Love your reactions and am wondering if you’ve heard Subterranean Homesick Blues by Dylan ...a 60s rap song? 🤷🏻♂️ or this ruclips.net/video/wC10VWDTzmU/видео.html for a little preaching 😊
@music-two-my-ears Thx Dude. Yes amazing cover. I believe it was originally done by King Crimson. Plz correct if wrong. Another Canadian band I have always enjoyed is Trooper. Have a couple of their records. Long Live Rock! 🤟🎸😝🥁
@music-two-my-ears April Wine is one band that I was starting to think no one else has even heard of. Usually, when I mention Triumph, people are like,"Huh? Who's that?"
If Rush was the only rock trio EVER from Canada, that would still be an understatement. Respect to Triumph though. Fun fact... Triumph were often mistaken for Rush in the early 80s in the USA
My biggest problem with rush is just the parts of music that go too happy and disney sounding. Like most of 2112, they get into these awesome music pockets and get all proggy with it and it starts to sound heavy,,, and without fail, Geddy starts playing a major scale, and Alex plays some super corny happy disney riff shit. And all the awesome tension and heavyness melts away as geddy starts singing like a Christmas elf , using super L Ron Hubbard Neal peart sounding lyrics while Lifeson plays a major chord progression…but it’s in 11/8 …so it’s cool.
@@XViTNg Hah, ya I've heard similar complaints lol. Most people that aren't into rush is because of geddy's voice and the fact that they don't really fit into any genre except prog rock. They go from heavy AF to melodical elfish style music all of a sudden lol. That's why I love them though, they can play anything and make it sound amazing.
Tony Ochs, I was blessed growing up in Michigan in the 80s because there was a lot of great rock coming out of Canada back then and we would hear it all the time. We would go out of state and to my amazement most people had never heard some of the great music from there.
absolutely agree I had every damn LP they released till they got stolen :( They do not get the respect they deserve. Canadians only need 3 to be a great band :p
Rik Emmett of Triumph is one of those "it's just not fair" rockers. It's one thing to write music that good. It's another thing to be that good a guitar player. It's another thing to have that amazing singing voice. It's a whole other thing to be that pretty. But dammit, you don't get to have it all at once! IT'S JUST NOT FAIR! 😆

The best part is that while Canada got amazing bands like this, in the US we got Zebra, The Police, Blue Murder, Crosby, Stills and Nash and ZZ Top. The UK probably topped us all with Cream and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Those 2 decades so so many magical trios that could hold their own with much bigger bands (not bigger in popularity, just in band size).
@@Barnes466 Agreed! I find it impressive that 3 Men/Women can take the place of a usual 5 to 6 member band. It takes an amazing amount of talent to do that.

Ahh, one of my favorite bands ever! Fantastic song! Also check out “Magic Power”, “Fight the Good Fight” and “Follow Your Heart”... funny story Rik Emmett told about his jumpsuits: with the band playing several nights in a row, he was looking for something he could literally wash in the sink and hang dry overnight, and he found three jumpsuits like that - remember, it was 1979 - for cheap. Amazing voice and incredible guitar player!

This band deserved more love here in the states. They were a kick-ass trio!
🇨🇦😎 lovin it from Toronto Canada.......Triumph was a great Canadian hard rock band formed in 1975 that was popular in the late 1970s and the 1980s, building on its reputation and success as a live band. Between its 16 albums and DVDs, it has received 18 gold and nine platinum awards in Canada and the United States.
After Rik Emmett left Triumph in the early 90's, he released "Absolutely" and went on a club tour of the US. Got to see this man play from about 12 feet away. Was a religious experience.
Great Canadian trio, did a lot of well known rock songs in the late 70s and early 80s. Quality guitar work and singing from Rik Emmett. Others have already mentioned their other great tracks.

Yes one of the most underrated rock bands of all time 🙌 so much talent in that band.
You're tapping into examples of outstanding Canadian groups....!!! Steppenwolf, Triumph and many many others....Maybe try some April Wine rockers next.....Keep it up J...!!!
This band deserved more love here in the states. They were a kick-ass trio!
Uh oh, Jamal is really getting into the good stuff here! One of my favorite songs ever. Thanks Jamal, glad you enjoyed it. Peace.
I love that you love this great timeless rock music!
I think you're a rocker at heart Jamel.....dig this one.
Rolling straight down my alley!!!!! LOVE TRIUMPH! Great Song!
Finally, bro. Someone listened it's about time someone got to some triumph, so great 3 man band.👏🔥💯👍
😁 brings me so much joy to see him ROCKING OUT to what I was blasting in high school.
Such a classic... and @Jamal such a class act ! 🤟
Top notch!!! EAR CANDY from the Rock era!! Triumph Never got enough play for sure! Loved your reaction!
Rick Emmet, one of the finest voice's you'll ever hear.
RCORDED IN 1978,,, RELEASED IN JAN OF 1979 ,,, TOTALY 70s GOLD
Absolutely correct....his guitar playing is up there, too.
Power chords and great harmony , it cant get any better !!!
After Rik Emmett left Triumph in the early 90's, he released "Absolutely" and went on a club tour of the US. Got to see this man play from about 12 feet away. Was a religious experience.
I drummer friend of mine had him as a prof at Humber College for Music business. Not sure if he is still instructing at that College.
Awesome. Thank you! Triumph needs more air time!
Great Canadian trio, did a lot of well known rock songs in the late 70s and early 80s. Quality guitar work and singing from Rik Emmett. Others have already mentioned their other great tracks.
The "big hair" rock anthems of the 70's and 80's were great! Loving your videos Jamel, keep them coming!
Something's at the edge of your mind, you don't know what it is
Somethin' you were hopin' to find but your not sure what it is
Then you hear the music and it all comes crystal clear
The music does the talkin' says the things you want to hear
I'm young, I'm wild and I'm free
I got the magic power of the music in me..........
I sang this entire comment.
LisaMarie D That was my hope LOL I really hope he does this song I just have so many memories of listening to the song over and over I was 11 in 1981 LOL when allied forces came out
@@LA-fz5qw I’m in my mid twenties - I was working in a hospital pharmacy with a pharmacist (late 50s) who liked rock (journey, Boston, you know, stadium rock bands). I asked him if he ever had heard of Triumph and he said “no”.
A few weeks later I heard him singing Fight the Good Fight.
:)
What a voice is right. Love
Hey my young brother, you should check this song out live at the US Festival in 1983. From all reports, Triumph blew all of the other major rock bands off the stage. God bless you, Jamal!🙂
One of the best Canadian rock bands. 🤘🏻🇨🇦🤘🏻
There probably wont be a lot of requests for this one but "the Blinding Light Show/Moonchild" is an incredible piece of music by Triumph
There were so many good songs that Triumph did fight the good fight, spellbound, magic power, a world of fantasy the list just goes on they were the most underrated band and one of the best bands of the 70s and 80s I listen to them when I was a kid and to this day I still enjoy listening to the music and all their songs

Your face when Rick Emitt hits those high notes, I’m with ya!😲😉 I saw them live in 1982, they looked, sounded and were wearing the same outfits as in this video. Thanks for playing Triumph, I’ve been requesting them! 👍🏻 How about, Never Surrender, Fight the good fight, Magic Power. As always, great reaction. ✌🏼💙
Rik Emmet is a college music teacher in Toronto nowadays! He is my friend’s daughter’s teacher... The kids found some old pics of him with big hair and spandex and they were killing themselves.... 😃🤣
He was so sexy!🔥
