher than the top once I started doing that the walking disappeared.
What is the focal length you use on the 1.5 lens. I have a Thunder 35 and on the 2" its 6mm.
Normal focus on the 1.5” lens is 10.5 mm I use 12 for my tumbler engraving. 7 mm on the 2” lens for tumblers
Thanks really enjoy your videos

Which 1.5 lens do you use?
there are several different ones on the link you added.
21mm tube for the Thunder lasers
