@KingOfTheShrews I'd agree I'm not sure whether it's the jokes that are bad or the way she delivers them, possibly both but I'm not a big fan. * Dont troll this comment with things like" Don't watch then ! " because I'd never seen her before. *
@minigunny I like Andi Osho. I'm still learning the British comedians. Been watching Shappi Khorsandi, Gina Yashere and Ava Vidal. Love Ava's material on her teenaged daughter. Check out "53 Of Our Favorite Female Comedians" on HuffingtonPost. It's US women, but a great list. Then see the 485 comments about who they left off, etc., and only 3-4 "women aren't funny" comments. I definitely hate "USA is #1" b.s., but in this specific case the UK is weirdly (and depressingly) behind the times.
It's fine that people don't like her material, since it's her job to make people laugh, and if she doesn't, then criticize away. But comments about women not being funny or being unable to do comedy are ridiculous. American Kathy Griffin gets comments in interviews about how she's surprisingly funny for a woman and replies: "Do you tell black people 'Oh, I thought you'd be lazy and shiftless, but actually you're a hard worker'?" It's bizarre that this form of sexism is still so prevalent.
Just to point out, sexism works both ways. If this were a guy talking about smacking his spouse on the head, people would make the link to domestic abuse faster than they would for this clip. Why yes, I do like to poke sticks into hornets' nests.
@project25012 SO VERY TRUE! they should quite simply gratefully accept a man's 2x4 lump of fire-hardened wood to the head & be dragged off to some dank cave to tend our fires & rear our litters.
@leilaali789 yes u are very right...like women arent sexist... theres nothing wrong with saying what you see its a fucking observation.. we live in a world today that when someone says women are smarter than men he gets applauded.."yeeeeaah that man is right!" but watch what happens when someone says something negative about women...even men turn against him, its riduculous.. just because your feelings may get hurt or something doesnt mean that we should pretend..shes not as funny, deal with it
@DogObedienceHelper It's not actually a sexist comment though is it, he is merely stating that he doesn't find most female comedians funny and that's his opinion and also mine. They should just stick to what they do best... making sandwiches! (now, THAT IS a sexist comment!)
@MissPoshWitch Sorry, she probably isn't a troll, just a rather ignorant ten year old who doesn't understand the concept of a JOKE. And calling her a troll isn't calling her a name, if you don't know what one is, perhaps you should use the internet a bit more.
@LemonMan91 Jo Brand, Joan Rivers, Gina Yashere, Jo Caulfield (see above), Andi Osho The majority of comedians are men, look around and you find some funny women Joan Rivers is the female Frankie Boyle, fuckin' brilliant
very funny ,this woman is great NOT she should not do comedy ever ,if she is going to say that about Nicola she should take a look at herself first ,Nicola is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL, that was the worst joke i have ever heard, and she doesn't deserve to be on Michael McIntyre comedy roadshow, as he is the best comedian EVER !
Wow. British women aren't given a chance to prove themselves in stand-up, and the few that do are expected to fail. That's what women have fought in politics, medicine, law and every other sector, and yes, it's sexism. We still have these problems in the US too, but it's the British RUclips videos that are full of comments like "women aren't funny." US women comedians' videos don't have much of that chatter. Thanks for the reminder about what the 70s and 80s were like.
@Tracymmo it's not really sexism..its true.. women are not as funny as men.. i think christofer hitchns took much flac for saying smth like that for women..youtube him
shes so fit.
Great one, I'd also recommend Sarah Millican. She regularly shows up on Mock the Week and 8 out of 10 Cats.
She's only been on MTW for two episodes
she's so cynical, I love it XD
better hope her partner's not watching though ;)
@MissPoshWitch Forgive me for going on a bit, but she didn't even MENTION a singer in this video.
Thank you for that list of female comedians, I'd add Maria Bamford to that too. More kooky than the others.
she came in to the starbucks where i work today :P
Wow... she soundsexactly the same as my English teacher!! (Im from Holland :P)
Will check her out. I would add Kathleen Madigan to the list too.

@project25012 Just because you're angry doesn't give you the right to be a massive hypocrite and generalise about all men.
Is that a highlight? The rest must be even more dire.
So you're a fan of Jo's? Good for you
Just to point out, sexism works both ways. If this were a guy talking about smacking his spouse on the head, people would make the link to domestic abuse faster than they would for this clip.
Why yes, I do like to poke sticks into hornets' nests.
This clip wasn't funny, but I saw her live in Covent Garden a year or so back and she was very funny.
I'm still rofling
She is not an ignorant ten year old, she is someone who is passionate about her music, and the singers who produce it, also it was a crap joke.
The only women that have ever made me laugh are Victoria Wood and Kiri Pritchard McLean.
Hububbfan I imagine there are quite a few women you've made laugh - whether you know it or not.
Andrew Roberts very droll
very cynical but i love it!
Caulfield's "I am a cow" humour gets old fast
She’s just not funny
She looks like Ronnie off Eastenders
@project25012 SO VERY TRUE! they should quite simply gratefully accept a man's 2x4 lump of fire-hardened wood to the head & be dragged off to some dank cave to tend our fires & rear our litters.

aside from the crap jokes..her voice just really annoyed me throughout all of that!
@LemonMan91 Jo Brand, Joan Rivers, Gina Yashere, Jo Caulfield (see above), Andi Osho

Joan Rivers is the female Frankie Boyle, fuckin' brilliant
Saying women aren't funny makes as much sense as saying people with blue eyes aren't funny.
Hitler wasn't funny and he had blue eyes...
Where is the jokes?
very funny ,this woman is great NOT she should not do comedy ever ,if she is going to say that about Nicola she should take a look at herself first ,Nicola is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL, that was the worst joke i have ever heard, and she doesn't deserve to be on Michael McIntyre comedy roadshow, as he is the best comedian EVER !
vaguely amusing apart from the promotion of domestic violence
She did. Listen a bit harder. Maybe use your ears for that, they're these things on either side of your your head.
Editing, my dear. A real shame.

but she times it wrong
and she emphsises the wrong points.. :/
@project25012 Can I just say that men are also obsessed with weight, age and body. We are all insecure. Gender doesn't come into it
she's just not funny. all she does is make herself out to be 'above' everyone else. and complains...
@Tracymmo dude ....shes not funny!!!

Women just dont make good comedians =\ sorry
