Ok so new news for anyone wanting to use a used remote start win module (cuz they are cheap ($25 from junk yard)). YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESET THE PIN ON A USED WIN ONLY A NEW WIN AS IN THIS VIDEO. Appcar diagfca can reprogram the win module to your car. Its a pita since they dont have offical instructions to do so and dont support the feature since its in beta phase. The instructions are different than the instructions in this video because he uses a new virgin win module and virgin keys. You must first read the pin, then erase the vin, then erase all the keys associated with the used win module, then you can run the replace win module routine, it will program the win with your cars vin. Then you need to run reset the win routine, then program keys. You may have to cycle the ignition inbetween every time you do something. I kept trying different things till things worked. I had many errors along the way so im not sure exactly the process. Im not sure I can recreate it now either since I dont have a used win that hasnt been programmed to my vehicle already. As it stands I have a key programmed to my old win and 2 keys (one virgin key and one key that was previously programmed to my original win) programmed to the used remote start win. I can now switch wins and without any programming and use all functions of the keys associated with the win that is currently plugged into the van. Also if you use a remote start equipped win you must use the remote start antenna or the keys on the fob wont work except right next to the drivers door. If you use a non remote start win then the remote start works but at about the same range the door unlock/lock buttons worked before.
I’m looking to add remote start to my 2017 caravan using my original WIN module. Can the dealer or this software reprogram my fobs or WIN to allow my keys to work for remote start? Can a used key from another van be programmed to my vehicle? I have a hood switch and bracket installed in preparation for it.
@@natewarren7236 you wont need to reprogram your fobs or your win module to use remote start. just add the options for remote start and the hood ajar switch in the software and it woks. If you want the long range antenna you need to change the win module and then you will have to reprogram the win to your vin, add the remote start and hood ajar features and reprogram your current fobs to the new win. Make sure to get the pin of the win modules first and write them down. If you want to reprogram used fobs this software can do it. The deal cannot (so they say) reprogram used win modules but this software can. I've done it on my 2012 t&c my self. You have to download the beta version of the software. Its a bit tricky but does work. You have to get the win pin then erase the vin then add the vehicle vin then you can have the ecm learn the win module then program your keys. It took a handfull of tries to figure out the procedure to get it to work.

Thank you for the detailed response! This really gives me hope that the dealer will entertain my request when I go in. I will update this post when/if it happens
@@natewarren7236 I dont think their software will do it. Only one other type of shop programming tool I've seen so far can do it. If you do it yourself with appcar diagfca, you can have the dealer then add remote start to your vin in their database though. Let us know though if they can do it or not and will do it or not.
