really hesitent to turn off auto save given this game is the only switch game ive ever played that crashes to the switch menu (somewhat regularly at that) but the other tips you gave line up with what ive experienced so ill try and remember to reset every couple hours, ty!

Hell no, I shouldn't need a workaround. GameFreak needs to drop a patch.
Hopefully they'll patch some of the bigger issues soon! These workarounds should make things a little bit smoother (hopefully!)
Checking this vid out 9months later due to the lag still sucking. As far as I'm aware the memory leak ain't an issue now but the lag still sucks

I appreciate this insight on the game's performance! I'm probably going to play the game in handheld mode more often. And reseting when it chugs 👍
Totally worth trying handheld more, seems to do the trick! Love lying back on the couch and exploring that big ol' Paldea!

I heard crashes happen because switches are left on sleep mode

A whole year and the game still performs like hot garbage on dock mode
