@@makasete30 Ngl I’d be okay with Kratos dying because we’ve had like what, 8 games with Kratos? I love the character and his growth in these new games but killing him by sacrificing himself to save his sons life is probably the best way to go about it since Kratos’ whole quest was driven largely by how he was deceived into killing off his wife and child, brother, and mother. The way I see a sequel/spin off series with Atreus is that it’s framed like Clint Eastwood’s Man With No Name character from the Dollars Trilogy and he just stumbled upon a conflict while on his quest to learn more about his heritage. In the first game, he helps the underdog defeat the “big bad” only to learn in the second game that he was just a lackey and he fucked with the actual Big Boss’s operation, gets in over his head and calls on his dad for help who pulls up for a meaty playable section to aid his son only to sacrifice himself so that his son can live and that springboards Atreus in a 3rd game (which I even on having a slight time jump to a early 20s Atreus) and it’s framed similar to Kratos’ quest for revenge. Chinese mythology is hard one to crack because there are just so many of them. It’s much more easier to think China as Europe instead of one country within it… like if someone says tackle European mythology, you will be like which one. Same with India/Hindu mythology because they have 33 millions of gods there.

This was the original idea, so I’m glad they’re sticking with it. Different pantheons, I remember people wishing Egypt was a thing, so it’s very possible, wherever it is, I’ll play the game.
I wonder if it'd be a prequel (meaning post Greek, pre Norse) or a sequel (or a bit of both) if they actually do go to Egypt. I wonder if we'll get to fight that Hippo creature like in the comic.

The greeks had a prophecy about Zeus being overthrown. The Norse had Ragnarok. The Egyptian mythos as far as I can tell has no such thing. So wouldn't it be interesting if Kratos tries to do his "godslaying" thing but he fails or stalemates against his Egyptian counterpart and then whatever was behind the rift Odin was looking at comes out and has to team up with? Unless they don’t change up a lot, keep a lot of systems and don’t jump into a new play style and gameplay model that 2018 did to the OG trilogy
I've been calling this for years!!! Atreus is going to become evil, or at the very least, very strong in the antihero area. God of War doesn't leave loose ends as far as storytelling goes IMO. So here's my take. POSSIBLE SPOILERS Kratos stayed behind to help rebuild after Ragnarok and was actually beginning to come into his own as being a respected and just God. The God of Hope. Atreus went to find the other Jotun that fled before the massacre. Not knowing where to turn, Angrboda took him to a land that her grandmother spoke of, "The Land of The Pharaohs". This is where her grandmother got the Cauldron as a gift, in order to save Jotun who were too badly hurt physically to remain in their original physical form. Sindri is along for the ride too as he's still actively trying to make Atreus's live a living hell to claim revenge for Brok. Eventually Sindri will make too serious a threat to Angrboda and Atreus will in a fit of rage kill Sindri. Sindri's last words..."just like your father". Angrboda will start to see this shift in Atreus and question him about it, seperating their relationship further. In Egypt, Atreus will encounter many Jotun who were able to flee Jotunheim only to be enslaved to create and build a conduit (The Great Pyramid). Ev That also makes perfect sense as some people say that the Pyramids were constructed with the help of Giants. Even the huge statues in Egypt make sense in this storyline that the Giants possibly ended up here. In a rage to free his people I believe Atreus may claim all out war on this "Land of the Pharoahs" but ultimately get defeated badly maybe by an undergod like Set or Anubis. Licking his wounds, Atreus will come back to his Father, pleading that he found his people and that Kratos needs to help him defeat them. Kratos, being a changed man, will try to make Atreus see reason and say that maybe the can talk with these Pharaohs and have some kind of negotiation without blood. Atreus will say "When did you become so weak? These are MY people. MOTHER'S PEOPLE!!." Atreus with semi-mature spartan rage will attack Kratos, this time transforming into a dragon. Ultimately his father will defeat him but not kill him. Atreus being embarrassed of a second defeat, will beat himself up about it. "I wasn't a strong enough God. I couldn't protect Mother. I couldn't protect Angrboda. I couldn't save my people." The next mission would be the journey to get the Mask in order to amplify your power. It will work, but will ultimately turn Atreus into full blown Loki. I'm still working on the rest....
Robert E. Howard and H.P Lovecraft wrote each others alot and came up with ideas. So Kratos and Cthulhu isnt that far fetched seeing as Conan fought alot of Lovecraftian horrors.
I'd love for the Egyptian gods to be looking to start the war with Kratos but not out of any other reason than to restore the cosmic balance that Kratos and Atreus have ruined. Maybe Atreus gets captured on his travels and Kratos sets out just to rescue his Son
Or it could be interesting if they have their separate adventures as well, with Kratos going against Egyptian gods in the next game and Atreus to Indian (random example) gods in the game after that. They’ve developed both characters and I think it could be fun. Then they could reunite in a third game.
