Have heard him play more than one rendition of this. All are sweet. No wonder he's one of our great stars. Our greats can play anything. There's more to life than rock and blues.
Eric Patrick Clapton with no known Irish connections as far as I know except his middle name, Eric has the magic to make his guitar gives off human feelings of beauty, deep sadness, sorrow, loss, and lonesomeness yet the sheer beauty of bright skies with dark clouds drifting away.. This is ancient Irish tune was given by an Irish lady to an English man who modified it and wrote new words and made Danny Boy, a song/a tune that has been played millions times during the 1st and 2nd world wars and many other times of sadness and loss. Thanks a trillion Eric
Dennis you are fecking correct, Erck makes his guitar gives off human feelings of beauty, deep sadness, sorrow, loss and lonesomeness yet the sheer beauty of bright skies with dark clouds drifting away
Une des plus belles chansons du monde interprétée si respectueusement! Douceur et tristesse transcendés par Le Maestro. Il pourrait très bien aussi la chanter avec sa voix grave et douce, qui conviendraient parfaitement à cette œuvre! Peut être.....
Thanks you , so beautiful. Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow, Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow, It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow, Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so! But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying, If I am dead, as dead I well may be, You'll come and find the place where I am lying, And kneel and say an Ave there for me. And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me, And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be, For you will bend and tell me that you love me, And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!
Thank you so much etudes6!! Lovely version...always from Mr. Clapton one except no less. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your other uploads. With appreciation,
...the World is full of stupid, one dimensional people... no sense of beauty or soul, what a pox on society they are. Maybe you should stick with formulaic pop, metal, or whatever your chosen nirvana is... just go away.
russel+i saw cream in 1969 , you were not born yet , you got no idea what is pop, rock or ,blues , no idea what is the sound of a classical guitar , like Steve Howe from Yes, used to play and other rock guitar players from the 60 . stay where you are .
carl perkins Acoustic Layla is very impressive. Cream was good, Derek and the Dominos was good, Blind Faith etc. etc..and I was alive in 69. Clapton can Play Classical guitar, Electric..HELL, he could probably pay the clothes line if he wanted to, and make it sound good.
@@manguera9 Your assumptions are wrong! If you saw Cream in '69, we must be extremely close in age. Of course you're welcome to your narrow view of what venues a musical soul should pursue, I'm just ecstatic Mr. Clapton has chosen to apply his soulful talent in so many wonderful ways... Having had the good fortune to see him 15 times or so over the decades, I'm thrilled to hear him externalize his musical soul in whatever fashion he chooses...
Beautiful song, beautifully done by the great, great Eric Clapton ❤😊
Masterful, second to none.
I'm in awe.
