    Nice video Martin. Good to see you scratch building by recycling the shampoo bottles. Proves that model railways can be environmentally friendly! This is certainly something that should be encouraged as not everyone can afford expensive kits or 3D printers. Not that I am against either of those!

    It looks amazing but a small point. Diesel tanks will not have a filling pipe via the top of the tank.
    They will be filled and discharged via a connection near the bottom to prevent static discharges/build-up and ease of operation. In general its easier to discharge and fill from the bottom as je don’t need any suction head.

    Super video, hobby is now getting better with the technology, but allows you to use your own modelling skills to keep your layout look at the best. Thanks for sharing your skills and ideas. Wonderful 🎉

    Martin, that is a great looking scenic touch to your layout. It will enhance the operational aspect by giving your rolling stock something to do than chasing their tails.

    Small details like this add so much more interest to a layout. It was great to see you using budget materials. Not everyone can afford to buy expensive structures these days.

    Another great tutorial on structure building, Martin! Lots of good techniques were illustrated. New for me was the using of shampoo bottles for storage tanks. I will now look at similar plastic bottles more carefully before throwing them in the recycle bin. 🙂 Cheers from Wisconsin!

    I enjoy and learn much from your videos, e.g. who would have thought nice looking water could be made from toilet paper? As it happens, I need a diesel fueling and sanding facility BUT in large scale 1:29, modern USA practice. Any suggestions as to how to go about it?

    The horizontal fuel barrel you made towards the end looks an exact copy of the Faller 120157 kit that I got for Christmas this year…. Tank supports, pipe layout - everything in fact!

    • @marklinofsweden
      @marklinofsweden  2 года назад +2

      Hi! Most of the manufacturers has similar sets including tanks on concrete sockets. This is probably the most common setup for diesel storage found in Germany during the 60s to 80s. The 120157 is a great kit. I wish you much fun building it! Regards / Martin

    Bra idé att använda gamla shampoo flaskor! :) Har tex. själv byggt ett litet vattentorn och använde mig bland annat av en gammal plastrulle för lödtenn, ett limstift, och en tjock tushpenna :)
