Solid radar, and the Iranian air force trainer squadron of meat has made this thing a joy to fly the past few.
Man watching you play top tier jets is such a relaxing thing. Especially when my favorite top tier the MiG-29SMT is in question. You understand the jet just as well as I do. In that, you need to maintain a high speed with it, and getting too slow or as low as 200 mph (dunno what that is for Kmh) is where it becomes clumsy and very ineffective at dealing with anything regarding turning. This is very apparent with it in Air Sim as you run a high risk of literally falling out of the sky. Love watching your content.

@@Bad_Karma777 Yes but there is catch 22 here, Your plane control and knowledge is excellent, however you are allowing your team mates to go about several km in front of you, there by the aim 120s not locking on to you first. This means that you dont have to defend and crack as much, giving you the opportunity to lock on to targets without being engaged.
By being smart and allowing others to be the ones being engaged first and you coming in from the rear does not make this plane great. It is way worse than the f-15 and f-16.
In my opnion, the best russian plane, more reliable than the Su-27SM, the radar covers almost 90 degrees to both sides, being able to notch while maintaining lock
yup i rather pick this at 13.3 than the extra few missiles
@@VOME127 extra few missiles, slightly better FM and the radar that doesn’t work … at all … in any modes, only IRST saves the Su from being completely useless
I never found irst useful on the ml so i deleted the keybind.. from how many km can you lock with irst in su27sm? And then you switch to radar while locked? :D@user-jy6cn3jy8g
@@dominikhrncirik6924 from up to 30km in any mode, including ACM and HMD, it also has a laser rangefinder so it shows locked targets the same way as radars do, not like 23’s IRST does (on the MiG-23 it only shows targets’s position relative to the MiG’s nose and that’s it). Also it has very wide angles - from -70 to 70 deg on horizontal axis and from -22 to 55(or more, can’t remember) deg on vertical axis

It's not that the plane "sucks", it's just that there's nothing it can do that the F-16C can't do better... Well, aside from the ability to hold a lock while notching, which really sounds more useful than it actually is (getting a missile to lose lock typically requires enough wobbling around that you lose the lock anyway). Otherwise the Viper has better missiles, longer range on the radar's ACM, and no energy bleed issues.
Literally 13.0/13.3 is now hella Fun bcz of the F14 spam, so with that plane, it would'nt be different, also Very great with that type of pilot, keep cooking man!
I'm convinced Bad Karma can wipe top tier lobbies with a bi-plane at this point

the ability to manual loft R-27ER at long ranges is seriously underrated and this radar + gimbal combo is so good to use it, it updates you on the position of the missile relative to the target(s) so you can decide when it's best time to re-lock
those F-15 in first clip were paid actors

There are many things to consider: we were at the start of the match, so the Eagles were likely almost fully loaded with payloads and probably had a lot of fuel as well. I play in that area of the map specifically to burn through ammo and fuel quickly. Notice how, even with an SMT, my plane seemed to outperform theirs significantly. Not every player can handle these situations. The only thing that seemed suspicious was how they missed so many cannon shots on me :v

I recommend locking players with HMS IRST, then switch back to normal PD. That way, you "override" the 10km max distance in the HMS PD mode. IR locks them up to like 25km. But the regular PD radar still sucks tho...
The reason I didn’t use it in this video is that I had this video ready for a while. I’ve been using the IRST a lot in my new video with the Flanker in a BVR scenario. This gave the Su-27 a big performance boost, and of course, the R-77s too, btw it’s the video coming out tomorrow :)
honestly the r-77s are good people that says its bad expect the missle to be played like the aim 120 but you need to understand that the r77 is for medium to low rang missle not like the aim 120 so you just need to change your playstyle and you will enjoy it

Everytime i see a Mig 29 it looks so dam good.
Only problem this aircraft has is it's horrible energy retention in Air RB. Radar and RWR is actually good, R-77s are decent and 6 missiles are good enough but burning that much energy in a single turn greatly hurts when you're up against multiple enemies and fighting BVR.

Ima be honest, the Israeli tree has more option than Russia for air now, with both f16d and baz improved being great compared to, not that good su27sm and great MiG 29smt

Basically, the MiG-29A (9-13) is a real powerhouse in the game. Even with the R-60Ms (missiles that people usually don’t think much of), they’re pretty effective because of the plane’s high speed and maneuverability, plus the HMD. It also comes with 2 R-27ERs, which can easily get you two kills if you use them right, and it’s not that hard to do. In contrast, the MiG-29SMT at its current BR, with its different airframe, works more as a missile launcher. Its gameplay is way less aggressive compared to the MiG-29A

What’s the best loadout cause I can’t decide cause I want to use all 4 r77 but they’re slow as hell and when I do lock and fire another person kill them before I do and I want to use the r27er but I have to maintain lock while people fire fox 3’s at me. So I don’t know what to do?

Think of it as a missile platform and put yourself in situations where you don't have to rely too much on its performance to survive
