Thank you! I will utilize this theory in my dissertation to study the faculties rapid transition to online learning during the onset of the 2020 pandemic!
It is pretty interesting to know that each theory has its own supporting studies and ways of applying its findings in learning and teaching. Modelling is one of those techniques that I resort to a lot to get the students to know what I am talking about
thank you so much for the video. It would be great if you could cover more topics about biological and cognitive approaches as well. it's just simply amazing, much more efficient than in class
"The Upside of Stress" by Kelly McGonigal does provide evidence that supports the value of self-efficacy in a quantifiable manner. McGonigal's book explores how changing one's mindset about stress can transform stress from a negative experience into a positive one. A significant part of this transformation involves self-efficacy-the belief in one's ability to manage and overcome stress.
Could you please do a video about BLOA next? This is because your videos are extremely useful and the exam is so close I am not that confident anymore. Really appreciate the work! It's unfortunate it took me this long to find your channel :/
@@ThemanticEducation Sure thing, I understand what you mean! Nonetheless, I greatly appreciate the content! Could you please tell me though how many studies per unit should I memorise? Because I'm currently revising for the exams and I was wondering do I need one or two studies per unit. What I mean that for example from BLOA I know the Maguire et al 2000 study for both localization of function and neuroplasticity. And my question is do you think this is enough to be covered|? or should I have 2 studies for neuroplasticity, 2 for localization of function etc? Again thank you so much for the massive help! Recommended your youtube channel to my entire psych class!!
Hi there, I am a lecturer at the University of South Africa and came across your clip on social cognitive learning theory - am I permitted to provide my students with a link to this video? Thank you
Thank you for this video, it makes the whole concept a lot clearer!! For an SAQ, you'd just focus on either observational learning, triadic reciprocal determinism OR self-efficacy right? So, although you can briefly describe all 3 key concepts in the answer's introduction, you narrow it down to one, and use a supporting study for it as the focus of the SAQ response?
What is a weakness or criticism of the Social Cognitive Theory? A. Easy to change a person's self-efficacy B. individual focus C. Too much focus on behavioral capability Is option A correct ?
grt lecture.i really admired but could u please mention the predictor and criterions of this theory more so we get more toward the practical applications of it by implying it.
Thank you so much for the videos, been very helpful. Im studying Public health and about to write an exam on sica behavioral science - health behavior and promotion. Kindly help me understand how I use the SCT fused together with the Social ecological theory in explaining behaviour and in research; and TBP together with Social ecological theory, im struggling to apply any example on these theoris fused together yet I do understand it individually. Thank you. Also how do I get your book where you explain these theories, please send me the ISBN.
but in the evaluation of the bobo doll exp. it´s mentioned that kids are not normally exposed to the same situation in real life as they just saw on the TV so their behaviour in the experiment does not necesarily reflect a scenario in reality. A conclution is made that boys more aggressive response in the exp. reflects their overall behaviour IRL. since it´s speculated that it could depend on a genetical reason. However, what if boys are just more spontanious than girls and not more agressive? Maybe the girls aggressive response will manifest later in life? Is there more research done on gender and agression out there?
These are some great questions. Here's one example of a study on gender differences in aggression: www.researchgate.net/publication/293103207_Gender_differences_in_manifestations_of_auto-aggression_in_adolescents
All viewers need to do is slow the speed settings down. You were quite funny at 0.5 speed but I put you there for some of it so I could better digest this new (to me) information. At 0.75 speed .. I would think most people would cope. And of course, viewers can always stop and replay etc. By the way, the DEAL tip is great! Thanks so much!
You freaked me out when you said you're teaching your 3 year old to tie their laces because I have a 3 year old and I thought "am I leaving her behind"? She can just about use velcro
Did I say that? That was a fictional example - I think my son was only 1 or 2 when I made this video. I clearly didn't know development stages, as he can barely put his socks on by himself at the moment. My bad, Garry. Didn't mean to scare you. Lesson #1: Trust only my IB Psych' tips, not my parenting tips! :)
@@ThemanticEducation It made me laugh. Thank you for the upload. I'm doing a course on addiction psychology and I have to understand different theories so your video really helped.

Thanks.
writing my master thesis paper on SCT, thanks for the video, was a nice little reminder :)

A really most helpful video to understand the SCT. Thank you
very helpful, I have watched a view videos on SCT and this one helped the most.
Thank you for sharing this video. It helped me understand the material much better than the videos I was given.
You are a brilliant lecturer. Wow! So inspirational!
thank you so much for the video. It would be great if you could cover more topics about biological and cognitive approaches as well. it's just simply amazing, much more efficient than in class
Great video! It helped me a lot to understand Bandura's SCT!
Fabulous, Travis!
This was super helpful! Thank you 🙏
Very clear and informative. Excellent overview.

oh and thank you very, very much for making education easier :)
this was so well explained thankyou
Travis is the GOAT
Great Video, easy to understand and make sense of SCT.

I'll try Bernard, but one video about a whole approach like the biological approach to behaviour might be a LOONG video.

@@bernardscottcrohnswarrior3868 I recommend 1 study for an SAQ and 2-3 for an essay. You can choose one approach only to prep for essays.

why movie agressive is much higher, do they have any explanation to it ?
Thannkuuu for the video. It's really helpful.

yes go for it,
ARRM part of SLT or SCT or both? Same with triadic?

That would be a good plan! Even TRD and Ob Learning could be described in the body, and then one sutdy to support.
Very detailed explanation

Thank you so much for this. How many studies does the student need to know in support of SCT? Is one study sufficient?
SAQs = One, Essays, 2 or 3. Here are some essay writing tips: ruclips.net/video/G5LYmKdOvBY/видео.html
