- Huge shoutout to Tommy L Garage for giving us an easy solution to stop this awful clicking noise. I have literally tried everything to fix it including taking it to car mechanics and no one can get rid of it, so finally we have a solution!

I’m having this issue too and stumbled on your video. I’m going to give this a shot but wanted to see how it’s held up over time. I know this video is over a year old so wanted to check! Thanks!
The same start happening to my M2 today and y’all are my saviors 🤣🙏🏽
I’m glad you finally got it fixed! That was a puzzling issue thank goodness for Tommy’s video
For real!
Thanks for sharing this fix!
That’s amazing how something as simple as anti seize can make a difference cool vlog man 🤙🏽
Right! Thanks man!
Last Thursday I finally got rid of the clicking noise on my 2016 M2. I traded it on a new 230i in Thundernight Metallic. No more noise.
Took me almost a year to figure this out too lol, luckily my creak is gone, but if it comes back I’m def trying this method 😂🙌🏽
Dang bro almost a year of that sound?!? That’s rough definitely try this if it returns
I am suffering this noise too on my m340i. Am wondering if this affect functionality and is it detrimental? 😢
Great solution!
Fasteners require different torque wet vs dry. The factory torque value is based on a dry bolt thread. If you're now adding a lubricant you'll need to research the variation it now introduces and vary your torque accordingly. Cheers
Thanks for the tip I’ll try out some different torque settings
What would you recommend exactly? Looking into doing this myself too. Thank you for informing us on this!
Shout out to tommy for real tho I would’ve never thought to look at that
He’s the 🐐 for this
My new series 2 has the same issie when turning all the way to either side. Is it normal for new BMW?
Wow!!! Dude, I am appreciate you found the root cause on it, thanks a lot.
Additionally, the good things is not impact the security driving. I will try to fix it next weekend :)
Right! I’m so happy it’s all gone! Definitely go try this solution

Dude, I already fixed my steeling clicks sound after I follow your solution....
I have a rattles sound wanna ask you.... bcuz I still cannot found it from which parts. I fixed all the interior and tapping relevant tape for all site includes remount glove box. But, this noise I can make sure from around the passenger front-side air bag(or near by glovebox top side), sounds like some screw was shaking when my car running on on the bumpiness roads(just a little bit shaking with my car)
Do you have any ideas of this?
Sad...
ruclips.net/video/yxKl2tZ0Pd8/видео.html
Yes mine did this with the noise on passenger side. It's either your air bag on the pillow on passenger side give it move around and try to put your passenger seat on a 50 to 60 percent ratio. Mine went after this
@@bradleyduke2185 Thanks Bradley.
Correct. The passenger seat get the noise too. I also observed the noise source like you, and I adjusted the passenger seat position around 50-60. Same as your result, the seat noise disappeared. (Handshake)
I am struggling and considering ‘Should I remove the main front dashboard to fix the passenger ABG bolts and screws or not’… 3 years… I still fight with that rattles noise all the time.
I did some research on my 2017 M2 (Eibach Pro Kit Springs). It makes the same awful grinding/clicking noise after the install. Though mine was only on the front right. I found out that the "Pinch Bolt" actually stretches and should be replaced after removal due to them stretching when torqued to factory specs. Also, they stated to put the anti-seize lubricant on the bolt when you install the new one. I ordered the bolts, going to replace both. I will let you all know if this fixes the issue.
Been looking forever how to get rid of this noise
Thanks for the video !! I have the same noise mostly when the car is moving and planted on left or right. Not so much when the car is idle. Had you the same behaviour ? Thanks !
Of course! And no I have not heard that before during idle…
@@AutomotiveTherapy Thanks !
I’ve also had this issue and thanks to Tommys L’s video sound went away completely, but it came back after a week but it’s quite faint 2nd time around, maybe I’ve used the wrong anti seize looks like I got to remove those wheels and repeat the process once again maybe change the anti seize product to something abit more superior.
All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦
Yea I would definitely try taking the wheels off and trying it again with a different product. Make sure everything is fully torqued. If it still gives issues I would try replacing the pinch bolt with a new one. Thanks for watching all the way from South Africa!
Arshad I'm having the same issue on my M4 did this fix the issue on your car ?
Mine makes a bit different noise but I’m going to give this a try
CLUTCH!!! TY FOR THIS INFO!!!
🙌
Im saving up for either a 15-16 M4 or a newer 440i, having trouble deciding though. Any ideas?
Both are great option but there is nothing like a full on M car. I went from a 435 Msport to my current m4 and the difference is crazy! It’s definitely worth getting the M4 car if you don’t mind the RWD
Thank you for sharing I thought I was the only one that had this 😢😂
Of course!!!
I wonder why the other side is still clicking. Maybe you need to torque or more ? Just don’t break the bolt. Try torquing it under load (jack it up and torque)
I will try to carefully torque the bolt some more. It definitely got rid of 99% of it! Thanks again!
As in, having the car on jack stands, and jacking up the front rotor (with a piece of wood in between) to create load?
@@TheHunterHofman yes
Hey that’s cool that it works. But I wouldn’t put antisieze on a bolt that’s under load and vibration like that, it could back out over time and bite you in the arse down the road.
I’ll take that into consideration. Thanks!
I'm getting the same noise from the passenger rear, any idea what it could be?
Oh no! Not sure what it might be if it’s in the rear…
@@AutomotiveTherapy found out it was due to the drive shaft hub nut being loose, torqued it to spec all good now thankfully
Oh wow! Glad you got the figured out 🙌
Those taillights look sooooo good
Agreed 🥵
