    so I am a bit of a light nerd as well, I tend to also focus on beam intensity, especially when it comes to "spotlights". That is, how long the beam can "throw" for distance. The measurement I saw most often is "Candelas". Lumens means nothing if you can't focus it into a really bright intense beam. The light I use as an example is the Streamlight Dualie, it is a dual purpose flashlight, roughly $30 now, uses 3 AA batteries, and it uses identical C4 LEDs for both its beam and spread. the difference is the spread obviously has no focusing, and is great for walking around, and the beam is great for focusing at a distance. I love that little light, beam lasts forever, and the spread was great for working inside motor controllers and other tight spaces. That being said, I only have the dewalt DCL050 at home, mainly for power outages at home.

    Great video. Huge difference with the batteries. Makes me want to buy 9 amp immediately. I only have 5 amps. I have the TYPE 1 and have noticed the batteries do not seat well. Light will intermittedly go off and requires it to be jostled to come back on (light jostle). I assumed battery was dying. But, you say 6 plus hours. I was 30 mins in. Ever have that issue? Quick fix?

    • @pitcherthis6483
      @pitcherthis6483  2 года назад

      No, I haven't had that issue. Not sure how old your light is, but Dewalt is quite good at looking after you. Try contacting them. I'm not sure how much you use your light or how many Dewalt tools you have, but the 9ah is not cheap. You may be better off buying one of the other brand lights that offer more features. Thanks for commenting and I'll give my Type 2 a try with the 5ah tonight and let you know how long it lasts.

      I tried a fully charged 5 ah battery on the light today. It ran 6 and a half hours before blinking to let me know that the battery was low. The brightness was not as good as when I started, but was still useable.

      I ordered mine from Amazon, even though the specs listed were for the old light. They didn’t show stock when I ordered it, so I suspected that I would get a newer version when it came. I was right.

    Any idea if this light would be good for spotting racoons high in spruce or very well leafed trees? I guess what I'm asking is the 'spot' fairly narrow at 50 feet. I don't want to light up the whole tree,

    • @pitcherthis6483
      @pitcherthis6483  2 года назад

      Hi Bill! Thanks for commenting. I have used this light many times to light up racoons. It does an excellent job and has quite a hot spot in the middle. However, it does have some spill. So, there will be a halo that will also light up some of the tree. How much, I guess that is somewhat subjective. Perhaps you could purchase one from Amazon and if it doesn't suite your taste, you could return it. Let me know how you make out!

      @@ometofu I ordered mine from Amazon.ca. They had the old specs listed, but I figured I was going to get the new version because it was out of stock when I ordered it. I was right, I received the new version. I just planned to send it back if it was the same as the one I already had. I find that Amazon doesn't always update their website to reflect the new specs.
