Good Afternoon! I own the Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 and absolutely love them. Had the Boston 12’s before but the laces & upper drove me mad. Speed 4’s are great at everything I’ve thrown at them in HM training. Thanks for the recommendation Chris!
Good morning. Excellent comparison. For me: 1- Saucony endorphin speed 4. 2- Brooks hyperion Max 2. 3- Asics magic speed 4. But, i'm not a fast runner, I prefer the NB fuelcell Rebel v4. Like to Fordy. A nice weekend for everyone.
@@Manuel-901 i have some speeds and mine started to fall apart at 12 miles. By 120 they are almost cooked. Might have been a bad.pair but i usually make 250ish in them
Got my Hyperion Max last week. 25km in them so far and I'm really liking them, prefer them over the Endorphin Speed 4 which fit a bit narrow on my foot....on holiday and brought the Hyperion Max along, found a local race and ill give them a smash in them.
Own the max 2 and deviate nitro 3, i returned the neo vista because it was too soft and same with the speed 4. I actually appreciate the higher stack height in the deviate 3 because the 2 i felt needed more in the forefoot beyond 10 miles. But the max 2 has been a revelation
@@karls8989 what? not even 60kg? Thanks for the info, that this Neo Vista boat is also for a 60kg person too soft. So, with my 90kg i definately won't even try it :)
I got the pro 4s after owning the pro 3s. I love the 4s, they are a very smooth shoe to run. Less bouncey than the 3s but if your legs are tired at the end it's so much easier to turn over. Saved me after blowing up in the first half of a 10k, I was able to actually run an even split 2nd half.
@@PatrickStar_24 I haven't used the pro yet and only used the speed 4s with one run so looking forward to getting out there. I was wearing glycerin 21 they were comfy but wasn't as responsive when I needed them to be I got 52.06 and was happy however I'm looking forward to seeing if the soucony make a difference 🤞🏽
I'm really digging the Mizuno Neo Vista at the moment. It's just fun...a little mushy yeah but it does seem to make the miles go by quicker and easier for me.
I love the Hyperion max 2 - just added to my rotation. I use speed four for my mop up shoe and Hyp max2 for long runs. Didn’t get on at all with the deviate 2 so haven’t tried the 3
My top 4 that I own … supershoes categorie is 1- hyperion max 2 2- adidas adizero boston 12 3- saucony endorphin speed 4 4- hoka mach x …. Hyperion Max 2 just because you fill more protected under the forefoot for some reasons and the roll with the geometry it just fit my running stride I guess … i ain’t an amazing runner but i love running 😅
Having run in both the speed 4 and hyperion max 2, I'd put them neck and neck. Both awesome and highly recommended. I too am a middle-aged middle pack marathon runner.
I've got the Speed 4s and absolutely love them. I thought my Boston 12s were good but the Speeds are better! Would you take them into a Marathon though or should I get some Pro 4s?
Hyperion max 2 is definitely great for people who are heavy or lighter runners who are fast. The more force you put into the ground the more responsive it is. I use it at 1500m-5k pace during workouts. Tried the speed 4 and it just felt mushy and unpleasant when I picked up the pace.
Been a Saucony fan for many years, progressing through versions 1 to 3 with the Speed and versions 2 & 3 of the Pro (Pro 3 being my current race shoe) but I have just ordered a pair of the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 from Start Fitness as my initial impression of the Saucony Speed 4 has been less than favourable - I still believe version 2 of the Speed is a better shoe than version 3!
Wouldn’t mind trying the Saucony speed 4, have the endrophin pro 3 and now the 4, so will use the 3 a bit more before getting the Speed 4 as a speed trainer
You never mention 1.) bodyweight (besides dadbod) and 2.) strike (heel, mid, fore - but ok, we can see that in most of your videos) which makes a huge impact on how a shoe runs, how soft it feels, how much you sink in and therefore for what bodyweight which shoe is good for and for what disctance. The majority of shoetubers are like elite runners compared to us with like 70kg or less and for them many shoes are hard and boring, but for people with 90kg+ or even 100kg+ it may be just right. Shoes which are peppy and bouncy, might bottom out for heavier runners way sooner (each run and total km in general) and/or don't bounce back at advertised. Nice overview video! Is a Superblast not also a Supertrainer? Therefore: Superblast 2 > everything else besides specialized race day shoes for race day?
Hey Fordy , is the snug fit and running feel of the Deviate Nitro 3 is about the same found in the Velocity Nitro 3 ? I'm loving the Velocity 3 , but disliked the V2, and I wonder if the new Deviate is like Velocity 3 with a plate. Thanks.
For my next training block, I'm just converting my racing shoes into my speed training shoes and buying new racers. I'll still train non plated for majority of my runs but I don't see the point of having super trainers.
Hi Fordy, would the Deviate Nitro 3 work as an all-rounder as a lot of reviews seem to be quite negative. I'm thinking of returning the ones I have bought. Would a Velocity Nitro 3 work better or is there something else you would recommend at under £120? Thanks :)
I used V2 as an every day shoe and loved it. Fast, stable and soft enough for longer runs, I've even raced in it. If I could only own it would be that. For me, V3 is very similar, slightly different but no better or worse.
@@FordyRuns That’s a shame as Mach x2 and Rocket x2 are right up there with the best shoes on the market … as long as they suit your feet (width) and running ability 👍
I use my Rebel v4 for my fast, shorter runs of up to 12-16km. Then I have the Speed 4 for my faster long runs, my DN2 for easy to moderate up to half marathon distance and Novablast 4 for a cruiser/recovery that can do any distance. Race day are the Endorphin Elites and Vaporfly 3.
I am starting to hate the word super trainers. Last year when the SuperBlast came out everyone called a "NON" plated shoe with super foams a super trainer. Now it has became a different definition depending on who it is lol.
