The rate of beneficial mutation in living organisms has been accurately calculated. The total number of seconds since the BIG BANG is also known. There is simply not enough time for the required number of mutations to occur within the time frame. These are inescapable facts which will eventually cause science to look at other alternatives to explain how things got to be the way they are. Mathematics requires no interpretation.

I am glad that Dr. Rana does not try to dismiss the hominids as sick or deformed homo sapiens. But I don't think he provides any answer for their existence either. Neanderthals actually did have fertile children with our subspecies, they were therefore truly human but not anatomically modern humans. People not native to Sub Saraharan Africa have some of their DNA in their genome.