@@chrissolace Could be interesting, but I think plenty of players did not enjoy the Atreus sections of Ragnarok, so it could be hard to buy into it. Atreus DLC or post credit content that acts as a stepping stone to a sequel would be good and could encourage more players to play out of curiosity instead of making them play
Egypt, really ? it's been overused. I'd really like to see Kratos fighting against aztec gods, this mythology is so hardcore, it would be epic and it's rarely been exploited
I think the next after Egyptian mythology would be Shinto mythology. It would also be cool to see some other mythology’s like Slavic, Celtic, Polynesian, or Inuit.
@E-stat Wouldn't covering Shinto possibly cause a big controversy? I don't think the millions of Shinto followers today would appreciate a Greek man slaughtering their gods in a video game for entertainment. Auras Wrath got loads of hate from Hinduism for doing the same thing.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS
Kratos stayed behind to help rebuild after Ragnarok and was actually beginning to come into his own as being a respected and just God.
Ev
That also makes perfect sense as some people say that the Pyramids were constructed with the help of Giants.
MOTHER'S PEOPLE!!."
Atreus with semi-mature spartan rage will attack Kratos, this time transforming into a dragon. Ultimately his father will defeat him but not kill him.
Atreus being embarrassed of a second defeat, will beat himself up about it. "I wasn't a strong enough God. I couldn't protect Mother. I couldn't protect Angrboda. I couldn't save my people."
The next mission would be the journey to get the Mask in order to amplify your power. It will work, but will ultimately turn Atreus into full blown Loki.
I'm still working on the rest....
As long as ATREUS f***ing stays away and leaves Kratos alone 🥲
It was either that or the Japanese and Mayan/Aztec mythology.
Yeah didn’t they already tease this in their last game?
More like War of Gods, am I right?
Kratos inexplicably has a new wife and child in the new location.
I can't wait till the medieval Middle Ages and Kratos fights Jesus.
Very good. Very nice.
Hopefully they'll also go back to a well developed combat system, no superfluous RPG systems, and spectacle instead of muh feels
Was kinda hoping for hindu mythology bc theres literally over 1k gods there or maybe even roman myths so we can see if alt version kratos exist
Problem is people will get upset since its a relgion people still follow.
When is the next state of play?
I say it’s like every year in June!
Rumor has it soon but then again those rumors are right 5% of the time.
That would be awesome and so exciting if it’s true I can’t wait! Lol and hopefully we don’t lose all the good protagonist!
@ Luke Stephen’s hey Luke you say your a big Egypt fan and you oh so have some warhammer army’s is one of them Tomb Kings?
They went there a little bit GoW: Ascension
Man I wish Sony had the balls to remaster that game. I always wanted to play it ever since I beat the GOW 3 remaster a few years ago
Definitely wouldn't call ragnarok rushed. It was a fantastic experience
As Egyptian, i can't wait
Robert E. Howard and H.P Lovecraft wrote each others alot and came up with ideas. So Kratos and Cthulhu isnt that far fetched seeing as Conan fought alot of Lovecraftian horrors.
Japanese is next so many hints to it in Ragnarok
I want to see Kratos become a wise man
I'd love for the Egyptian gods to be looking to start the war with Kratos but not out of any other reason than to restore the cosmic balance that Kratos and Atreus have ruined.
I wish African mythology would be touched sometimes but… I get why not
If this ends up happening, I doubt it will focus on kratos. His story is done. It might focus on grown up Atreus
Raising kratos is such a good docu
I hope they go back to the hack and slash route this time
It would be cool if atreus was somehow being held in Egypt so kratos has to go do his thing
Hopefully it wont have much of atraeas in it unless they make him have badass attacks and powers
@@E-stat Yeah, you're right. There're so many mythologies that are out there and never been explored... And it reminds me of something, is there anybody here that remembers a card game that was called DEUS ? it was popular for 1 or 2 years where I live in the 90s and it was abouts different mythologies
So we're doing the scraped ending for God of war 3?😅
Yea we know this would be happening. I hope they take their time because I didn’t enjoy Ragnarok that much… things just felt, rushed.
if its true then i hope its a story set between greek and norse
ragnarok didnt feel rushed at all, it was hugh game and well paced in my opinion.
Considering this is extremely old news, I don’t know why people are treating it as new news. All this was announced in 2006/2007.
Cant wait to see Kratos beat the CRAP out of Anubis
I want them to go to aztec/mayan setting.
I thought Santa Monica was making a new IP?
