I bought an Audio Techica AT-LP3XBT this year because I need a fully automatic turntable. I often leave the room and forget to pick up the needle at the end of an album and it’s got Bluetooth which gave me flexibility on where I place it in my game room. I like it a lot!
You have given me great recommendations! You have saved me from the deaths of crosley cruisers and I now own an audio technica lp 60x! This man knows his stuff!!!!
You made vinyl record hobby much easier. I'm into CDs when I first stumbled on your channel some 2 years ago, and I finally bought my first turntable because of you. Thank you so much for existing here in the internet, you're a blessing!
Get the Fluance RT85 if you can. It’s a superb turntable. Got mine last year and absolutely love it. The RT81 is a great value too. Glad to see it as an honorable mention.
I sold hi-fi back between 1976 and 1983. I have four turntables and applaud your selection for those that are not into this just to impress their friends. And the RT85 fits that bill if necessary (unless their friends are serious audiophiles with fat wallets). My son and I were just talking about this stuff and not a half hour ago he pulled the trigger on an NAD C588. I'm sure he'll like it. He has the money. But I was trying to get him into the RT85 because I think it's all he'll need and it has two features I have learned to love: removable headshell and auto stop. That's a good feature for my DD turntables, but I think it's a huge plus for a belt drive. But I'm sure he'll like that one.
I really enjoyed this video and I'll be looking into these recommendations! I already have a record player but it is a cheap Walmart one so I'm hoping to upgrade to one of the ones you showed in this video! Also, here's my recommendation for song of the week: Many Shades Of Black - The Raconteurs
Hi, I’ve been watching you videos since 2020 and ended up getting an AT120 several years ago and it’s been working great, I just updated my receiver and was thinking of updating the cartridge on the AT120 to the Ortblue which I think I saw you had done as well on your AT120 and wanted to see what you thought about the upgrade, happy holidays and cheers!
Absolutely. I have the Walmart version right now and it's fantastic for the price point. It's a great starter TT to see if the vinyl thing will last for you. I'm hoping to upgrade to the LP120 soon.
@JoseGonzalez-vx6mg maybe a bit late, but yeah, TOTALLY worth it to start. I had one back in 2020. I started my record collection using that TT and loved it, and then thanks Jarrod on this channel, I upgraded to a Project Debut Carbon Evo and also love it too. I was set on the Fluance RT85, but they were back ordered and ended up getting the Project Debut Carbon Evo.
Just start at the top..... buy the RT-85, whatever you have to do. Sell your sister's iPhone when she's asleep. If you must have fully-automatic, I think Crosley makes one for about the price of a good burrito. But don't get that. Get the Fluance. You won't be disappointed.
@@broeheemed32 Fluance turntables are so good. I've had my RT-81 for about 7 years now and couldn't be more happy with my setup. If I ever decide to upgrade my turntable I'll probably get another Fluance
@@broeheemed32 worth the money then? I started collecting the last few years. I have an Audio Technica entry level LPGO-BT. Does the fluance make the records sound better too?
Glad to hear from you with another update. It sometimes seems like it takes just a year or two for the tides to swap all the models considered as flagman. For example, I guess I missed the moment when ProJect started to fix Sumico cartridges instead of Ortofon 2M series onto their Debut lineup. Really interested in them turntables mentioned last, I need a video on how to choose a preamp now XD Anyways, thanks and great to see you again, Vinyl Eyezz
I have a Sony PS-LX310BT turntable. The stylus is not replaceable. So what should I do when it wears out? Should I buy a new tonearm or a new turntable?
Thanks for this Jarret... My Cambridge Audio amp (Old but super quality) has a built in pre-amp. I want to upgrade from my very old technics turntable but need a turntable that does not have a pre-amp. So the higher end turntables you reviewed are not problem. I see that the U-Turn orbit has an optional built in pre-amp, which is also good. So my question is this... For other turntables with a built in preamp, is there any way of turning that off or bypassing the pre-amp?... Hope that makes sense...
I just ordered Toy Matinee from a guy in Sweden. It ran me about $80 including shipping. If you don't know Toy Matinee, you certainly know its founder Kevin Gilbert. At least you know his music. He was Sheryl Crowe's keyboardist for a while, and co-wrote Santa Monica Boulevard.
Thanks for the video. You are calling the RT85 the best for Christmas?? It's a good turntable at its price range, but there are certainly better TT than this above its price?
I'm still waiting to get the PLX-1000 Direct Drive Professional DJ Turntable and because my rack is a Pioneer and missing the right turntable. From the list you showed the Technica one looks similar in comparison to the Pioneer. The other turntables I would buy it maybe with another set oneday.
Thanks for the video Jarrett. Question for the q&a: Will you be looking at some Peter Gabriel albums on vinyl in the near future? Peter went solo after leaving Genesis in 1975 after The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway album
Nice to see you again, Jarrett! Thanks for the recommendations! Edit for Q&A: I recently added a Gemini SA-2400 turntable to my vinyl record setup and it works fantastic, but I have encountered a problem. I bought a ground wire and attached it as like you said, with both units unplugged. I still hear a faint buzzing sound, but it's quieter than before. What could be the issue? Thanks, love the vids!
Thank you for all this information especially the proper equipment to ply 78's. I'm even scared to look at them because they are so fragile. By the way, I inherited an extensive record collection from my grandparents.
There is certainly a market for convenience record decks at this level, but the bar has been set low. Puzzling absence of any mention of Rega decks. Maybe you have no experience of them.
Ah, well it seems that one of the most popular turntables over the last 5 years has finally been omitted from Jarrett's list - the AT-LP60X. The LP70X is now the latest iteration from Audio Technica, and I think this was the one Jarrett probably had to put in it's place at number 5. I still own the 60X, and having made a couple of upgrades to it by replacing the felt mat with an acrylic and swapping out the conical stylus for an elliptical, I still have no real temptation to replace the unit after nearly 4 years of ownership. You were always right about the 60X Jarrett, smashing little turntable.
Do you happen to know someone that is selling a working cassette deck because my sony cassette deck after 35 years decided to die two weeks ago and my only working cassette deck is my 2001 Peugeot 206 but that's a problem because i have 250 plus tapes so i will appreciate any help
Question: Can you do a "Behind The Band" video about pink floyd? Btw have you heard their debut? If you have not (listen to it in mono) I think you will like it.
If only we had a AT-LP70X or Sony PS-LX310 with a 78 RPM setting. That would be perfect for me for an automatic table with all three speeds. I have some 78 RPM records in addition to 33 1/3 and 45. Still searching for one like that. Haven't found it yet and have no turntable to enjoy the records. My parents used to have a vintage turntable, but it broke some time ago and was deemed a total loss (no spare parts to fix it) so I haven't been able to enjoy them since.
Hey Jarret I just ordered an album record that I think you will like. You will be getting it by December 3rd. It's a great album. It's Blue Neighbourhood by Troye Sivan my favorite album by him. You should make a video once you get it in the mail
