    Just discovered your videos. Subbed. Fixed gear rider for many years... love watching the riding because I can feel all the moves...I am moving around in my chair pulling back on the pedals to take off a little speed when it gets narrow...shifting weight left and right. I get a good workout because of the great pov of the camera. I just built up a Wabi Special and used Zipp ergo handlebars, stem, and seatpost. The bars look very similar to your Ritchey's with that slight swept-back shape of the tops. I went with 40cm width. I am trying 28mm Gatorskins and they seem good combined with the steel frame. It's always nice to discover some other fixed gear riders as the simple beauty of the bikes is not often understood. Enjoy the riding before te snow settles in.

      I wish I had started sooner! Fixed gear is such a great therapeutic tool, and I appreciate the community it brings. I was looking at the Zipp Ergo Handlebars but couldn't afford them, so I settled on the Ritchey handlebar. Your setup sounds beautiful!
      I just switched to 28s! I had 23s before; wow, what a huge difference! Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate it!! 😭 I hope it doesn't snow anytime soon!

    These bars are much narrower than your last set. Easier to get between traffic? They look sexy. Nice wrap too. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

      Much narrow! A size down 38cm! The bike shop recommended it and I am happy I went with it! Thank you! Happy Holidays! ✨⚙️

      @FixedGearCycling I've got some 38's I'm going to put on a bike. But they're deep drop so--maybe.

    Nice, loving the bars. I just accidentally purchased a new Dolan frame, so I may go back to some drops, but I want hoods for an extra hand position. I have Peppers on two bikes now... I'm going to need to sell a bike this Spring to make some room.
    Beautiful ride, thanks for sharing! May go for a ride this evening, if it dries enough. I don't want to clean the bike if I do not have too.
    Have a great day!

      @FixedGearCycling  18 дней назад +1

      Haha, that made me laugh! " Accidentally purchased." I accidentally just purchased some wheels. I wish I had two bikes, but just like you, I definitely don't have the space! Dolan frames are so pretty! I sold my peppers! I feel so set with one wide and one drop. Drops kind of work as short handlebars for me.
      Thank you! I wanted to cycle through Thanksgiving on the empty streets, but the rain really ruined those plans, so I get it!

      @FixedGearCycling haha, yeah, I think I'll keep two bikes, one aluminum and one steel. I have a big block frame here but mostly have been on my old Soma Rush lately. I do like the look of my bubblegum pink Fuji though. No room though haha

    I've been watching a ton of different POV riders all over the world, and just found your channel. I subbed to see more, and I'll probably check out your previous ones too. I live in a place too hilly/mountainous for fixed gear, so I ride an 80s Miyata that I converted to 1x9 with Sur-Ron flat bars.

    • @FixedGearCycling
      @FixedGearCycling  15 дней назад

      I wouldn't use a fixed-gear bike if I lived in a hilly mountainous place, either! The 80s Miyata are slick and nice! Thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate it!

    Are you searching for a nice feeling handlebar or just experimenting with different types to see which one will make your bike handle better and help you with braking/skidding? These drop bars appear to be good for lane splitting in particular. South Williamsburg looks like a nice neighborhood. Swerving around the back of the bus, that was a good maneuver. Close call with the lady there. Sunny day in NYC. Thank you for the ride! Happy Thanksgiving!

    • @FixedGearCycling

      I have been experimenting with what feels more comfortable, and I think I am set with one wide and one drop bar. Just recently sold all my other black handlebars. Needed to replace them over dedicating to silver handlebars. Thank you so much! Wishing you happy holidays too! 😊✨⚙️

    That's what's up, you ride triple triangle too. I have a 2014 GT with TT. Picked it specifically for that. Wanna go riding sometime? I'm in Queens and often ride the 3 boroughs.

      SRAM Supercork Bicycle Bar Tape ✨

      @ I love educating myself on things I don’t know. So I ChatGPT it with what I have. This was the result.
      Comparing SRAM SuperCork and Lizard Skins DSP 3.2mm depends on your preferences and needs. Here’s a breakdown:
      SRAM SuperCork:
      • Material: Made from cork-like material, known for its classic feel and vibration damping.
      • Grip: Offers decent grip but can be less sticky compared to synthetic materials.
      • Comfort: Softer than standard bar tape, but thinner than Lizard Skins 3.2mm.
      • Durability: Good for casual or light riders but may wear faster under heavy use.
      • Price: Very affordable.
      Lizard Skins DSP 3.2mm:
      • Material: High-tech DuraSoft Polymer (DSP), known for exceptional grip and cushion.
      • Grip: Outstanding, even in wet or sweaty conditions.
      • Comfort: Extra thick (3.2mm) for superior shock absorption, ideal for long rides or rough terrain.
      • Durability: More durable and long-lasting but can show wear over time.
      • Price: Premium, more expensive.
      Recommendation:
      • Choose SRAM SuperCork if you’re on a budget, prefer a classic feel, or don’t need maximum cushioning.
      • Choose Lizard Skins DSP 3.2mm if you prioritize grip, comfort, and vibration damping, especially for endurance rides or rough surfaces.
      If comfort is your top priority, Lizard Skins DSP 3.2mm is likely the better choice. If affordability and simplicity matter more, go for SRAM SuperCork.
